One word. Tuners. You can now easily summon monsters with 3000+ attack in the first 2 turns. One of the few gripes I had with Decade Duels, horrible starting deck and the A.I curbstomping you.

I wouldn't reccomend this game if you don't like grinding
I think they stopped making games. There hasn't been a DS game in like 2 years. I loved them. They ended that MMO too
yeah, i kind of figured as much. guess i'll have to stick with tagforce 5 on the ol' psp. it'd be nice to have one on the vita though. i think it'd be perfect with the touchscreen.
Hmmm...already have Closure. It's pretty fun, but people aren't going to be happy about it. Critter Crunch for $1 is awesome though, I don't have that one yet, I wasn't a PS+ member when it was free.
I played the demo for Critter Crunch a while back, and it's awesome. Weird as hell, but awesome. Will be picking that up.
If I have already played Final Fantasy IV on the DS, is there a reason to buy the Final Fantasy IV Collection for the PSP?
it has an extra story that takes place after the game, and then all the chapters of "the after years" that were previously only on the wii(i think)

Finished Chronovolt the other day, it's a lot easier than I thought, but it was still annoying in places. I think the tedium of finding good shortcuts and the overall lack of good control neutralized all other positives from the game, so it's pretty meh.

I never played Critter Crunch or Closure, are they good?

Both are very good. I'd put Critter Crunch over Closure if you were only going to buy one though.

Critter Crunch was the first game I got free for PS+ when I joined a month or so after they started it. It a super fun game and well worth the price.
The Lord of the Rings game is pretty fun. It does take a minute or two to get into matches though but I haven't experienced any disconnects personally.
I just wish when you're in a party it connects to a game. Sucks we only got to connect in 1 game but luckily we didn't have a disconnection. The servers are pretty shitty.
Frisky,
Yugioh was taken off XBLA last year, do you have any insight into whether it's going back on there or is this now a PSN "exclusive" ?
"Players who downloaded Yu-Gi-Oh Decade Duels previously through Xbox LIVE® Arcade will be able to download Yu-Gi-Oh! Decade Duels Plus for free."

I definitely get that the Prologus of Dissidia 012 only nets an Aerith unlock in the main game (one of my most beloved characters), but what I'm curious about is people think the Prologue is worth $1.49 if my backlog is huge and I'm very concerned about if I'll ever get to Dissidia 012 if I buy it because of its reputed extreme length. How long is Prologus? Does the Aeris unlock save work properly on Vita? More simply, I'm worried if I spend $9.99 on Dissidia 012 I may never start it (or at least not for awhile) as it's supposedly an acquired taste and I'm curious if people think the $1.49 'demo' is worth it to see if I get addicted to it.

Thanks but when Frisky first posted, that info wasn't there. He added it later when he searched Konami's site.

The Aerith assist unlock works fine on the vita. I just got done doing this. All you need is a prologus save.

If you just want to try it out, I say why not go ahead and drop the 1.50

woah woah woah! Did you just use your backlog to justify passing on a game?! Using logic isn't allowed on these forums... you just look at the $ sign and ignore the 50 games waiting for you. But seriously, if you have doubts $1.50 if a small price to pay to determine if you have any interest in the game.
Is there any reason to buy BOTH Dissidia games? or is Duodecim the far superior game?
Just get Duodecim, it's superior and it includes the originals story after you beat the game.

This should be part of an oath all members must pledge to when signing up for this site.

Does that list show Skyrim Dlc?

I may have cared 6 months ago, too little too late, on that.

Critter Crunch is a great game. I had a lot of fun with it.

Critter Crunch is indeed awesome. I bought it for....maybe $5 ($3?) many months ago. Played the hell out of it. It gets tough towards the end - like most games - but is super charming and well worth the buck.

Anyone have a working 3D USA patched 1.01 Ridge Racer retail game? I'd rather not have to rebuy the on sale 3D Licence version if I can get my existing one to work? Can't find any reliable googled info on it. Doesn't work on PS Display, btw.

Closure
will Closure replace The King of Fighters XIII this week !!!!!?

In addition to the free DLC characters for PS All-Stars on Tuesday, it seems there'll be some new minions as well, according to the Asian PS site. Though seeing as there's 3 packs, 6 minions each, in addition to that bundle, I have a feeling they won't be free.
When does the current Big Sky Infinity sale end? Will I have a chance to try the demo first?
Since it's not listed on the "Last Chance" section of the PS+ Update, it should be active for at least one more week. So yes, you should be able to try out the demo next Tuesday.

To anyone on the fence about Critter Crunch, I paid 6 dollars for it when it first came out and after playing it, would gladly pay 15-20 if asked to buy it now. looooooooved that game.

1 dollar is a steal.
My nephew and I haven't played any of the newer Yu-Gi-Oh games, only played forbidden memories, how much has changed since then?
Oh man now that was a Yugi Oh game I really liked. I never got to the end cause of a stupid boss at a temple.
Note that the loading time comments only refer to the PSX version of VI.
Mmmm now that might keep me away from getting VI
Damn, tons of praise for Critter Crunch on here. Definitely looking forward to it!
One of the best psn games I've played in a while.
Mmmm now that might keep me away from getting VI
I've been playing it on the vita and haven't had a bit of problems. Granted it has a slight load time (compared to SNES) but it's way faster than it was on the PS1 and compared to most games I've played barely existent.
When does the current Big Sky Infinity sale end? Will I have a chance to try the demo first?
I bought big Sky just now on sale and apparently cannot get past the intro tutorial. It seems like the control inputs it is telling me to use dont work so I just die over and over and over again. I would not recommend it.

Why the heck isnt FF3 on sale? Its the only FF game I dont have on my Vita now and I dont really want to pay 20 bucks for it

Anyone know if the Final Fantasy PsOne Classic deals are going to expire next week with the update? (I really want to grab those but can't until next Thursday-Friday-ish.)

(I also apologize if this has already been answered I don't have time today to actually browse the whole thread which is what I usually do because I usually find other deals while doing so but I don't have the extra time today.)

Looks like it should still be here. No red star.

The blog post said it'll be a 2 week long sale.

I am so confused right now. I hear some people say that the load times are horrible and some say that they are not that bad for Final Fantasy VI. I have never played FFVI and I love the 2d Final Fantasy games like I and II on my PSP. I plan on getting it to play on my PSV. And for $5 it couldn't hurt.

Get FFVI. Best $5 you can spend, especially if you never played it.

also lol @ sale on BYGE, I just beat/100% it at like 3am this morning. Great Game.

Was just having a niche to buy FF9 from PSN a couple weeks ago when I got my g/f into playing FF7. Glad I waited, thanks!

The load times were only bad compared to the SNES version. Plus it sounds like they aren't as bad on the Vita thanks to the superior hardware. You can also accelerate disc load times in the options menu. For never having played it, buy it for $5, since you don't have the comparison to the othet version you'll barely notice the load times, but you WILL get to play one of the best RPGs ever madr.

The load times are annoying just because pressing the menu button used to bring it up instantly, and on PS1 there was a noticeable hang. Its not as botched as the GBA version, but not ideal for a first playthrough imo.

The deal breaker for me is the music. Every so often it makes a kinda skipping noise or cuts out for a moment. I honestly think the loading causes it. I bought it last time it was on sale but i've since bought the Virtual Console version because I can't handle the music not being perfect.

The whole load time thing for FF6 is as always just based on people's personal tastes.

I could not stand the load times for the menus and battles in FF6 on PS1. This was probably around 2007 when I tried playing it on PS1. While I did play the original (FF3) on SNES, the game came out in like 1993 or 94. So I hadnt played the game in about 15 years. I highly doubt my having played the original jaded my opinion that much as my memory has never been good and only gets worse as I get older of course.

I just think I cant stand waiting even a split second for anything as basic as a fight screen or menu in an RPG. Remember too, this is a JRPG from the days when they made you battle every two steps. So hundreds of times between each town you have to stop and battle which means you wait a second or two each time for the screen to pop up.

EDIT: I also loved FF3/6 It is my favorite RPG and one of my favorite games of all time. So even though I couldnt play it with load times anyone interested in the game should still try it.

I'd play the game mute and with 15 second galactrix load times if it meant the alternative was not playing one of the most awesome rpgs ever made. The battle system alone was and still is one of the best jrpg along with magic/esper learning and the stats they increase and the summons and special moves and the possibility of having mog/gau/umaro/gogo and kefka and the emperor and cid. Such great characters and story and writing. i even love the lil sprite graphics. for $5 if you have any interest in rpgs and you havn't played VI get it. I loved fft and ffvii, but i think vi would be the worst to miss out on. also get ffvii / fft if you havn't!

and yeah the load times on ct ps1 were pretty bothersome having played it on snes, but still better than skipping out on the experience.

also the soundtracks for all these games are insanely awesome. i always listen to the instrumental remixesn so reminiscent.

If 1-2 sec load times are bad I have no idea how you play any modern game...

yeah he would have hated playing through Bayonetta on PS3 pre patch like myself and a bunch of others did. or puzzle quest galactrix or mass effect elevators...duke nukem forever respawns, etc, lol

You obviously dont know of the load times to which I am referring to. Obviously all disc based games have loading times when first booting up and at certain points during the game depending on many factors. These are expected and not an issue when they only happen here and there. What I am referring to in FF3/6 happens every minute or so since most battles dont take very long and as I said before every two steps a new battle occurs. It is incessant.

See my response above for what I meant. However I do know what you refer to about Bayonetta and your right that would have pissed me off to no end to have the game pause constantly. Many people complained about that so I woudlnt have been alone.

Also, I do hate waiting too long during respawns. I remember playing the new Splatterhouse. Every time you died, it had to load and the loading took maybe 30-45 seconds at a time. That was very annoying.

So maybe I am just pissy about load times!

I guess to me there are plenty of good games to play that dont require incessant loading so I dont have time to waste on those lesser games! :)

Rockstar does it right. When starting the game make it load for several minutes so that there is very limited loading if any at all during game play.
