Now with this Vita TV I should probably click on all the vita games so just maybe I can get them there or even on the PS4. If I press cancel when download starts they stay on my list correct?

Well, I'm done with Wipeout 2048. The HD levels are a real pain, and I don't think the Vita has the precision required for my slow brain to comprehend not smashing into the walls at such stupid speeds. It's crazy how the 2048 levels are so different than the HD levels. More open spaces, and room for wider turns that are practically required on the Vita. 75% trophy completion is enough for me for now.

On another note, I can't stop playing Spelunky. I've only made it to the third world once, but I'm getting pretty awesome at the mines level. Jungle is taking some time to master though.

I also just read that this TVita will support at least 100 games at launch. Vita doesn't even have 100 games! It's got like 15 at most!

I heard the DLC was way easier than the main game.

But also, I heard that's why 2048 is way easier to plat than HD: the wider tracks.

The tracks in HD are crazy. I didn't have a problem on PS3, because the DS3 analog is a lot more precise than the Vita. Maybe when Vita TV comes out though, I can give it another shot.

Correct! I like doing it this way better than going to the web store, which will bring up that very annoying prompt that I have something waiting to be downloaded everytime I turn on my PS3, and especially since I only wanted it to be on my downloaded list only.

Just use the web store and add them to your cart.

I'm glad someone else bright up Wipeout 2048. Man, that game makes me feel like I've never played a video game before and I've been around since the 2600 days. It's weird but it's one of the toughest games I've played since, well, struggling with Spelunky on Xbox. I like Wipeout but I just had to call it quits after skipping my way through half of it. 75% completion? Well done! I think I'm at about 15%.

Is it October yet for Plus? Kind of a bummer month after so many great ones chained together.

Killzone arrives in the mail tomorrow so I'm looking forward to that. I haven't done anything multiplayer on Vita besides Dragon's Crown.

Pretty awesome and surprising Sony's getting into the micro-console business and anything that could help Vita is good news. What a great deal to get a pseudo-PS4 in a second room, too. I worry how few games actually don't require Vita-specific controls. Everything from LBP to Uncharted does. Maybe they will put out updates? The only good ones I can think of that don't are the Vanillaware games.

Well it only does that if you add it to your queue after you purchase it, otherwise it just sits in your list.

Final hours of the Music Unlimited year of service sale. I loaded up my account with credit only to discover that if you have an active account you cannot extend it at the sale price. Love the service but am pretty pissed about this. Wish I had checked before buying a $50 psn card. I am sure I will use it elsewhere, but just a warning if anyone else was going to extend at the sale price.

Yes, it's possible that a site that took $750K from Microsoft just doesn't like any high profile Sony exclusives. It's also possible that I'm a unicorn.
and we all thought you were just glad to see us.

in other news, breakfuss, i didn't even bother reading your post because if i did i'd reply and this would never end. for the record, i don't trust politicians, either, even if they kiss babies. ultimately, i agree with the above post fully, even the unicorn part. i've seen corruption first hand and it's ugly, and i don't trust corporations by default.

The DS4 does little for Vita touchscreen use because the DS4 has a touchpad, not a touchscreen. I guess it could awkwardly emulate the back touch panel if there are any games that use that but not the touchscreen.
a cursor might solve it; w/o having used the ds4 it's hard to know. i agree it's likely it wouldn't be as good, but then if i think of it like a mouse, it might be 'serviceable'. heck, using the ps4 camera and a ds4 might even work (with an on screen cursor). it wouldn't be great for precision (rhythm games, picking up lums in rayman) but it would work for menus on low-touch games.

Disregarding how I feel about it in general. Does anyone else think Vita TV is a weird name? I get the fact they want to make it obvious that it plays vita games. But it's like if Nintendo came out with something similar and called it DS TV.
i do... sort of? it's not terrible. 'VTV' is an alright short version. Renaming it entirely would be odd. As long as they market it well it could do really well. Playstation TV might have worked, too? But... I don't know. I'm okay with it.

So let me get this straight. I don't have to use that stupid new "redesigned" PS Store on the PS3? All I need is to add them to my cart and they will stay on my downloads right? Man that should make things 100x better, I swear the PS Store is awful, it was so much better before!

Another question, if I add them to my cart using the web store, can it automatically download on my PS3?

You still need to "purchase" them and check out, but otherwise yes that is correct, they will be in your download list and you can also queue them up to download when you turn on your PS3 or it does it automatically via PS+ auto-updating.

Agreed about the PS Store, I didn't particularly care for the last one either, but the redesign is just so...slow...I refrain from using it whenever possible. Thank goodness for the online store, that might be Sony's best move in years

It's one of Sony's best moves no doubt, the store its insanely slow lol. But thanks for clarifying I still need to "purchase". Yay for the web store!!! lol

Cool. Thanks! I hate going to the PS Store on the PS3 since, like everyone else has already stated, it is so slow. Being able to just purchase games at the webstore to be placed on the download list is so much better.

Well it only does that if you add it to your queue after you purchase it, otherwise it just sits in your list.

Nothing on PSN this week for me. As for the PSV TV discussion, it makes the handheld more useful for me. I would never buy a Vita since I own an iPhone and don't want to carry multiple devices. That said, I don't know of any games on it I would want. It's ahead of Ouya and Wii U in desirability with this though.

*thud* I wake up to find out one of Vita's exclusives is being ported to ps3 in the form of Assassin's Creed. Next up Soul Sacrifice or maybe Gravity Rush? I mean I thought one of the big points of Vita TV was the ability to let you do this already? You've succeeded in confusing me Sony. Don't everyone rush forward and say it doesn't take much to :p

I think Vita TV has the potential to improve access and choice for current and prospective Vita gamers. In a marketplace over saturated with mobile devices all vying for our attention this could be a smart move by Sony. Now come on Gaikai, would you please just deliver on all the absurd promises you've made, thanks.

I am getting better and better at the game myself. The trouble is that I start my gaming night with a quick Spelunky game... does it still count as one game if you mash square and quickly restart? Backlog progress has stalled.

I have been putting a huge number of hours into Spelunky on Vita. The Jungle levels are harder than the ice world, but not as hard as the Temple levels. The Temple is crazy difficult. The best I've done is a few 1-1 to 4-2 runs. And yes, I have the same problem with hitting quick restart many times, when I should be going to bed. LOL. One thing I wish is that we could change our character at least if we go with the not quick restart option. The only way I see to do it is to back all the way out to the main menu and then go back in again.

I had to stop playing Spelunky on Vita.  I got too addicted to it too fast!  Then I tried to get that stupid gold key to finish the shortcut to the temple, but I just can't take finding the key, bringing it with me for several levels, then dying in some frustrating way a few levels before I can get rid of it!

Two PS1 top-sellers still not on the Vita. That surprises me. I can remote play both of them, but it would be nice to have them installed on my Vita.

Assassin's Creed is Ubisoft. Sony doesn't have all that much control over it, short of moneyhatting... but any real sales AC:L would cause to spike likely already happened.

I don't see SS or GR getting ported.

Still doesn't answer the question as to why not just wait until Vita TV is out to play it on your home TV that way? And RO is getting ported to ps3 in Japan with RO Ace coming out so I don't see why SS would be any different. Maybe wouldn't come here though.

Either Ubisoft wasn't aware of the Vita TV, or more likely, they like money and decided it the amount it would cost them to port AC:L to PS3 was less than their projected sales for a PS3 version.

We still aren't sure if the Vita TV will officially make it outside of Japan.

I can't imagine porting AC:L to consoles cost all that much.  I really don't see it doing much harm to the Vita since it's an older game and didn't get the best reviews.  I think my biggest frustration about it is that Ubisoft is putting resources towards porting the game rather then towards creating a new Vita Assassin's Creed game.

Not waiting for Vita TV because it's heading to 360 & PC as well, not just PS3. We all know Ubi loves them some formally-exclusive-now-ported-everywhere cash money.

I'd find that hard to believe. Vita TV is poised to breathe new life into the Vita brand and likely to be heavily touted as a PS4 remote play device (especially in the US where we generally have larger homes and may have more TV's). It's also likely to be sold as a Gaikai player when/if that ever launches. There's too much potential for them not to be planning a US launch. I'm betting it will be bundled with the PS4 and/or bundled with the Vita pretty soon after it launches. I also wouldn't be surprised if they heavily subsidize the cost with subscriptions to things like Gaikai and Music Unlimited.

I hope you're right, I'd like to pick one up.

So do I sell my Vita copy of Liberation and get the PSN version when it comes out or not? Hmmm.
I think it's going to take a good amount of work to make that game look good and play good in HD unless they created it with that in mind. The game was a lot of fun, but I think most people will feel like it's a watered down version of AC if they play it on consoles. I'd keep your Vita version unless they announce something compelling that will be added to the console version.

Also, i'd love to see if they even include the multiplayer in the console version. That was such a complete joke and waste of resources for that game. I've yet to hear of anyone who tried it for more than 5 minutes.

i'd say it's guaranteed. people have been reposting the E3 conference where they talked about "bringing vita to the living room"... at the time, most just thought they were talking about remote play, etc.

But really, the Vita TV makes absolute sense for the Sony vision... a $100 console that can extend your ps4, expand the vita/psp/ps1 market, and serve not only as a media server but as a Gaikai server (ie, something along the lines of Netflix for PS2/3 games).

it potentially speaks to both the hardcore ps4 at launch buyers as well as casual (or less well off) users looking for a cheap console/media device.

Getting that into people's homes for $100 is key to everything they're talking about. Before long we'll see them integrated into Sony Tvs as well. Assuming the Gaikia service is everything we hope, it's seriously kind of mindblowing thinking about what might be possible for a $100 console + subscription.

This is also a way to get that rumored PS4/Vita Bundle at a reasonable price. Sell it both as a vita player (good for all those ps+ games people are accruing) as well as a way to remote play your PS4 to another TV.

Seriously, I think vitaTV is the centerpiece to their vision... it's definitely seeing international release. Those stealthy bastards knew what they were doing with both the vita and ps+, that's for sure.

I pride myself on beating and getting the plat from every AC game since 2. I hated myself after AC:Liberation. So uninspiring, I was glad I borrowed it and didn't lose any money.

I came back to it after a year and was severely disappointed. I think the idea of a big game on the Vita was so enticing I cut it slack originally. With Mercenary it's pretty clear with enough dev time/talent you can get that AAA experience on the Vita. It's not AAA console level but it's pretty close.

Yeah, it'll probably be a while before Liberation HD comes out. If I plat the Vita version before then, I won't feel as bad.

The PSN online store kind of sucks at sorting.  Was trying to browse Vita games by price, but there's no way to filter out all the PSP games on the list.  So I was looking for a while then I realized I didn't see Sunflowers.  So I searched it separately and it's labeled as a "PSN Game" not a "Vita" game even though it's only playable on the Vita.  Makes me wonder how many other games are mislabeled like that. Stupid.

As I suspected earlier, the reason that Star Wars Pinball is free for PS+ is that they have new tables coming out soon, which is confirmed by the email I just got:

The pinball wizards at Zen Studios are pleased to announce Star Wars™ Pinball: Balance of the Force. The pack features three new tables in the critically acclaimed pinball series that immerses players in the Star Wars™universe. The tables will be available for download on digital stores later this fall.

"The ancient Jedi prophecy foretold one who would bring balance to the Force. They probably didn't imagine that balance would come in the form of two huge, equally matched armadas engaged in desperate battle above Endor, or in the form of a rogue Jedi nearly eliminating his own order and then, much later, his Sith master,” said Neil Sorens, Zen Studios Creative Director. “If those prophets could have seen this all come to pass in the new Balance of the Force pinball tables, they’d be flipping out."

Star Wars Pinball: Balance of the Force table lineup:

The fate of the galaxy is in your hands! Help the rebellion destroy the Sith and the fearsome Death Star in the Star Wars: Episode VIReturn of the Jedi table. Aid Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Princess Leia, Lando Calrissian, R2-D2, and C-3PO in their fight against the Sith in order to restore peace to the galaxy.

Pay tribute to the Dark Lord of the Sith in a table dedicated to Darth Vader. Use the dark side of the Force to mercilessly pursue the Jedi and Rebel Alliance and face off with Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker.

Support the Rebel Alliance's Fleet or the Galactic Empire's Armada, as you lead your side to victory in Star Wars™: Starfighter Assault. The table features legendary Starfighters like the X-wing and TIE Fighter, and iconic vessels like the Millennium Falcon and the Death Star II.

Star Wars Pinball: Balance of the Force will integrate seamlessly into existing Star Wars Pinball games and Zen Studios pinball platforms on digital stores including Xbox LIVE® Arcade, Steam, PlayStation®Network for PlayStation 3 and PS Vita, Nintendo Wii U eShop, Apple App® Store, Google Play™, Windows 8, Mac App® Store and Kindle Fire HD.

Try finding the JP PS1 games on the Vita, its impossible.
