I may be up for TLOU Mp tomorrow or Thursday. Though I have also never played it. And only halfway-ish through single player. So I will suck confirmed.

Posted a link here for getting $40 in free money from TopCashBack if anybody is interested. I've used them before for free Amazon money and it only took a few minutes for the two "purchases." $15 is from getting a Gamefly trial period and $25 for buying a $.01 prepaid calling card from T-mobile.

Almost put a referral link for TopCashBack on it, but looks like that's against the rules unless you're posting specifically in the referral section of the site. Can't imagine many people look there.

Just an FYI, I am guessing the Gamefly trial thing wont work if you have ever done a Gamefly trial or been a member before.

I went to PAX East last year. It was pretty fun, but if you want to play any of the AAA games you'll be waiting 2 hours to play for 5 minutes.
Yeah I wasn't planning on trying to play any of the big stuff. I want to meet a bunch of indie devs and check out what they're working on though

PSNProfiles seemed to be way behind the times without having an account, so I just made one and now it updated. But, fuck, that stupid Backgammon Blitz is in there now!

Fairly long but funny John Oliver piece on Ferguson and police militarization:
He's done really good work since starting his own show on HBO, pretty much all of his long form pieces are entertaining, informative, and worth watching. I am so glad they are posting them to youtube for all us peasants who can't afford HBO.

I haven't put much thought into it really. A good candidate is what you're working on now, MGS 3.
I second that nomination. You could easily do it in a single playthrough if you wanted (following the one-playthrough guide on PST.org), though I wouldn't recommend it if you never played MGS3 before--I hadn't, so I did a blind playthrough on Normal just taking my time with it before doing the Very Easy playthrough for the plat.

It will be my first time playing it, so that'd be what I'd do as well.

Gator, now that you're closing in on plat # 250, you have a certain game lined up for it?
The only thing I have come up with is The Wolf Among Us. I really loved the story in that one. Even though I know it is considered easy, it is still a game I would like to have a prominent spot on my card going forward. I had planned to save those for the next competition, but since that isn't happening I think I am going to go with it.

Do you have something lined up for Plat #10?
Should be Just Cause 2 :)

Uncharted 3 is only at 20%! I'm so glad I learned about this method of seeing how many people obtained trophies in a game to determine whether or not they liked it.

I haven't ruled out going for the plat in Just Cause 2 once I've reduced the backlog a good bit, but it's so darn big I doubt it'll be number 10.

I got a rare chance to play on a weeknight last night, and I must say Just Cause 2 is a great game to blow off steam with after a bad day at work. I got to try out the minigun last night. Probably the most absurdly powerful minigun I've ever used in a game.

The fact that it has infinite ammo also justifies its cathartic nature.

I'm still early in the game, but is there any way to save the vehicles you buy? You'd think that once you purchased one, you could then have it delivered whenever. Apparently that's not the case, unless I'm missing something.

I only bought a single vehicle--the first motorcycle--at the start of the game and just hop into other random cars/trucks/jeeps/motorcycles/helicopters/jets that I come across if I need them. It's so easy to hijack anything and you need to drive all of the unique vehicles for a trophy anyway (I'm up to 56 now, I think?).

I was trying to drive to the next agency mission (which was over 20 km away) with no helicopters or jets in sight, so I thought I'd buy a jet. Promptly blew it up, and thought I'd have it delivered again. Would've had to pay again. The quickest route was just to go to a military compound and wreck stuff until they call in the chopper I guess.

Practically every military base/compound I've visited has had at least one helicopter parked on a helipad somewhere, and I've even seen one or two parked on helipads in the middle of cities.

Yeah, I'd completely forgotten about the extract function with the black market dealer that would've taken me straight to a chopper. :dunce:

What's your completion percentage now? I'm at 5% through 3:45.

Still 9% after 8-ish hours, and I haven't done any additional Agency missions yet after Casino Run. I haven't played it for a couple of days because I want to get the MGS3 plat before Tales of Xillia 2 arrives tomorrow.

Been too long since I scoped out some PS Blog comments. Here's one from a post about CounterSpy from today:

Looks cool, huh? So did the Vita, and sony ruined it.
Don’t bother buying counterspy if you own a Vita. It’s the same ridiculous situation with Wipeout and Killzone: Mercenaries, the game will take forever to load. You see, if you play this on consoles, you know for a fact it will load much faster, than you play it for longer, whereas on Vita, 50~75% of your gameplay will be about you facing the ‘loading…’ message and you’ll get tired of it much faster.
sony doesn’t bother addressing this situation because they can hide themselves behind the encryption excuse so they’ll never fix the Vita’s memory/cartridge reading speeds, so forget about it. Oh and BTW if you pre-ordered a PSTV you’ll see what I mean.
There are plenty of reviews all over the Internet which states the loading times is a let down. So don’t support this game. And don’t feel ashamed if you’re feeling like not supporting the Vita, sony always does that, shamelessly.

Edit: I'm not technologically savvy enough to get rid of that white background nonsense. You guys will just have to induce eye bleeding by trying to read that.
Click the little switch icon at the upper left of the comment box (with the formatting stuff and such), click in the text field and paste, then click the little switch again. That will paste it as text.

Theoretically you could score even lower than that. Then you would be "under par" which is even better.
If you get more than 9 you're doing it wrong, amateur.

I don't know what the hell you are talking about, but I appreciate the effort!

One thing you might consider doing is locating a military airport and acquiring a jet. Make a couple of passes across the length of the map while flying low to unlock a few locations spread around the map so that you can use black market extraction to dump you closer to the next mission you want to tackle if it is pretty far away.

I just always used the grapple and parachute to get around since it was so much fun.
