Yeah, but Growlanser has busty anime girls and is generally more light-hearted than the other two. I say buy it - it's not like there are many worthwhile JRPGs on the horizon, so even if it takes you a year or three to get to it, these games will still hold up well since they were all originally PS1 games.
Also the battle system is quite a bit different with it being in real time(well, kinda). It's definitely not as similar in vein as FFT and TO are to each other.

Can't wait to hear more info on Mass Effect. Right now its inbetween me buying that or Guilty Gear come Tuesday. Really hope its using an upgraded battle system, or I might just wait on the price of the whole trilogy to drop.
It would be my first persona game though would I'd be ok to just play this one? If it was god of war I prolly would have bought it already. Lol that does look like the one tho that will be the last one to drop in price. I don't know y.
Probably the best Persona for a newbie to jump in with.

Persona 4 Golden is amazing, probably my favorite game of all time. P4G is how you do a port/remake, they put in so many extra features like the TV listings and extra social-links. There's just so much new content included with the already massive game. If you like RPGs (especially JRPGs) I really recommend it. Every day's great at your Junes!
Is Kens Rage on PSN?

Dont have access to my ps3 at the moment.
Neither do I but I'm about 92% sure that it's not.

I've only seen Marie(on lv2, not very far yet) so far, didn't know there were other new social links. I look forward to discovering them.
Is Growlanser a sale or permanent price drop? It's just $10 off, right? ($14.99 from $24.99?)
I believe it's half off and not permanent.
I believe it's half off and not permanent.
That kinda sucks because I'm really tempted to buy this, but I have Tactics Ogre and Disgaea 3 for my new vita, and throwing growlanser into the mix will just be backlogging it for months (especially if I activate my free PS+ and get all those games). Plus, being the digital version I can't resell it later if I have to clear up my backlog (which I've done with boxed games).

:cold::cry: I think I gotta pass up this sale, sadly.

Might not go on a sale again for a while, if ever. I'm planning to pick it up tomorrow, despite knowing I likely wont touch it for atleast a month or two

I held off on picking persona up yet. I ordered hot shots for $10 to maybe hold me over a bit. I'll get it as soon as there is a sale though.

The Drop for this week:
PlayStation 3

Far Cry 3
- (Also on PSN) – Beyond the limits of civilization lies an island, a lawless place ruled by piracy and human misery, where your only escapes are drugs or the muzzle of a gun. This is where you find yourself, trapped in a place that’s forgotten right from wrong, a place that lives by the principles of violence.

In Far Cry 3, players step into the shoes of Jason Brody, stranded on this mysterious tropical island. You dictate how the story unfolds, from the battles you choose to fight down to the allies or enemies you make along the way. Slash, sneak, detonate and shoot your way across the island in a world that has lost all sense of right and wrong. You’ll need more than luck to survive.

Mass Effect Trilogy (Also on PSN) – Experience all three award-winning Mass Effect titles with the Mass Effect Trilogy. This action-packed RPG saga follows the rise of Commander Shepard from Alliance Marine to becoming the galaxy’s most elite soldier — the only soldier who can lead an all-out galactic war against an ancient alien race known as the Reapers.

Heart-pounding action meets gripping interactive storytelling as players decide how their unique story unfolds over all three games. With a team of loyal soldiers at their side, each player decides how they will save the galaxy, from the weapons and abilities they utilize to the relationships they forge or break.

PlayStation Network

UNCHARTED: Fight for Fortune
- (PS Vita) – Uncharted: Fight For Fortune is an action-adventure turn-based card game featuring the heroes and villains from the Uncharted universe. The core gameplay in Uncharted: Fight for Fortune involves creating a team of Faction cards featuring heroes, villains, and mercenaries from the Uncharted universe, then using that team to defeat your opponent while defending yourself from their attacks. Each Faction card can be equipped with powerful Resource and valuable Fortune cards, which enhance their stats and give them special abilities. Once you’ve selected and equipped a card, it’s time to head into battle! During combat, attacks either reduce the health of opposing Faction cards or the health of your opponent. Defeating an opposing Faction card removes it from play, while reducing the health of your opponent to zero wins you the game.

This downloadable game connects up with the hit PlayStation Vita game Uncharted: Golden Abyss for players who want to further expand their card set. Using the 300 artifacts that can be found within Golden Abyss, you can go to battle with other players as well as AI opponents. The game can also be played independently of Golden Abyss, so owning the PS Vita title is not required.

Mass Effect – Set 200 years in the future in an epic universe, Mass Effect places gamers in a vast galactic community in danger of being conquered by a legendary agent gone rogue. A spectacular new vision from legendary developers BioWare, Mass Effect challenges players to lead a squad of freedom fighters as they struggle against threatening armies to restore peace in the land.
Mass Effect is the first in a trilogy of games with an overarching story. As the first human Specter – sworn defenders of galactic peace – your mission is to halt the advancing armies of a legendary agent gone rogue. But as you lead your elite team across hostile alien worlds, you will discover the true threat is far greater than anyone imagined.

Page Chronica – Page Chronica mixes vibrant 2D platforming with vexing word puzzles. As well as guiding the main character Topaz through enchanted storybook worlds, players have to collect the magical alphabet floating about. Collecting and rearranging letters into words correctly lets Topaz unleash spells and attacks, which she can use to take out the evil infesting the stories.

Rotastic – In Rotastic, navigating each course is quite simple – press any button to hook your rope to the nearest anchor point, spin around, gather momentum and release the button to fly from point to point.

While the controls are dead-simple, Rotastic features a wide range of levels and gameplay to challenge your skills! Various goals include collecting gems, escaping deadly traps, battling other players, smashing bricks, perfecting acrobatics, smashing chickens and flying through speed-runs! The solo campaign features nearly 70 levels, offering hours of swing ‘n’ fling fun. Replayability is another big feature; do you have what it takes to earn a gold helmet on each course? Pit your skills against your friends around the world by competing in the leaderboard challenges!

Under Defeat HD Deluxe Edition – Classic shoot ‘em up title Under Defeat lifts off in high definition and with a host of upgrades. Take to the skies to avert the oncoming war and protect the possibility of peace in the empire. Rumbling tank suspensions, massive explosions and dark clouds of smoke, the new HD version presents a further refined iteration of the original with improved artwork, textures and shadowing.

Guardians of Middle-Earth – A shadow grows over Middle-earth as the greatest armies of the Third Age prepare for the coming battle. Take up arms in the clash over Middle-earth with the most powerful heroes from the greatest fantasy epic of all time.

Inspired by The Lord of the Rings saga, Guardians of Middle-earth brings up to 10 players together in five versus five competitive multiplayer battle arenas in the epic setting of Middle-earth. The game offers more than 20 iconic guardians, including Gandalf, Sauron, Gollum, Thráin and many more, for players to control in player versus player (PVP) matches. Gamers will have the ability to connect with other players via an in-game voice communication system, as well as access to a comprehensive online stat and leader board system where they can track friends’ victories and defeats, and more.
DJMAX TECHNIKA TUNE (PS Vita) – A one of a kind music gaming experience built from the ground up for the PS Vita. Based on the hit arcade experience, players use the PS Vita touch screen to interact with a wide variety of songs from all genres. Players are rewarded for continuous play with loads of hidden content including videos, OST tracks, new songs to play, and even a gallery full of images which give insight on into the creation of the game. Players can link their PSN account to join online ranking, customize gameplay, and make use of special in-game bonuses.

Exclusive to TECHNIKA TUNE are two new types of notes, created to make use of PS Vita’s rear touch panel and add a new level of depth to gameplay. With the largest soundtrack found in the series to date and a vault full of unlockable content, DJMAX TECHNIKA TUNE is sure to deliver the same addictive experience that has invaded arcades nationwide!

Shaun White: Snowboarding – Enter a snowboarding world of total freedom. You can create your own experience in this game, and choose when, where, how and with whom you want to ride. Developed in close collaboration with Olympic Gold Medalist Shaun White — the most successful snowboarder in the history of the sport.

PlayStation 2 Classics

Chulip – Pucker up, big guy. You found the girl of your dreams, but you need a strong heart and a stellar reputation to tell her just how you feel. Become a better man by helping the citizens above and below ground in this strange and wonderful place called Long Life Town in this unusual, adorable strategy adventure.
Whaaat? NI NO KUNI demo! Sign me up!
This! Never would've guessed there would be a demo for Ni no Kuni. Can't wait. Unlikely but a PSN release of the game would be amazing.

Oh good, I'll know if Ni No Kuni we'll be worth keeping a reserve on. I like the artstyle as a movie, but unsure if it will translate well as a video game.

I heard that events that occur in Mass Effect will impact events in Mass Effect 3. I'm guessing since I have Mass Effect 2, I should get 1 and 3 on PS3 as well.

As usual I waited till practically the last minute to make my purchaes (if any) for the week. I bit on the two additional characters for Hyperdimension Neptunia 2 and Untold Legends 2 since I loved the first one. I've heard TerRover is just awful and after a quick search of the thread the few comments I saw made it seem like a pass even for a couple bucks. Or does someone want to convince me it's worth picking up anyway? I'm kinda hoping it becomes a PS+ freebie at some point.

Ni No Kuni demo? Nice! I got to play it very briefly at Namco's booth at SDCC back in July and I loved it. Looking forward to playing the full demo!

I've found a new avenue of stuff to record: XMB Splash Screens. The first is Quantum Conundrum, which was the last game I would've expected to see what it has. I also can't tell where it ends and where it begins, so this will just be ten minutes of that. I only wish I still had the Ghostbusters game because that's the #1 splash screen on PS3 for me.

Splash screen? Maybe I'm not awake enough, sorry

i always find it lazy when they don't have a splash screen or audio. it's like cmon, have some pride in your work. also when the game box hardly describes the games in it. I picked up Zone of the Enders hd collection and the box is more about MGS revengeance demo and it says this game contains : MGS Revengeance demo and doesnt even list the two ZoE games, its like ugh, have some pride in what you are doing developers! (or marketers/publishers/idk)

Such a silly thing to complain about.

Most people buying Zone of the Ender HD know that it includes the first 2 games and those who don't know its a collection of the first 2 titles. Why should they waste game cover space making sure YOU KNOW it's the first 2 games, when "collection" does just that in 1 word?

Anyone pick up the Gravity Rush DLCs? Are they any good, do they add anything to the main story of the game?

Also, anyone platinum Gravity Rush? I'm too lazy to get gold on all 20 challenges, so I'm not gonna go for it, even though I loved the main game.

I got the military DLC and it gives you some upgrades (cause it stops short if I recall correctly), but they don't add a lot. They're basically side stories that are nice, but don't really scream value. Also the side missions are okay, but they're pretty short lived. I would say the DLC takes 2 horus and isn't too fantastic.

Also I platinumed Gravity Daze in like 3 or 4 days.

Thanks. I probably won't get them until they're on sale, but I like how they actually included a few missions with them, and they aren't just new outfits for Kat.

Honestly speaking, I got a STRONG feeling that they were "Cut" content and were later finished then sold as DLC. For those reason alone, I rather they broke them up at a cheaper price.

I got all the Gravity Rush DLC and I believe they might just be key download since they are only about 100 kb each. Aside from that , it didn't bother me. They were nice, not the greatest of dlc.

it is a silly thing to complain about, but i hate how they take up so much cover space advertising a demo for a game that is completely different. Everyone hates on EA but at least they leave their advertising for future games as just insert pamplets inside the game. #FirstWorldSillyComplaints
hey admiralvic that Black Ops Declassified plat is very impressive. i 100% world at war and all zombie dlcs, but couldnt get into that one at all. for the 15 min i tried it anyway.

I think you miss the point... Zone of the Enders INFAMOUSLY sold because it had a demo for Metal Gear Solid 2, which probably lead to this choice. Sure it's not great logic, but I wouldn't be shocked if the people in marketing were like "hey it worked once". With that being said, there are more annoying choices. First and foremost, All-Stars displaying it's a cross buy on the boxart over a sticker. Bioshock Infinite also does a pretty poor job displaying Bioshock, but none of these games had great boxart, so I don't really mind.

I think Declassified will go down as the hardest Call of Duty platinum, which says a lot. I did nothing but swear during the campaign and some of the side trophies were a nightmare. Like beating that one stage without taking damage is about as likely as catching santa setting up your gifts in a jewish household. Not impossible, but WAY too many things have to go right to accomplish it. Sadly the same goes for the 8 kills with 4 bullet trophy, since you only have a 10% or so chance of being able to do it. Typically something will go wrong (like you shoot a guy and he moves or they're poorly lined up or your shot is just amazingly hard to hit [like through 1 guys hand and anothers foot...]), which really makes me question how much thought they put into the layout.
Whaaat? NI NO KUNI demo! Sign me up!
Probably just the E3 demo. Which I would like to get my hands on without being on a show floor anyway. Here's my writeup if you want to read it
I hate that splash screen so much. It's way too fucking loud. Love the game though.
The Ratchet & Clank : A Crack In Time splash screen is also really loud. You're playing the game at normal volume, and then you quit out, and the splash screen blares at you. Most games don't do this, so I'm not sure why these few do.

I think one of the Hasbro Family Game Night games has a rather loud splash screen as well, way louder than the actual game. It always catches me off guard.

I would give Sony 5 DOLLARS AMERICAN if they would add the ability to mute splash screen music as an option. I'll never understand why it's there.
