im not sure if this is the right place to ask. does anyone know if theres any difference between the NA SuperBeat: Xonic Vita and the NA PS4?

the european one has EX in the title and says 10 Vita DLC tracks included. Play-Asia having on sale too. so i wanna know if the NA copies has the extra DLC tracks or not even it doesnt say EX.

SUPERBEAT: XONiC EX

I ordered Akiba's Beat when Best Buy lowered the price a couple days ago and it came today with the preorder plush.  Just giving people a heads up in case they want to try getting one.  Not bad for $23.99.

LRG to announce next game release date tomorrow. Tweet earlier today indicated they would announce it today, but apparently something caused a delay. And with AX beginning this weekend there is a small chance at more game announcements coming out of NISA, Xseed, and Aksys.

I was tempted to pick up Akiba's Beat while it is on sale at BB, but reviews have scared me away. Common complaints include long (up to a minute on Vita) and frequent (around every corner) load screens, boring combat (just mash square), and dull environments (reskinned enemies, color cutout npcs on street). They say Akiba's Trip is much better (with similar load times I would imagine though).
Akiba's Beat was ok. Combat is straight up Tales Of, and the story went on a bit too long for me. I (now) know that it and Akiba's Trip are different genres, but I prefer Trip.

Really liking Tokyo Xanadu so far.

I am looking for a good "controller grip" for the vita, any recommendations?

Do you have a 1000 or 2000 model?

If you have the 2000 (slim), I can very highly recommend the Hori Remote Play Assist grip. Even if you aren't remote playing, it's very comfortable to hold for playing normal Vita/PSP/PS1 games.

Only problem is, it conceals the rear touchpad entirely, so any game that requires a "swipe" motion on the rear pad won't be able to be played fully.

Play Asia currently has it in stock - 26.99 plus shipping, and you can use one of the several $3 off coupon codes floating around (such as MYPSVITA) to kill some of the shipping.

If you have the 1000 (OLED) model, sadly I don't know anything about grips for that model. Perhaps someone else can chime in if that's the case

Outside of the dungeon gameplay... is there any kind of city/town to explore? I watched a review and a little other footage and it looks like all of the town stuff is done through menus, maps, and static screens where you don't move around.

With the current PSN sale I am considering the following:

Jak and Daxter Collection
Killzone Mercenary
The Sly Collection
Tales of Heart R
Tearaway
Uncharted Golden Abyss
Wipeout 2048
Sorcery Saga: Curse of the Curry God

I already own the Jak collection as well as the Sly collection on PS3 but usually never get time to game on the PS3 so considering the Vita versions to at least get some game time on the go.  The Trophies don't stack on those, right?  They share the trophy list with the PS3, correct?

Any yays or nays against those titles?

If I pick up all of those games I might even bust out the 3 month PSN card to take advantage of the extra off.

from what i heard the ps4 and xbox one versionsinclude the dlc that was on the vita but not sure

yeah, i traded that in a couple of weeks after completing it, hated the combat and long dialogues, would have gotten a persona game if i wanted more of that same style, i know a low budget studio can only do so much, but i would have rather them reused the old open world and improved and made it more interactive with the shops and arcades and what not then go this route

I've heard the Sly games play pretty well, so those shouldn't be too bad. Same with the Jak and Dexter collection. Both games have separate trophy lists according to forums I saw. Tales of Hearts R is pretty decent, although very straightforward. It's worth playing at least once. Tearaway and Wipeout 2048....get the PS4 versions of those ones (Tearaway one was PS+). The Wipeout Omega collection is remastered and stuff and those games deserve to be played on the big screen. Sorcery Saga was OK for what I played, but most people consider it an easier turn based dungeon crawler thing. Could be a maybe. I haven't played the rest but both were PS+ games at one point.

About to go nuts on the b2g1 free sale...

What RPG's would you all recommend?  I am thinking about Legend of Heroes 1 and 2.  Is Disgaea worth it, or just get it for PS4?  (I do have Persona already.)  I like CG and story!!

thanks!

Disgaea 3/4 have complete Vita versions and are worth it. Disgaea 3 was a PS+ game at one point. I'd recommend Criminal Girls. If you don't mind less story get Dungeon Travelers 2, as it's my favorite dungeon crawler on Vita.

Slightly off topic, but did Disgaea 2 ever get a complete edition anywhere, or should I just grab the PSP version and the DLC off PSN?

On a retro gaming kick, I went to 4 pawn shops today. At the last shop, the guy said he didn't have any, but had a few Vita games.

Picked up Shiren the Wanderer and MegaTagmension Blanc Zombies for 5 bucks each, so couldn't turn that down.

Nice find man, there aren't many Vita physical games I'd turn down for $5

My gosh. I would love to find a copy of Shiren in my area at all, let alone for $5. That's insane.

Yeah, I didn't post to brag, I was just excited that I went to this giant garage sale 30 mins away today, and all the good stuff was gone when I got there...so I went to four pawn shops, and the last trip was the shop that had the two Vita games.

I'm going hunting again tomorrow. It's addicting.

The 32GB card has been dropping a little on Amazon, so I managed to get a brand new one (shipped by Amazon) for $59 ($49 after some credit I had). Time to move all the PSP games on my current 32GB to the new one when it comes in. Then I'll have room for more Vita game related downloads. Like game updates and patches lol.

Advice time gentlemen...

In the recent b2G1 from Gamestop, I bought Ninja Gaiden 2 Sigma.  When I got home I realized they gave me Ninja Gaiden 1...  (Sigma Plus whatever)

Which is the better game?

They have a decent set of games for me to pick through...  I have to make some decisions on what to buy and what to pass on.

I have both Ninja Gaiden games and I believe the framerate in part 1 is better if you care about that. I'm not sure which Gaiden (1 or 2) is better story wise but just get both if your collecting. I say part one is better as it plays more fluently.

Just found another GS that has Y's....  Groan...  Money and this thread...  CAG my eye.  ;-)  I love it!!  I am working on an excuse now for the wife...  I think the word "collector" might work...  It is a bit more honest then "investor."  ahhaha

  :whistle2:

Trying to decide between Neptunia Rebirth1 or Neptunia Rebirth3 from the mid-year sale. I played some of the original on PS3 but lost interest when I had to start grinding to level up for a boss. Not too concerned about missing part of the larger story... just looking for the better game, retro gaming references, and console wars innuendo. Am I better off with 1 or 3?

I was able to grab a copy of Shantae for $19.99 since it's on sale right now. Wished the collector box was still sealed but great price for the game since it's a bit more on Amazon. PS4 version is same price new as well.

Sweet price, thanks for the heads up. I actually bought mine from GS awhile ago, as Amazon kept sending my copy in a bubble mailer, so I bought it from my local shop for quality control. My copy came sealed, but for a game like this I would for sure be playing, I don't really mind if it's opened, so long as everything is in proper condition.

Normally I would have waited on a better price like this, but I didn't know how qty would be, and since the Vita has long been on it's way out(at least in the world is ending topics), so I bought it pretty early, instead of waiting on the better price, as to not miss out later down the line. This is for sure a solid buy at $20, even if GS has to be a part of the equation.

I also didn't mind showing support at full price, as this is probably one of the bigger name titles to come out for the Vita in recent times, and not many publishers would have offered a game like this.

You should be glad you even got a complete copy, and your store didn't just chuck the extras out since it is Gamestop after all. ;D

Found a few new copies of Shantae for Vita at local GS stores, and was told that another store had 5 PS4 copies (new) nearby. Went to pick up a sealed PS4 copy, and some El Hoardo person had submitted an online order the night before for all 5 copies, so they had been pulled to be shipped from the store. Really annoying!

If anyone finds an extra sealed PS4 copy in excellent condition, and wants to trade for a sealed Vita copy, I have an extra for trade.

So I finally bit the bullet and decided to get a backup(?) vita imported from Amazon JP.  Got the metallic red one and also decided to grab a 64gb memory card, L2/R2 & R3/L3 grip, and some Hori screen protectors.

At the time of purchase, total for the vita was roughly $170, $80-ish for the memory card (after shipping for both), and not sure about the grip and screen protector since that ordered was charged in yen instead of being converted by Amazon JP.  Not too bad for the two main items if anyone else is on the fence about importing one from them.

NEWS from NISA!!!

Just received a newsletter e-mail from NISA today with three announcements I'm sure we've all been waiting for!

Wished Demon Gaze 2 and Yomawari Midnight Shadows were exclusive to the Vita. We don't need two versions of a game that play best on the Vita. I guess developers need the money but Vita exclusive games are dead.

So I haven't been over here since mid march and just got back to the rest of the threads a couple weeks ago. I saw that Cosmic Star Heroine is finally out but on PS4. Vita version cancelled?

no. They're working on quality control for the Vita and trying to make it small enough to fit on a Vita Cartridge.

Thanks! I've been anxiously waiting on this. Only vita version will really do for me. Hopefully the cartridge will be more available than kickstarter backers and LRG then

LRG hasn't announced any specific numbers in regards to the qty that will be offered, but I'm sure CSH will be one of the highest they have done so far, if not the most. So I wouldn't worry, as this will be probably their biggest release so far, so I expect qty's to be pretty good for all.

Good to hear, I started collecting vita titles last fall. At about 120~ right now. Never did any LRG releases but have seen where the higher sought after versions were hard to come by.

How is the game?
I'd be interested to know as well.

Also, did the NISA email say if the Yomawari: Midnight Shadows limited edition is exclusive to the NISA website, or if retailers would get it too? Considering the game will be around $23 with Prime or GCU, I'd be hard pressed to get the LE if all there is is a poster and outbox, and it's like $60 with no retailer discount.
