My husbands boss has some cars he sponsors and he always has free beer waiting for all his invitees. Yum :)

(And he has food too, but honestly I never pay attention to the food. When I go to the Grand Prix all I do is pretty much drink. God, I sound like an alcoholic. I guess I do get a couple of tacos too or a turkey leg if they look good :))
 
Just beat the first boss in Sly 1. It really is a very fun, solid platformer. The only problem I've seen so far is a couple of occasions where the camera glitched for a minute and quit following Sly until I backed up/moved on and that it hard-locked once...which is worrying because it's the third game to screw up on me like that; Sly 1, Sands of Time, and Killzone have all given me issues at least once. Is system freezing just a thing that happens or is there something going on with my PS3? I've got a slim, btw (not SS.)

It's not nascar, it's the Grand Prix so we watch the drifting and lemans

They only serve three kinds of beer Tecate, Heineken, and I forget the last one. I usually will choose Heineken unless on the off chance I find someone who is selling Dos Equis which happened once before.

They have Patron there too, but tequila with heat would make me get tipsy pretty quick.

Hot Shots is a little tedious to play more than a few tournaments at a time, time to pick a game from the physical backlog this time to alternate.

First pick the letter A or B, then pick a number from 1 to 32.

Most of my time with Hot Shots has been on road trips or right before bed. It's fun in short bursts but definitely becomes a grind.

I need to play the entire Resistance Collection. I picked it up in that sale recently at BB where it was $20 but haven't opened it yet. The first game doesn't have trophies, though.

My method was if you pick the letter A I start on the left side of the shelf if letter B, start on the right side, then count off the following number in that direction.

Has anyone called conspiracy on this line up PS+ games? It seems like a weak line up and there are some pretty high profile games out right now. Diablo, Last of Us, Madden and Destiny (soon.) Maybe conspiracy isn't the right word, but there is no real incentive for giving us a bunch of games that will occupy our time when there are already some major releases.

I've got the super slim and mine locked up a couple times on Sands of Time.

 
Black Knight and Creature From the Black Lagoon trophies done. If I mention that I'm close to Cleaner again she'll pull out the stops again. So no way am I doing that.

My weekend starts tomorrow. Guess what my plans are? Increase my lead, sucka!

I started season 2 of Sons of Anarchy so my gaming time has decreased. I'm about halfway through the season. Not sure what show I'll marathon after this. Maybe Breaking Bad or The Wire. Anyone like those? I hear they're the best shows ever. Especially those 3rd and 4th seasons.

I did like burn notice. Haven't seen the whole series, but what I have seen has been enjoyable.

The Wire!

When I started watching it I got hooked and couldn't wait for the next episode. It takes a few episodes for it to pick up but its a damn good series.

I decided to be a cheap ass and wait since a bunch of doctors' bills keep rolling in. I'm trying to focus on paying them off by the new year. I figure I can play my 360 version in the meantime and upgrade to the PS4 version when it's cheap in the future.

My friend ordered me a cheap copy of TLOU Remastered that I should have in the next few weeks. I'd be down for that if everyone isn't done with it. I know Destiny will be the next big game. I'm getting it on XB1.

Also, I was joking about watching The Wire since I don't have access to that show. I would like to watch it though. I do plan on watching Breaking Bad since it's on Netflix. Maybe catch up on True Blood, Penny Dreadful, Masters of Sex and start True Detective. So many shows, so little time.
 
Question: I am in a fantasy football league for the 2nd time this year. I was informed the draft would be this week about two weeks ago. I get a call yesterday asking why I was not at the draft last night and I inform the commissioner that I never got any info on when the draft was. Turns out he sent it to the wrong email and auto draft was done for me. Last year, I made it to the championship game and the draft is one of my favorite parts of doing fantasy football. He still expects me to pay and participate, even though it was his mistake. My team is not horrible, except the league is greatly skewed towards QB (6 points for passing TDs and yard bonuses for 300 and 400 yards) and I ended up with RGIII. What are your thoughts, considering the buy-in is $150?

Redraft or just don't participate. $150 is $150. And it was entirely the guy's fault.

 
You're not totally in the clear. You knew it'd be this week; why didn't you send out an email to the commish asking about the draft time when Monday rolled around and you had no new info?

I'd definitely push for a league wide redraft, though. Or leave the league.

The people that are attacking Anita Sarkeesian (that was just one example) are not really doing their "cause" any good. Some really sick/deranged people out there in the video game world. :(

Tim Shafer tweeted out her video and said everyone in the game industry should watch it, and then he started getting attacked as well. Same with Joss Whedon.

A question that was brought up by somebody on twitter, and I think is going to be interesting to see what happens, is will someone from Penny Arcade say something stupid again at PAX, and what the outcome of that will be.

I actually don't know anything about Anita other than she's a cute feminist. I guess I should look into it.

Yeah, you should at least check in for a draft date with the commish, especially with that kind of money on the table.

That said, I'd leave the league. No way would I spend $150 after that. Do people really do that much of a buy in? Most I've ever seen is $25 each.
 
A complaint I have about the DS4 is that the bumpers seems to be shit. Two of our controllers have bumpers that tend to stick now. That bit me last night playing Pinball Arcade (flipper stuck up). They aren't even that old. Does anyone else have that issue?

I hate to focus on this sort of thing since there's obviously more to her than looks, but I've really enjoyed Fetch's design from inFAMOUS. You don't see this kind of...curvy thickness often in games and I think it's fucking great. The Lara Crofts are still nice, of course, but we need more of this, too. Again, not trying to objectify women, folks. Just happy we admirers of dat ass are seeing more of it. Next gen is here.

Tim Shafer seems like a super nice guy and is pretty funny too. He was retweeting some of the attacks and posting hilarious comments about them. I actually don't know much about Joss. Of course the attacks on them pale in comparison to whats happening to Anita.
