So I went to get dinner tonight and the streets are chaos. I found out some guy was on the freeway overpass threatening to jump. My friend took a pick of the guy with 1 leg over the edge of the overpass. A 10 minute drive took over 30 min.

omg, i just thought you got messages when people pm'd you. You get messages too everytime someone signs on or offline? That would be nonstop constant messages, lol, how would you ever enjoy the game? lol

There's probably a way to turn off online/offline notifications. I should look into that, as those are annoying.
Bumslie, streets are messsy here as well but different reasons. For some reason the mike brown protests in stl are now in the suburb malls and streets, idky. They are protesting at walmart and plaza frontenac, etc last few nights.

Dude, have you heard about what's been going on at the Cardinals games?

Had the BIg Box from Taco Bell for lunch and regret it. I wish you could create your own box.

Don't care which team advances, as long as they beat the fucking Cards/Giants.

Edit: no shaq fu?
They broke it with the board upgrade, it only works on fuck by itself so you have to add a space after the k in fuck ing if you use a variant of the base word.

Beat the first boss (?) in Evil Within. (noticed I had some unused codes for Redbox. Figure I'll use that rather than buying and trading the game back in). It's alright, but a lot of it feels inadequate or outdated I guess I would say. Lot of camera issues (camera clipping and obscuring my view or just being way too close and being hard to see anything other than the character's back). Combat isn't super satisfying (especially the sucky melee). Feels like everything just takes a long time since you have to sneak a lot due to lack of ammo (and lack of item capacity. Who the hell can only carry 5 matches?). Also feels like it's more about trial and error than straight up challenge (like being killed by the first guy because I didn't know to grab the keys right away instead of waiting 5 seconds).

Hate to say it, but it feels like a game that would be great in 2005 when RE4 came out, but nowadays you have to compare it to The Last of Us and it feels lacking.

Yep pretty much. 99.99% of the ppl in the gs thread love me

Pharm people are just pulling down random streets to get out of the gridlock traffic. Then they are lost trying to find a faster way to the open section of freeway. Total inconvenience for the drivers not familiar with the area.

Velo I still see news stories about what's going on around your area. I see lots of protests and seeing cops trying to keep some order.

I've gotten to 4-4 a couple times with tons of time to spare, but had too few ropes to get out of the pit after teetering
Olmec
So frustrating!
I made it once with time to do it and the ropes and died a cheap death from a bat or some shit that spawn right next to me. I quit trying after that. I might get back into it now that it's out on the DestinyStation4

fuck-ing mailed it. All of it.

I'm only through chapter 4, but:

  • Combat sucks and isn't required nearly enough, except for set pieces that teeter on the side of frustrating because it usually involves your character being swarmed by multiple enemies, which is no fun since you are not equipped to take them all on and you have to battle with the camera as well.
  • Melee sucks balls.
  • Sneaking is so slow. Why is it so slow? Why is there even stealth in a game like this?
  • TRIAL AND ERROR! That was almost the entirety of chapter 4. I didn't think it was way too bad before then but god so much of chapter 4 was dying because you don't know what to do, stare at 10 second load screen, get 20 seconds further then die, stare at load screen, etc.
I'm bumping the difficulty down for the rest of the game. Not so much because it's hard (I struggled on Chapter 3 but that was mostly because I was being impatient) but because I'm not having a whole lot of fun. I don't hate it enough to stop yet, but I want to press forward at the easiest pace possible and see if the middle of the game gets any more enjoyable.

yeah just beat chapter 4, im taking a break. My son loves it tho, he keeps warning me when im about to walk into those trip wires/bear traps, lol. Peace guys

oh and collectibles seem to be a pain, they don't auto save, so I keep dieing and then not picking them back up. I just got to the map fragment wall and I knew I picked up 2 already, but checked and nope, they arent there anymore, argh. Oh wells ill try to get what I can get and then checklist off what im missing for next playthrough. I'm a fan of most Shinji Mikami,  resident evil 4 and shadows of the damned (a suda51 trip) and god hand and vanquish.

I'm genuinely surprised at how much of this game seems designed to be a pain.
- trap placement and behavior (why make a risk/reward game out of bomb disarming if it's also unavoidable?)
- environment layouts (no one has ever designed buildings like this ever, even in hell)
- the save system in general
- the REQUIREMENT for sound (I'd be surprised if any deaf people could play this game)
- controls in general (do I seriously have to push R3 to bring up a menu? is box strictly a reload button?)
etc etc.

I've just started in to chapter 4 and I'm sure it'll be delightful, but this is the first game in a long time I've thought 'maybe I just need to fold on this one, it's not worth it.' maybe I didn't realize how polished tlou was and now I'm just pining for it. I'm going to stick it out for now anyways. in spite of the problems I still want to see where this weird ass game is going.

it's incredible how something can be so very similar to re4 but be so subpar and obnoxious.

What mode are you playing at? Or did I just miss that.
I forget the name, but it's the harder of the two difficulty options you're given. The descriptions for each one make it sound like you're supposed to pick that one, but that note that was included with review copies makes me wonder if I might want to switch it up.

I played a bit more this morning, but am still in chapter 3. I'm definitely curious to hear if you are enjoying it more after lowering the difficulty. Bullets seem to be scarce as shit so far. Seriously, how many times am I going to find matches in these crates? I've used like 2 matches in the last hour of playing. Quit giving them to me. I will say I discovered an option that allows you to toggle sneak on and off rather than holding down to sneak, so that's one problem solved.

The only thing I want to chime in on is the bomb disarming. fuck that. I swear the needle doesn't stop for a full second after I press the button. Blew myself up like 3 times before getting it right. I tried just throwing a bottle at the bomb but that apparently does nothing.

All in all I'm still not as down on it as you guys seem to be. I seem to remember feeling pretty overwhelmed at the beginning of RE4 but eventually felt like a BAMF thanks to upgrades. It's still not exactly pulling me in, though. If I'm not enjoying it more around the halfway mark it'll be on it's way back to Best Buy.

The True Trophies feed this morning was interesting.  Everybody that played Evil Within got a couple trophies except for Velo who got 8.  Apparently, he beat that chainsaw dude with a knife.  After watching Tyler struggle with him, I can not imagine that was easy.
