I'm struggling with whether or not to buy PvZ:GW for $20. If the disc version drops to $20 at BestBuy I'll be able to get it for less than $20 (after GCU) so probably I should wait for that. Then again it would be nice to have this game digital. Hmm. Tomorrow I'll be getting Costume Quest 2, so in the short run that's what I'll be playing, not PvZ:GW.
Remember the spend $100 get $15 promotion. With those 2 games alone being $35, maybe your other purchases would get you the $15 back. That might help make a decision.

Wait... Evil Within is available on the PS3? I thought it was next gen only? There are zero reviews for it though.
Ask Velo, though he wouldn't be able to tell you how it compares to the PS4 version.

However, you can watch this for the graphics comparison:

I'd be up to $45 including Race the Sun, but I don't want to spend $55 more….
I knew you do not spend much on the store, but I thought I would mention it in case. I plan to get LBP3 digitally, and I still think I am unlikely to hit the $100 in the month with that being more than half the amount needed.

I'm struggling with this too. I really want the game but I can't bring myself to pay $20 for a digital copy.

The Evil Within ( :ps4:) has a $40 guaranteed TIV at Gamestop ($30 for :ps3:) through 11/12, so that's a nice alternative if Best Buy's TIV dips before I can get the plat.

I bought PvZ on a whim yesterday and I'm glad I bought it. Played like 4-5 hours last night and it was really fun

Hmm I'm already $40 in so I should probably just preorder a game to get that $15 back (preorder counts right?). Also when does the promo end?

So basically Sunset Overdrive is the Saint's Rowification of Infamous with Ratchet & Clank-style crazy weaponry.

Anything you spend out of your wallet counts. Since pre-orders are paid in full out of your wallet on PSN, they count. I believe the promo ends at the end of this month.

All I am saying is we may see a jump in Xbox Ones sold, since the $50 price decrease includes the SSO bundle, Assassin's Creed bundle, and The call of Duty Advanced Warfare bundle... those could sell, especially since most people loved playing their call of duty on Xbox systems.

Now if PS4 did something similar it wouldn't even matter... PS4 would win hands down... now it will probably be just a little bit close.

Man, $100 off in less then a year, what does that tell you about MS's decisions...???
Yeah MS is going all-in.

Shows what a god damn stupid idea mandatory Kinect was. If they could have launched a Kinectless bundle for $350 last year they'd be quite a bit ahead in the US and not anywhere near 5 million consoles behind worldwide.

And it's $150 off (30%) in less than a year, and have one or two games bundled in as well. Definite kick in the balls to early adopters. Though anyone who paid $500 for an Xbone Day 1 after all the shit MS tried to do deserves to be kicked in the balls. Hard.

Other than maybe Halo I can't think of a single attractive exclusive the XB1 has. Granted I don't follow the system much, but still, a quick look at their exclusives didn't help.
Sunset Overdrive is the first attractive X1 retail exclusive to me. Scalebound and Quantum Break will probably number 2 and 3. Super Time Force also looks amazing but it's on PC too if I ever HAVE to play it.

Sunset Overdrive scores are coming in higher than I expected. Looks like it will end up a bit higher than Second Son on Metacritic. Just too bad Insomniac gave us years of mediocre Resistance games on PS3 just to jump to Microsoft and put out something like this. fuck 'em.

Yup.

AFAIK, it started 10/1. When I buy something from Amazon or Amazon Warehouse Deals, I see the tax, but I don't see it on preorders I made before 10/1. :whistle2:k
Hmm, I see now that some dishwasher cleaner I bought earlier to day actually WAS taxed, but during checkout it estimated the tax as $0. WTF? I wonder if this is a fluke with going through amazon smile to make the purchase? Sucks.

Tyler do you remember if the sniper rifle helped you much in the first boss fight in Revelations? I notice you beat it on normal, and I'm trying to decide which difficulty to continue on.

Guess I'll take some of that heat off @Therm and mention I didn't enjoy Shadow of Mordor. I stuck with it for a week but am not feeling it. Really wanted to after all the praise. I can see why people might like it, but it isn't for me. High fantasy rarely is, though, so there's that. I'll probably pick it back up when the disc goes dirt cheap so I can get a glimpse at the nemesis system. Still appreciate the recommendations.

And I couldn't care less about S.O., but am happy for Insomniac. Resistance didn't get nearly enough love last gen (2 & 3 are awesome) and Fuse obviously bombed so it's nice to see them make a comeback. The amount of crow being eaten by the detractors has been quite the treat this morning. Gies coming through with that 9.0. Guess the check cleared on time.

I didn't remember the first boss so I had to look it up. Ugh!

It wasn't an incredibly hard fight after you figure out the layout of that area, it's just SO LONG. I'm sure the Sniper Rifle will help, I remember throwing every bit of ammo at him, he's a huge fucking bullet sponge. Make sure to lure him next to all the explosive canisters that you can as well.

I spent way too much time playing Gamecube. Easily my favorite console of that gen. I probably put 1000 hours on SSBM alone and that's being pretty generous

Yeah it wasn't that hard per se, I just kept running out of ammo. Used all the canisters on him too. I beat it first try on casual, but it's hard to tell if it's because I turned the difficulty down, the fact that I had the rifle which does tons of damage, or a combo of both. I might go back and try it on normal with the rifle. But then again ain'tnobodygottimeforthat.jpg

I do want to point out that I never said I disliked SoM. I brought up some problems with it, sure, but that's a different thing entirely.

I've got the Resistance Collection and Fuse, but haven't tried any of them yet. Really need to get started on those. Not sure why they never added trophies to Resistance, though.

I guess they were running their own kind of resistance before jumping ship to Microsoft. :-({|=

I know it doesn't happen every time, but since it has before, I'd recommend turning off the automatic system update on your PS4 just in case it turns out to be a brick update like that one time. Better safe than sorry.

They also never added any of them to PSN either except the handheld games.

I'd like to announce that Munky is now the CFO of TyStotch Games. That stands for Chief Funding Officer. He'll be sending us at least $5k to get Crafty Minor Too off the ground. Thanks and congrats, munky!

Ok, so grain of salt with this, but a couple small hints about what November PS+ will have, from a user on NeoGAF:

Saw most of the Nov PS+ games. Not sure on Vita though. Some more cross buy stuff however.
You will be dissapointed if you are expecting any AAA retail games this month

The other PS4 game has similarities to a PS+ game from this month. Its another well recieved game though.

Not gonna give too many hints, you guys were pretty spot on before. For the other PS4 game, yes its already on the platform as well as others. As for some of the other games. I think one of them hasnt been released on consoles yet

K, based on these three quotes my best guesses would be Rogue Legacy (cross-buy, similar to Spelunky in genre, on PS4 already and other platforms) or 1001 Spikes (cross-buy, similar to Spelunky in setting, on PS4 already and other platforms). I'm hoping for 1001 Spikes, but it's not out in EU yet, meaning that it would have to be launching there this week or it means that EU and US will get different PS4 games which has never happened. Rogue Legacy is awesome but I already platinum'd it. I also think it would be foolish of the developer to go the PS+ route this early, without even a 50% off sale yet. No doubt that game sold very well at launch and should continue to be seeing decent weekly sales thanks to word of mouth. I'm sure it sold MUCH better than 1001 Spikes.

Steamworld Dig would be another possibility.

And here's a bit of evidence as to why this NeoGAF user may be credible:

From September, posted before the games were announced:

meh, just saw the line up for Sept PS+ game, probabaly the worst line up I have seen. Not famliar with many of the games really. Except 1 PS3 game, and I beleive one fairly popular, and old, game on Vita.
not gonna post it, but NA, not sure for EU. PS3 game I was refering to has a needlessly long title. I will likely not be playing any of them. especially with several good games launching in Sept.
edit: after looking up one of the PS4 games, could be a fun MP game. Others could be cool, but never really heard of them.

Sept was a pretty obscure month. 1 PS3 game he recognized was PSASBR (needlessly long title), one popular old Vita was probably Joe Danger, and the fum PS4 MP game could possibly be Sportsfriends.

From October, before the games were announced:

Drive Club , plus 2 indie games. well recieved but older indie games. Havent played either myself.

Not already released on PS4. Other platforms, yes.
PS3 is an older, first in the series of a popular AAA IP. Not really famliar with the other game, other than its old license.

2 older well received indie games not already released on PS4 but were on other platforms were Dust and Spelunky. First in the series AAA game is Arkham Asylum, and other game he wasn't familiar with but knew the old license was D&D Chronicles of Mystara.

So yeah, some of his predictions have been fairly vague but so far a lot of things have matched up. So grain of salt yeah, but now I'm hoping for 1001 Spikes on Wednesday!

You were probably way more prepared for him on casual cuz the other enemies are easier and you replayed sections you already knew so you were able to conserve more ammo and stuff.

I'd say just keep going on casual at this point.

My right thumb really hurts.  I guess its all that strafing from Shadow Warrior.  I dont think I have played a shooter or any game in a long time that made me move around as much as fast.
