Ooooh. I wanted to get Odin Sphere for the PS2 but it's rare and expensive. Is it worth getting on the PS3?
Some have mentioned that the version on PSN is based on the European release of the game, which has less slowdown than the U.S. version.
Some have mentioned that the version on PSN is based on the European release of the game, which has less slowdown than the U.S. version.
Pretty much this. & for a game that's considered rare & expensive, $5 for a digital version that's based on the better version that fixes technical issues is a great deal.
WOW is it horrible. Insanely slow and convoluted. If you go to the playstation blog and look in the Playstation Network forums there are tons of topics about people complaining how bad the store sucks ass. I posted in the Blogcast forums asking them to talk about the feedback. They must have had no focus group testing at all. The fact that when I go to the vita new content and have to sift thorough about 100 pieces of LBP add-ons is INSANE.

I hope someone over there wakes up and makes some changes.
Take solace in the fact that their new store is probably losing them tons of money. Whoever designed that piece of crap needs to be fired. I used to go to the store all the time and buy stuff and just look around, but now I avoid it as much as possible. It's impossible to actually find anything in there because it's designed so poorly.

Yea I actually made up my mind shortly after posting that, haha. Thanks guys.

Picked up Two Worlds II GotY for $5. It's a steal at that price. If you can get past the jankiness of well, everything, it's actually a pretty decent and charming game. I'm enjoying it way more than the overrated snoozefest known as Skyrim.

hey, I don't know if anyone noticed, but on the official Sega blog (as well as joystiq), it says that the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis Collection for PSP is supposed to be $5 (or 3.50 for plus users)

I already wrote on the Sega blog, but is there any other source we should contact? Might be hard being the holidays and all...

FYI for those thinking about getting TW 2 on 360 since the disk is so cheap, the MSRP of the expansion is $30 so that makes this PS3 collection an even better buy.

ITT: a game with a greatest hits release and hundreds of thousands of copies in the wild is "considered rare and expensive".
I have a 32gb vita card with 18gb left and I guess if I fill that one up I will buy another 32gb card. So my account is on my vita and if I switch that card out I would only loose the games on the card and not have to transfer my account every time? Also does anybody know if I could get an external hard drive on my ps3 and not have to worry about transferring everything over?
You don't have to transfer your account every time. I'm currently operating with three 4GB cards so I swap them out all the time, it's pretty simple, though it does kinda screw up where you position your downloadable game bubbles. Also, I think you need to make sure to sync all your trophies before you swap memory cards or you'll lose them.

I agree with this fully. I only search this thread right here to figure out what's on sale or even available. Which is bad for Sony. I never suddenly see a title on the PSN and think "That looks interesting. I think I'll give it a shot". I used to look around though all the time before they set up this menagerie.

Seriously. Was redeeming some of that free Dragon Age DLC and when I started the download it took me back to the old store format for like 2 pages. Brought a tear to my eyes.

It's not that rare. You can get a copy for less then $20 on Amazon Marketplace. The $5 digital price of course is a lot better but the price for a physical copy isn't outrageous.

I'd still suggest getting the PSN version for the fact it gets rid of the AWFUL slowdown when lots of enemies are on the screen at once, especially during some boss fights.
In the minority here but I enjoy the new store design a lot. Especially the stream lined search.
that is the only good thing in the new store. everything else is trash.
Hi, does Bestbuy.com deliver PSN card codes by email? Thanks.
Yes, but it usually takes 30-60 minutes to go through.
Yes, but it usually takes 30-60 minutes to go through.
The first time I ordered from bestbuy I got it almost instantly. The second time I waited 2 days and then cancelled my order. And that was my last time orderimg from there.

My theory is that the second one got delayed because I ordered it late at night on a weekend, but who knows.

my god that slowdown was horrible on the first boss fight. when you are the blue valk chic fighting the undead huge boss. i remember i was like omg super slow mo! #OdinSphereSlowDown2007

also i got tons of psn codes when that super deal was going on over summer. got them all instantly usually, but it may have changed since then.
that is the only good thing in the new store. everything else is trash.
The store definitely has improvements over the old store. One plus on the new store is that when you go to a game's page you can access it's screenshots, trailers, add-ons, etc all from that 1 page.
Oh for fuck's sake. SCEE is making SCEA look worse by the day.
I won't be losing any sleep over 4 Minis, 2 of which I already have through PS+.

I can't get the search to work right it shows a bunch of weird stuff that doesn't even have the same starting letters I don't know what's up with it maybe it's using some sort of advanced predictive model that shows what I "really" want to see
Oh for fuck's sake. SCEE is making SCEA look worse by the day.
Really? There's nothing stopping you from doing it and redeeming the codes on your EU account.

Wanna run that by everybody who owns a Vita?
Wanna run that by everybody who owns a Vita?
U can do it for the vita but its to much work.
In the minority here but I enjoy the new store design a lot. Especially the stream lined search.
Same. It's just the slowness that bugs the crap outta me but that's been getting a *little* better.

I got Big Sky Infinity, and I have never been more confused in my life. Sometimes I go slow, sometimes I go fast, sometimes the screen inverts, and then after what I assume is a good run, I randomly die. I have a top score of 2.2 million in classic, but I don't really know what I'm doing. Scratch that, I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing.

Just picked up:
Hexyz Force
Knights in the Nightmare
Riviera: The Promised Land
Yggdra Union

I will play these in 5 more years.
Same. It's just the slowness that bugs the crap outta me but that's been getting a *little* better.
Agreed. The slowness is generally the only thing I don't like about the store. They need to work on that.

Otherwise I think the design is pretty nice. Tbh, I can barely remember what the old store looked like now. I didn't have my ps3 for long before they updated, and I only used it to get my PS+ free games. Still do, haha.

Same but the older store wasn't lightning fast either. I can't wait for the Web-based shop to open in the U.S.

The old store was list or icon based, it was fine but not flashy. I like the new design, but I prefer speed of finding what I want versus graphical niceties.
SCEA getting anything D: ?

I saw on Joystiq that we are getting Jetpack Joyride tomorrow for free. Not sure how accurate that is.
I saw on Joystiq that we are getting Jetpack Joyride tomorrow for free. Not sure how accurate that is.
It's not accurate. The title of that article is misleading, we're (NA) getting it for free on Monday, December 31.

I don't buy much on XBL (Silver member) but it's still a bit faster than PSN.

And the old store had exactly the same slowness issues when loading info, adding stuff to the cart and such. Gotta be an authentication thing which can be fixed if they really wanted to.

So. Tempting.

If you have a European account you can download it from the EU store now, it went up a few days ago and looks pretty nice on the big screen.
I have no idea what it is but it's slow as hell. You'd think something that can render MGS4 could load a page of text and pictures quickly but nope. If it hasn't been fixed after like 5+ years it never will be.
