Man, spending more time with Shadow Of Mordor made me realize how wrong Therm is every time he critiques a game. Absolutely massive game, it is kind of overwhelming, but it has been endless fun. The freedom of it alone makes it truly great.

Uh oh, starting to get chills. I really don't want to get sick.
Where the fuck did my post go?

I made a sweet post about you complaining this much and not even being sick. And how I can't wait to see how whiney and bitchy you are when you actually do get sick. And it's fucking gone! Just disappeared!

I love it when people bitch but are too lazy to write an actual response or give even the slightest indication that they even read my post and can point to a specific thing to disagree with. :whistle2:k

I mean if you want to disagree with me, that's fine, but any "response" or reference to me that pulls this shit just makes me think your posts aren't worth reading at all.

Shadow of Mordor is JC2 all over again--me running around towards everything except the main story missions because it's just so darn fun. :joystick:

With the Vita TV coming out soon, I'm hoping they'll spend the time to update the PS1 and PSP emulators for the Vita. It'd be great if it rendered at native Vita resolution instead of the original game resolution. Low-powered Android devices can do it, so no reason for the Vita not to be able to. It'd make a pretty big difference when tossing the games up onto a full-sized screen.

I doubt it would happen, though. :(

Vanquish challenge 4 and 5 down, what mostly tripped me up in 4 (which is the hardest one of the original 5 challenge maps) were the earlier waves. Wave 1 has about a dozen ninja and 2 flamethrower romanovs (which put you immediately into overheat if they hit you) in close proximity. Then wave 1 goes immediately into wave 2 and I could never figure out where to shoot the life gun (fires a slow moving 5 foot wide bubble of energy) to kill the spawning weaker enemies. Then in wave 3 the corridor is narrow and the "unknown" boss has an instant death melee attack so that kept tripping me up. Once I got past wave 3 it just took me 2 tries to get through wave 4 and 5. Now onto challenge 6, the balls hard one.

Also fuck the double eagle and homing shot trophies in Hot Shots Vita.
Sorry to tell you, but I tried this a few months back and I still couldn't get the double eagle trophy.

Also, damn that last warchief I fought. Brought in like 4 bodyguards (who of course all had bows or shields) and a boat load of orcs with him. I think I was able to get my revenge on most of them except the chief so hopefully round 2 will go better.

Poison sucks, though.

Still wish the combat finishers would hit the guy I'm aiming at.

PS: Did avenge one of wrencrest's deaths earlier today. Enjoy avenging one of my many deaths so far in return.

I wish a Vendetta mission would pop up for me, as I'd love to avenge one of you guys. I have yet to die once, so you won't be able to do the same for me...for now.

For the combat finishers, I've taken to flipping over the guy I want to use it on then hitting Pyramid+Hoop while tilting the analog stick towards him; if he's a captain/elite/whatever who's resistant to flipping, get closer to him before activating the finisher--you actually have a slightly larger window of time to continue your combo compared to the Arkham games, so you can afford a half-second delay to guarantee your target.

BTW, are you aware that your trophy card doesn't link to your PSNP page? I was just curious.

Considering the posts below you, that essay you're hoping for will have to wait. And in the subject of your "critiques", I think you latch onto the first thing that annoys you and blow it out of proportions.

Not the first to point that out and damn, it must have hurt if you're pulling the "not worth reading" card.

Vig, do you ever fight a hoard of uruk or do you just stealth kill everything?  I find myself in huge battles with 50 uruks at a time.  All the time.  Unless I am in a far off location.  It takes forever to clear out so many or I have to run away.  I did have a 70 hit combo at one point.  But it felt like a chore to keep hitting the same enemies over and over again.

When in the open or near encampments? I get stragglers in the open, I just finish them off quickly. I do try to stealth near big concentrations, since one mission almost had me die by facing 10 Uruks and the bodyguard. Oh, and mounting caragors is great.

I guess I am too close to encampments but it seems like every Uruk with intel is in an encampment. I dont want to have to play stealth every single time I want to get intel. I dont find that fun. 10/10 Therms

Not really, your post was just the one I decided to reply to. A couple of other people have done the same thing, which I did address earlier. And again, making blanket statements without backing them up doesn't really make for a quality post. If you look back over my posts you'll find that every time I post something about a game I am very specific about it, whether the content is positive or negative. Whether you agree with that content or not is a different issue, but I don't think anybody could reasonably say I'm not backing up my opinions. Posts such as the one you made that we are discussing are the equivalent of a "tldr" response, so they're worthless in that respect.

I'm not saying that your comments in regards to liking the game are worthless, mind you, but bringing me into your post just as a drive-by-trolling was shitty. There's no point in referencing something I said unless you're going to respond it in some way, which you did not do.

I've been finding that too, seems like a lot of my battles involve a lot of Uruks.

I actually had a pretty awesome encounter last night. There was an Intel orc/uruk/whatever walking around that I jumped behind to stealth-kill, but he somehow noticed me and before I could complete the animation to interrogate him, I was interrupted by another orc who heard the commotion. He had brought 10-20 of his friends, so I began killing them one-by-one while keeping the Intel orc in my sights and taking care not to attack him in any way.

After killing 6-7 of the other guys, the Intel orc freaked out and started running away, whereby I stopped fighting his friends and pursued him, the remaining 10+ other guys chasing after me. I eventually caught up and tackled him to the ground, but I accidentally let go of the R1 button for a second and he broke out of my grasp. He stuck around for a few more seconds (during which I killed 1-2 more of the other guys) then ran away again. I was ticked off by this point (in a good way, though, like I was actually angry at this orc for being a coward), and I soon ran him down and got his intel while ahead of the pursuing crowd.

8-10 of the original mob still remained, so I proceeded to kill each one of them until none remained. When I killed the last one with a Combat Finisher, I got another ability point. It looked so incredibly badass when Talion sheathed his sword after that.

50/10 Vigs

I look forward to reading of your success while I continue to find excuses not to try again.

You know opinions are subjective, right? Like me trying to deconstruct your post that I've just quoted and say why it's wrong, point by point, like you did?

I will point out this though, not verbatim: "MGS2 has shitty controls". Remember when you said that? A game released in 2001 critiqued 13 years laters for something that in that moment, was ahead of its time. So your "backing" rest in a subjective and "shitty" way of viewing things.

I'd rather say it's shitty from the beginning and be done with it.
