you guys are crazy paying that much for The Last of Us. It is a great game but i got all single player trophies in a week.

I never got to touch the mp tho (awd, no online pass, $37, flipped back for 33.xx and 30 ds4 bonus/20 beyond 2 bonus).

I thought $4 was well worth it, but $37 or something like that and you can't recoup any of that... you guys are hardcore.

uncharted 2 and uncharted 3 both had goty editions also, so im hoping for that or at least 10/20ish someday.

 crazy how some games hold their value so long, i.e. TLOU sale of $3x.xx, and others like Remember Me are 13.50 so quick. Capcom has been going the way of ubisoft with super cheap drops lately tho and too much dlc...

Oh the MP is great, played it almost as much as the SP before I dumped it. I agree though, physical has been $40 very recently and will probably be even lower after the holidays. Of course it's well worth $37 regardless.

 
I work at Target, so I picked up a $50 PSN card for ~$43 (TM discount + Red Card)

Purchased

The Last of Us

Walking Dead PS3

Dead Island

Alien Breed Trilogy

And that equaled almost exactly $50.

So with the $10 back, I basically got it all for $33

I was waiting for a good sale for to get me the $10 I needed to get to the $50 threshold for the promo.  The Walking Dead Game for Vita was that trigger.  Funny, just last week, I was looking at the The Walking Dead Game product page thinking "I'm sure this will be on sale next week or so", and sure enough, it is.    

 
That leaked Gamestop ad had TLoU for $40 during Black Friday, if I remember correctly. I'm personally going to wait and hope Amazon at least matches that.

Quick Question: Does the Red Dead Redemption Collection contain the same content as the Disc GOTY version? Or are some DLCs missing? From reading the description I'm not totally sure.

Ok so I think I've made too many transactions in a short period of time because now my card info keeps coming up as invalid. Is this a "just wait a few days" kind of a thing or do I need to contact Sony?

I don't know what the Game of the Year version has in it, but the Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare Collection includes Read Dead Redemption, Undead Nightmare, Liars and Cheats Pack, and Legends and Killers Pack.

I haven't played RDR yet (was a hardcore PC-only guy until relatively recently), but it seems like most of the DLC is included then, so I'll bite.
 
Well, I played a friend's copy of TLOU and the load times were unbearable, after all it is a game about immersion. I bought the digital version because I loved the story and the mp is very satisfying. Also, the much improved load times. Got myself some Dead Island GOTY for 5$ and TWD for my Vita. Pretty happy with the purchases I made.

 
Is anyone else having trouble with things they queued up on the web not downloading on the system?  Only thing that's actually downloaded today is Hotline Miami and I've had the system on and idling for several hours.

 
Got the House of the Dead Bundle since it seemed like such a great deal. Between that the free RE chronicles a while back anyone looking for a reason to get a cheap move controller and gun attachment has a decent amount of content to play through.

 
No.  I bought Hotline Miami on the web and queue it for download to my PS3.  It took no more than a few minutes to download.  But was this on your PS3 or Vita that you were having problems with?

PS3. Finally gave up and went and downloaded some of the stuff from the list but then I can't find things like the Chronicles of Mystara demo in my list because I have no idea how long ago I had downloaded it.

 
Ok, couldn't help myself and just bought The Last of Us, Red Dead Redemption and Resident Evil 4. At least I'm going to get $10 cash back now, I tell myself. Damn game buying addiction...

Did you hate the cutscenes that much? ;) Unless you're constantly quitting the game and restarting, or skipping the cutscenes, the game in typical Naughty Dog fashion doesn't have any load screens after the initial load, which is admittedly very long.

 
I don't think the Chronicles of Mystara has a demo for the PS3. At least, it doesn't have one at this moment on the webstore.

I don't have any games that are made to be played with the Sharpshooter, so I can't say how much different it would play that with just the Move controller (or Move + navigation controller).

However, when I was shopping for the navigation controller at Best Buy about a month ago, I believe they had the Sharpshooter on clearance along with the navigation controllers. I don't know if those would still be in stock or how likely your store is to have one (stores vary A LOT in how well they're stocked for video game merchandise). But it'd be worth a try, if there's a Best Buy near you.

You don't need the Sharpshooter for the HOTD games. The HOTD bundle for $7.50 is a super deal. All 3 of the games are on rails, so you only need the Move motion controller. If you have the handgun shell, which Best Buy is currently closing out for 2 or 3 bucks, it's even better. Only thing I don't like about the Move controller is it loses calibration on point and shoot gun games. The 3 move controllers I had last year did and the two I just bought a couple of weeks ago do the same thing.

I'm getting the impression from reviews that this Castlevania Harmony of Dispair that goes on sale next week is mainly a co-op affair. Is that right? I was kind of interested in it until I learned that, since I prefer single player shit. Is this a correct assessment of the gameplay?

It's very playable, and beatable single player. The game simply scales the difficulty harder when co-op partners are added. The online is 6 player co-op, but if you like the DS Castlevanias, it's definitely worth getting - even if you just want to play it 1 player.

Yes you are correct. You can play it single player but it is best played via online or local co-op. It's best to level up attacks by yourself, but the game is really meant to be played in a group.

I found that especially at the beginning a lot of the bosses are very hard by yourself. Don't even try the DLC levels alone. They're the hardest stages to run through single player.

Wizardry games for me traditionally have been about grinding and then shaping your characters through class changes. Initial stat rolling is fairly important IMHO since vitality directly affects how much bonus HP you get per level (and thus helping you stay alive). Making sure each character has a high score in his specialty stat is usually very important. At low levels, it's useful to get stat bonuses at each level up. At the higher levels, not as important. Dungeon crawlers like this are really niche and I wouldnt consider this to be an "entry-level" game for anyone who hasn't played this genre or series before.

 
Since that RE: Chronicles HD Collection dropped in price on the EU store too, I was thinking about grabbing it... is it any fun? More important, is it any fun WITHOUT a Move controller, as I don't plan of buying one?
 
I'm having a hard time believing people enjoy these light gun games with a standard controller.  Oh well, different strokes.

 
I'm wondering if I ought to buy Last of Us at $35 or wait until it's inevitably $10-20 or perhaps even free with Plus.  I have a huge backlog, and actiony games aren't normally my favorite anyway.
