In regards to the $10 voucher, I don't know if it had anything to do with it but I did sign up for their RSVP link that was emailed to me a couple of days ago about the press conference announcing the PS4. Maybe they sent them out to people who did that? No idea
I never signed up for that so I don't think that matters. Sucks a lot of people that deserved the codes didn't get one. People that deserve the code to me are people who buy from the PSN on a regular basis. I don't think there are any requirements to get the credit. Its just the luck of getting the message.

No. I have no idea what you are talking about and I got the $10 ;). We have 4 or 5 accounts on our system (some for my kids plus a random one my son made to play online games). Only my main PS+ account got the credit. It seems at a minimum it was PS+ members at least, right? Though if not all PS+ members got it that really sucks (especially if some non-PS+ people got it).

I just like to think of it as a rebate for buying Unfinished Swan at full price only to have that $3.75 sale for PS+ recently. It is Sony hooking me up for that ;).

No people who did not have plus and never had it got the code.

Well then I guess it was just random. For the amount of PSN titles I have bought I am glad I got one but it does suck that it was random versus based off of purchase history, being plus, or something like that. Still a nice gesture all in all regardless
No people who did not have plus and never had it got the code.
Well, now, that sucks. But they must have at least bought stuff on PSN, right?
Well, now, that sucks. But they must have at least bought stuff on PSN, right?
I didn't ask them but I'd expect so. I mean it wouldn't really make sense for someone with no PS+ and doesn't spend money on PSN to get a "loyal customer reward".
Well, now, that sucks. But they must have at least bought stuff on PSN, right?
Some reported they spent $5 over the last year got the code. I have been + all this time until next time, spent $45 last month, and no code :(
Unless you figured out the pattern of who they sent them out to, I'm not sure why you assume that you should've gotten one.
I didn't assume. I was curious what they'd say, so I asked them directly.
Entitlement issues.
no, i don't 'expect' one. i was curious as to what they say. would i have taken $10 of digital cash? sure. but i was more curious how they'd treat an established customer that spends a lot of money and was motivated enough to call them.

You wanted to guilt them into giving you free money? You said you got pissed because they didn't give you money, so it sounds like you expected it rather than it only being about curiosity.

Firsky, is it true you didn't get one? If anyone is entitled, it should be you - what with all the work you do which can only benefit Sony and PSN in particular via this thread (and others). Sheesh...
http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/02/21/final-fantasy-xiv-a-realm-reborn/

http://entry.ffxiv.com/beta/na

Square is taking beta applications for FFXIV, which mentions having a code that came with FFXIII giving you priority access. What is this code that it's talking about?
It's talking about the Square Enix members code.

Every Square Enix game comes with a members code, to register the game online. If you do register them online it's like Nintendo Club with rewards. The FFXIII code in particular gave you an in-game FFXIV item (faster running boots) if you registered FFXIII + linked a FFXIV account, though that offer is probably dead with 1.0 dead.

I'm pretty sure that their user database has no information on what any of their users do beyond purchase stuff on Sony's services. I don't really care about it anyway. I've got better things to do than worry about a $10 credit that was sent out to random people.
Why is the $10 code still up for speculation? It's:
Hey analyst get me a spreadsheet of all PSN users, assign a random number, sort, now select this number for promo codes. Done.
Sorting is unnecessary. Use random number to index the existing array, label visited, repeat.
Sorting millions of entries is very expensive.
You wanted to guilt them into giving you free money? You said you got pissed because they didn't give you money, so it sounds like you expected it rather than it only being about curiosity.
um. no, i didn't want to 'guilt' them. you can't guilt a billion dollar company over $10 anyway. i asked two questions -- are the emails still being sent out? No. And a followup was a very kindly worded 'How do you define loyal, then?' asked in a non-confrontational way (more of a 'what was required to get one?'). At no point did I ask for $10, because frankly, I don't need $10.

If they never worded it as being for 'loyal' customers i'd never have called in the first place. I don't care if they randomly give out $100 psn cards or free PS4s. But if that $10 credit goes to enough people that it makes all the blogs, and they label it as being for 'loyal' customers, it's silly not to expect backlash from loyal customers who didn't get it. If it was to random people, say that. "You've been selected to receive..." gets the same point across.

I wasn't even trying to create a debate about it. I called them to find out if the emails were still going out, reported back to the people here that might be still waiting, mentioned the guy was jerky, and now am being called 'entitled'. Screw that, they're the ones who offended customers, I just asked about it.

Motivated to call? You're right, they should've given you $100!

Other than your inefficient method, I agree that we should just let it go now.

Because people want to know how Sony defines loyalty...

It could be something simple, like having an account since 2009.
It could be owning PlayStation Plus.
It could be buying a Vita.
It could be spending $500 dollars on the PSN.
It could be buying PlayStation Move Heroes and still buy games.

Who knows, but if I thought I was loyal to Sony and didn't get one, I would sure wonder why. Obviously we could all be more loyal (even people like Hakoom), but it's just good to know how they view loyalty.

Well one thing that isn't random and affected people with purchases was the games appearing free for PS+ users and shit.

Anyway they will get the refund plus Morgan Haro said on twitter that they will keep the games, so free SWAG.

One lesson you should retain from this, should you see free games on US to download for free while the store is updating and you have moneyz in your cart, grab the games you will be recompensated, stayin with the gamez and the moneyz.

On another note Chad Warden is back.
Yeah how dare people get even slightly upset when they don't get a free 10 dollar credit. All while the real loyal fans who just bought a PS3 last black friday get 10 dollars in credit.
Holy crap. That is incredible. I love PS+.

Leaving are Sleeping Dogs, Vanquish, Limbo, Wipeout 2048, and Lumines Electronic Symphony. Sleeping Dogs was only up for a month, and Mass Effect 3 will likewise only be up for a month.

With DoA5+ coming out, seems weird they'd offer the original for free. That'd be like if SSF4 was coming out, so they decided to release the original SF4 on PS+.

Thought MGS HD & Joe Danger 2 (got the XBLA one from Raptr, so fun) is pretty cool.

Hmm...that's not too bad, but I won't be using my last EU 30 day trial on it. I mean, ME3 has already been $5 and DOA5 is a fighting game, which most people seem to hate. And keep in mind that the MGS HD Collection is almost certainly the Vita one, not the PS3 one.

yes , you are right regarding MGS

but where did u see ME3 for $5 ?

I love my US PS Plus (and understand the simple reality of how international licensing agreements work), but this is the first month where the EU PS Plus stuff has made me jealous. Both Mass Effect 3 and DoA5 are excellent (and only 5 months old in the latter's case) and the MGS HD Collection is a really well executed re-release.

Hate to jump on what seems to be a monthly wagon, but this is depressing. Can we just agree to stop acknowledging EU PS+'s existence?

@the person inquiring about ME3, it was $10 at BBY with Gamer Magazine Coupon. Perhaps with reward points he got it even lower for $5.

I agree, those games are all just awesome. So jealous right now

Certainly decent enough to consider trying to setup a EU profile on a US console and grab PS+ for a year. Maybe get some nice double plat stacking too.

DOA5+ is a Vita game. The DLC for both versions are cross-buy, so if they give the original game for free, that could encourage users to buy some DLC, which coincidentally works with the new version you should buy.

Unless there was another recent EU 30-day trial, doesn't it expire on March 1st? The one that was for France.
I think the code expires then. Once you've redeemed the code, I think you keep the balance in your wallet.
Could someone please confirm this. I may redeem the code and keep my $10 for later but I don't want to lose it if it really expires on 3/5.
Frisky any idea how this expiration thing works on the PSN?

Quick question for you - if you got multiple EU 30-day trial codes, can you apply them after your current PS+ subscription ends? As I understand you can't use the 30-day codes if you are currently a subscriber, but can I theoretically use one code each month after my subscription ends?

How would you get stacking platinums? Don't you have to use different accounts to have both EU and US PS Plus at the same time? If not, I am intrigued. Also, even if you can use the same account, I don't see how you could get a second platinum just because you got it EU instead of US. Maybe I am reading too much into your comment and you are just saying you could have a platinum for each user ID.
Well the original was just Decade Duels but this one and the xbox one has Plus at the end. Like Dwilla said, there are more dlc cards and I think more rule changes.

All I can say is that if you are not good at this card game, the beginning is really rough on you. I don't really get the rules but my first opponent summoned like 3 monsters every turn and just destroyed me.
I played competitive Yugioh from Jan. 2003-Aug. 2005 but yeah I had to get used to the rules now and try to pause the game when I can to figure out what the AI was doing at times. Can't count how many times I dashboarded to be able to beat the final bosses.
Unless there was another recent EU 30-day trial, doesn't it expire on March 1st? The one that was for France.
Yes, that one does expire March 1. I got another code from Facebook that doesn't have an expiration date, so as far as I know it's still good. The France one is the one I used this month to check out Sleeping Dogs (awesome) and F1 Race Stars (awful).
Quick question for you - if you got multiple EU 30-day trial codes, can you apply them after your current PS+ subscription ends? As I understand you can't use the 30-day codes if you are currently a subscriber, but can I theoretically use one code each month after my subscription ends?
My assumption was that you can't use more than 1 trial per account. Maybe someone else knows more on this than me. What I was going to do was just create a new EU account every time I had a working 1 month trial code to use and they have something I want. Kind of a pain in the ass, but I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work. You just have to play the games right away, because you're going to lose access to them in a month.

Not sure if someone mentioned it, but they also updated Ratchet and Clank FFA in EU. Apparently they're getting both the upcoming Ratchet game (same as US) and a voucher code for Motorstorm RC. Between that and their month of plus... I really hope US brings something good. I normally don't mind this stuff, but it's seriously getting too vast to ignore.

Thanks Admiralvic for reminding me about this. I need to play FFA so I can get the offer for the US.
