PSN Off-Topic - Happy Thanksgiving Chumps and Chumpettes!

Alright, I put some more time into Metro and I may just settle for snakey-beating it (e.g., not beating it). Weak shooting is bumming me out. Like I have plenty of ammo, but killing a monster takes almost one clip of ammo from any gun. So I kill a monster, run around while I am reloading and being jumped on by other monsters, repeat. The fights with monsters are not avoidable, btw. They just sort of show up and attack you. Great atmosphere and all that, but the prospect of trading it back to Best Buy so that I actually make money for playing it (albeit only a few bucks) is too alluring.

 
Actually, of my three PS4 controllers, two have the sticking bumpers and one has the rubber on the left thumbstick coming apart. Great quality, Sony!

All my friends who got launch units or spare controllers have just destroyed the rubber on the left stick. I game more than them and my controller is pristine. Could be the way you handle it, since most play with the tip of the thumb and I usually use the middle area of mine unless I need to exercise precision. I'll probably grab another controller down the line, but after 9 months of battering, my controller is a trooper.

I also use it while playing PS3 games, to give you an idea of the use it gets.

I looked up Amber Rose yesterday, and while not going to the extremes you mentioned, damn that woman is fine as hell. I dislike women with short or cropped hair, but I'd make an exception for her any day.

Joss pretends to be a feminist but he's a huge asshole. Not sure if you watched Buffy/Angel, for example, but the actress who played Cordelia, Charisma Carpenter got pregnant during Angel. He started calling her fat (including in a radio show) and fired her, got her to come back after promising to not kill her character off (then did it anyway.)

One of the episodes Joss pitched for that had Inara getting gang-raped by reavers. Not sure if that particular episode got tossed in the trash or if they just got cancelled in time. Good thing either way, I think.

Coolest thing about the game is that it's from Ska Studios, whose first 3 games were Xbox/PC exclusives. Nice to see Sony and a dev like that come to terms to make an exclusive game for Sony!

The Dishwasher games are really awesome, as is I MADE A GAME WITH ZOMBIES IN IT, though I don't really dig the grungy art style Ska Studios uses. But it's easy to look past when the gameplay is so strong, which it is. The fact that they're describing this game as an RPG action platformer instead of a brawler (which the Dishwasher games were) has me even more excited.

This is a really good point. I had no idea that a ton of people play games using the tip of their thumb. But my friends do, and one of my friends had a really long fingernail for whatever reason and created a huge ass divot in one of my 360 controllers. So if you're playing like this and you don't have proper fingernail grooming, you're going to fuck you're controller up.

I've got a feeling most the people who are fucking up their PS4 rubber play with the tip of their thumb too. I definitely play with the front soft part of my thumb. I guess that's why I'm not as good at twitchy shooters, but I really don't give a shit about that.

I started season 2 of Sons of Anarchy so my gaming time has decreased. I'm about halfway through the season. Not sure what show I'll marathon after this. Maybe Breaking Bad or The Wire. Anyone like those? I hear they're the best shows ever. Especially those 3rd and 4th seasons.

Will have to check once I get off work again.

What helps keep the Wire fresh is most of the players are still present from one season to the next, but the focus changes. I remember it being slow for the first disc or or two, but certainly not the entire first season. Sons of Anarchy is one of those that I have heard is good, I'll have to get around to that eventually.

It's pretty good, but it went on about 2 or 3 seasons too long. I did like the last season though.

Wtf? Who plays with the tip of their thumb or fingernail? I just picked up my controller after reading that and it feels absolutely terrible. I've never had a problem with twitch shooting either.

Well I don't use the tip of my finger on our controllers, and my kids don't either from what I can tell. Plus this doesn't have anything to do with the bumper issue. I also never had any issues like this with our 360 controllers or PS3 controllers. DS4s are falling apart all around me.

Yeah I was just referring to all the people who have issues with the rubber. I had never heard about this bumper issue until you mentioned it. Mine is fine except my L2/R2 are super squeaky.

I'm hoping the white destiny controller has had a few improvements made.

No, we have one controller that the rubber has come off of the left stick too. Never had this problem with 360/PS3 controllers.

I just saw someone in a comment section ask for Angry Birds on PS+.  Only because it was on disc and therefore has more "perceived value" then a downloadable game.

fuck it.  I quit.  People are just too fuck ing stupid to me.

Actually, that is not a stupid game at all - it is pretty great - but I would never play this on Vita… unless it has a good following and live play with more than 2 players at once. On iOS/Android it is best as an asynch game. On Vita, asynch sucks.

FYI, this is a real game, not just a virtual card game. It's a great game, but in the real world the setup is kind of a bitch. So much shuffling….

We did $200 last year with 10 people, this year is $150 with 12 people. I won the regular season and lost in championship game, so I got back about $400. The winner won $1300 I think, son't remember. I have friends who do keeper leagues that have $300-$500 buy-ins. The commish called me and told me he was going to let me know when the draft was, i never got a call and forgot about it due to work.

 
I see Ascension is being done by Playdek, so it's going to be good, but it's also going to primarily be an asynch game. I'd recommend buying it for your phone or tablet instead.

The rubber on the DS3 controller is raised, instead of depressed like on the DS4. The R2/L2 problem is something one of my friends has.

Out of six of my close friends, four have the rubber on their DS4s ripped apart. Again, of the two others with intact rubbers, one recently got his PS4 and the other has the triggers problem.

Lol. Not saying it's the case here but some people might be concerned with trophies. Don't all retail releases have platinums? Definitely plays into perceptions.
