I think that's the cheapest I've seen Fatal Frame 3 on PSN. Anyone play it? Is it better than Fatal Frame 2? I've heard people say the gameplay/graphics aren't as good as the previous two. 

Hopefully next week we'll get some more horror game sales. RE: Revelations or RE6 at a decent price would be an instant buy. 

 
I really want to get PvZ, but I am afraid it will make me want to barf. Has anyone that often gets motion sick from FPS games played it? Any issues?
 
seems like a lot of these games have gone on sale lately for regular users are showing up now at the same price on plus. very sneaky sony

I am glad I was willing to wait. I got my Vita in April of 2012, and I have been sitting here waiting for Katamari to drop to a reasonable price pretty much since then. I think it went on sale once or twice, but never at a price that was low enough for me, til now.

I had that exact same question.

So I made a table with all Persona sales I could find for 2014

tl:dr: The last Persona sale, from September, had the best prices (marked on Green) for all the games (not counting PS+ Discounts, marked on Blue) so far.

The only game that is as cheap today as it was on previous sales is Persona 4. Every other game has been further discounted in previous sales.

This is kind of an eternal debate on the internet. Basically, some people find FES to be better due to free movement outside of dungeons and the bonus scenario, while others find P3P to be superior due to its many improvements and the female character's scenario.

I, personally, appreciated portable's fast travel...and its new very easy mode since I was more interested in the story/social links than grinding the game's one huge (and sometimes repetitive and tedious) dungeon. And, despite playing it right after Persona 4 Golden, not being able to walk around didn't really bother me. Go figure.

They already announced the horror games on sale for next week. Neither of the games you mentioned ars there. Since you seem to be a RE fan, I'll give you a juicy tip: this month's Game Informer has a great cover story on RE Revelations 2 and even a little info on RE7.

Ya...the first two are perpetually cheap, but Fatal Frame 3 never seems to go on sale. As for opinions on how it compares to the first two, that's pretty subjective. Some people will say it's the best. Others will say it's the worst.

It's been a while since I played it (on ps2), but I seem to remember the gameplay being a little more polished compared to the first 2. If I remember correctly, the story relates directly to 1 and indirectly to 2, so it's best to play those first (if you haven't played both). All 3 are solid, at any rate.

 
Don't know if this has already been posted but the dev of Binding of Isaac Rebirth mentioned in a comment on Playstation blog that it would be a free PS+ game for November... I think it's for PS3, PS4, and Vita

Lame Atlus sale is sucky. What's the point of having everything slightly more expensive then it usually goes on sale for? 

I'm looking for stuff to round out my cart so that it gets to $100 for the spend $100 get $15 back deal and I would have considered getting a digital copy of stuff like Crimson gem saga and Hexzy force despite already owning the physical versions if they'd had been the standard $5 sale price instead of $7.5

yeah I know it's only an extra $2.5 but I'm not a cheap ass gamer for nothing.

Was almost tempted to pick up Guided fate paradox to fill out the gap until I checked some video reviews for it, looks too grindy for $20.

The Kemco rpgs for psp like End of Serenity and Mystic chronicles looked alright at first glance until i found out they where mobile ports only more expensive then the mobile versions and laden with micro transactions which block off parts of the games like side quests so screw that.

So far my want list is

Sword art online - $39.99

Pier solar $14.99

Fate/Extra $9.99

Atelier Escha and Logy character dlc $14.97

Ar nosurge dlc $4.99

Does anyone have some recommendations for me to fill up the remanding $15.07 I need in order to qualify for the promotion?

 
So....is Tales of Symphonia worth 10? I am on the fence about it mainly because i have heard horrible things about how the games transfered, so could use some advise, thanks
 
I bought garden warfare for ps4 but it didn't register the purchase even tho it took my funds in my wallet for it, doh.

Edit: I'm stupid, I needed to delete the disc application first before being able to download the full digital game.

i was just about to post the same problem, it doesn't show up in my purchase history on the playstation website but it's in my download history on my PS4

i downloaded the game but it won't open the application, i get an error code

what the hell do i do?

update: Opens okay. Says it's still installing, but I can run around and shoot stuff.

I am literally playing Tales of Symphonia right now and there is no question it is worth $10. I saw someone else post something about their being framerate issues or lag or something and I can say without a doubt the digital version that I have put over 30 hours into has not had any lag issues. This is one of my favorite RPGs of all time.

Well worth 10..

It was one of the best games on the GC and released in the series at the time.

Hell you get 2 full Jrpgs for $10.. get it!

Tales of Xillia is pretty good as well. You should definitely give it a try.

 
I know Graces f and Xillia have been out for a couple years, but I'm still not used to Tales games being so cheap. Back before digital sales, I would have to hunt down used copies of Symphonia, Abyss, etc. that weren't much discounted from full retail. Glad things are better, but this new world means I'll be holding out longer on newer Tales games (Xillia 2, Zestiria or whatever) until they get sub-$20. Easier said than done as there are few co-op RPGs.

 
It would be funny if everyone felt that way and Namco stopped localizing Tales games. Frankly, I think the only reason why we get as many as we do is because their flagship brands like Ridge Racer and Tekken are in the crapper.

I think the reason Tales games are cheaper now, and how more of them seem to be getting localized, can somewhat be attributed to digital distribution. Bamco no longer has to worry about making more copies than they can sell, which is why the games (and Atlus') used to be much harder to find. And at lower prices more people will try the games out, thus growing the base for future games.

Sony/Atlus being dicks, and thinking people won't notice. There are a bunch of games on sale this week for more than they usually are. It's a shitty move IMO. I'm planing on picking up the portable Persona's, but not for double what they were the last few sales.
 
Is it safe to buy PvZ Garden Warfare on PS4 yet? Several people here and on Gaf seem to be having trouble with it. Has anyone bought it today and launched it with no issues?

I haven't played Fatal Frame 2 yet, so maybe I'll start with that one since they connect. I had assumed they'd all be stand alone stories. Good to know!

Since when does every sale have to be the 'best sale price' ever? How is anyone being a dick by not matching their best sale price ever? How is it a 'shitty move'? Why in the world do you think they're hoping 'people won't notice'?

If you liked the price last sale, you should have picked it up. There's no guarantee they'll ever have a sale on something again, let alone match the same price. If you don't pick something up during a sale, that's on you -- transferring the blame to sony/atlus (atlus, really, since Sony has no say) makes no sense to me.

I bought mine when the sale went live yesterday and just let it download last night. Went to play today and I get the error code. I already tried restoring licenses and that didn't work so now I deleted it and I'll redownload it and see if that helps.

If anyone else had the same questions about the Tales pack, I was able to use my disc based saves with the psn downloads that came in the combo I bought tonight.

On the Double Fine forums, they said yesterday that they're basically waiting on certification from the console manufacturers, and the release date is out of their hands. Sounding like the promised pre-Halloween release is pretty iffy at this point.
