Tampa Bay has Valtteri Filppula now. He was my fiancé's favorite red wing :( Anyway my HUT team in NHL 14 consists of Red Wings and Tampa Players. No one expensive, but I have been having fun with Filppula, Abdelkader, and the massive Bishop in goal.

Please add me. I need some more beginner friends to play. This is my first NHL game.

Not to look a gift horse in the mouth but I wish The Wolf Among Us was out for Vita and free on that instead of free on Xbox Live. I restarted The Walking Dead on Vita after finishing episode 1 on the PS3, just get more time to play on it. I barely play the Xbox anymore though, maybe this will push me to.

I think I got the Wolf Among Us free on PSN already.
 
I'm sure it will be just the first chapter that's free like they did with Walking Dead.  I would rather have the ability to get the whole season thing for $5.

 
Really really tempted to grab Guacamelee right now, but my gut tells me it'll be PS+ in the next year. Or, it'll go on discount again by the time I get around to it in the backlog. 

 
I sometimes think about doing a spreadsheet for all of the claims here that X game will have to go free for PS+ in Y months so we can see who is Nostradamus and who is Michael Pachter.

If you're not going to play it right away then there's probably not a lot of point in buying it now. Though you should play it now….

Everyone and their mother claims that every game will be PS+ in the future. I can't believe I actually let it deter me sometimes....If something is on sale and you really want it just go for it peeps.

 
But anything can be free on plus! When people ask stupid question you get stupid answers. Buy something if u want it then complain later and ask for a refund if it becomes free.

It is rather annoying. At this point Ive seen a claim that every game will be free at some point. Its a dumb mentality when the games that are going to be supposedly free are dirt cheap like Guacamelee. I mean its only $3.75.

Same on Castle of Illusion, happy to be getting that this week. I'm still holding out for Braid which amazingly I've missed every sale on either for XBL or PSN. I kinda stopped buying games on XBL because I see my PS3 being hooked up for a lot longer than my 360. A sale on Bastion might be my one exception for XBL purchases.

 
If anyone in the thread hasn't played through Journey yet you really should. I know I'm late to the party but I finished it on the 19th and can't get the experience out of my head. I was also thankful for the people that suggested playing through in one sitting. It clocks in at around 2 hours.

I don't have any PS Plus predictions currently but I wish Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor's Edge would drop below $30 digitally.

I've picked up about a half dozen games over the last few weeks, they've definitely been good to me. XBL has been better, but their holiday sales have always been better. But that's ok, over the last year PSN has been getting way better deals on a week-to-week basis. Let XBL have its two weeks.

I don't know it seems like XBL sales this year have been pretty weak sauce. I mean old sports games for a daily deal really? I agree though the PSN sales have been pretty sweet...maybe too much so. I just keep buying games forever adding to my backlog.

I actually just beat it about a month ago, truly fantastic. It sounds overblown to say it but I liken it to a spiritual experience conveyed via video games. I know its not the same but since people often namedrop Journey with it, I think I'm going to bite on Proteus this week.

I actually just beat it about a month ago, truly fantastic. It sounds overblown to say it but I liken it to a spiritual experience conveyed via video games. I know its not the same but since people often namedrop Journey with it, I think I'm going to bite on Proteus this week.

No not really overblown, I'd say that is what I took away from it as well. Not to beat a dead horse but if there was ever a game to say video games can be art I'd say Journey is it.

I don't have any PS Plus predictions currently but I wish Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor's Edge would drop below $30 digitally.

Get Guacamelee! I was wishy washy. Beat it last night and restarted last night on hard mode. Fun times. Great game. About 10 hrs or so for cheap cheap. (Edit: damn autocorrect)

I'm glad others enjoy Journey, but man it did nothing for me.  Follow a guy around for a couple hours, solve a few puzzles, and lots of walking.

 
Well back on the subject of journey, I think it really conveyed an experience, like an excellent piece of film or literature.  It was interactive but not incredibly "game-like" I think thats why it didn't resonate with a lot of gamers.  On the other hand, if you aren't familiar with gaming, there is an impossible barrier between you and the game which is why non-gamers will largely never experience it.  Especially since they just drop you in the world with little to no direction, in that sense its a bit hardcore.  It took me a good hour to figure out what the hell was going on or what they wanted me to do.

Well I will just say that Proteus is nowhere near the league Journey is in. I enjoyed it, but I had no real financial investment in it (got it with 5 or so other games for $5 in a humble bundle) so I'm not sure if I would have felt buyers remorse at $6. It's definitely original, and a great game to relax to, but don't expect it to wow you like Journey.

Hated Journey. Don't sell me a game without gameplay and call it art. There was nothing special about the experience and to me, Journey is the most overrated game this generation.
