I don't really get this spend $50 promo. How much is $50? That's the number after 49, right? Any help would be appreciated. Also, which Final Fantasy game should I get?
Keep in mind, there are multiple values between 49 and 50. You should be safe and spend every possible amount in between just to be safe.

Anyone know if the $10 credit sony sent out last week can be used towards the "$10 back for every $50 spent" deal?

Thanks! That's exactly what I was thinking about doing...

Forgive me for a couple of noob questions. I looked back for a couple of pages and didn't find what I was looking for:

1. Just to confirm, the $50 spent/ $10 back deal can be done cumulatively through a few orders. That is, I don't need to spend $50 on a single order to get it? (since I spent $20 a day ago on two games).

2. If I get the PS+ subscription for 12 months (+3 bonus months), this $49 will count towards my $10 back?

3. The $10 returned...is that in the form of PSN credit or actually a refund on my credit card?

Thanks to anybody who can clarify for me!!

1) they will calculate the total at the end of the promotion, and for every $50 you spent you get $10. $100 spent will get $20, $150 spent will get $30, etc.
2) They said in one of the comments in the their blog that the sub for PS Plus for a year does work. If you are concern, buy a 50 cents avatar pic.
3) In the form of PSN credit around mid April or so.

Hmm I was considering buying a PS+ subscription, but then I thought of a potential problem. If I buy a PS4 this year, even if it has PS+ support day one (which I'm fairly sure is going to happen), it won't have the "Instant Game Collection" that people love so much about PS+ currently.

Instant Game Collection (IGC) first started when the PS3 was already an old game console, so Sony and third parties already had a massive list of old titles that have already seen their time at retail and basically they weren't going to be losing much sales off really old software.

But that won't be the case with PS4, since it won't have any back catalogue to pick from, all titles will be brand new, and I just can't imagine Sony giving away free brand new games for a brand new game console at launch. Maybe for like a small indie game or something, but nothing on the level of Resident Evil 5 or Vanquish, etc.

So without IGC on PS4 (at least for a year or so?), I likely won't find it very compelling to have PS+ on PS4. I know it'll last for many years on PS3 and Vita, but with PS4 out, it will be hard to go back to PS3 and it's terribly sluggish OS and horrible installation times. Those are just some thoughts I've had, while debating back and forth whether to extend my subscription or not.

Also I've been a bit frustrated since I just spent $40 at PSN store a few days before this promotion started, so I'm trying to find ways to avoid spending more since I feel semi-screwed. Anyone care to push me over the edge? I have 5 months left in my subscription.

Well shouldn't the Vita have the IGC for awhile since there is no unit replacing it. With a Vita coming my way, renewing my already renewed PS+ is worth it for me.

The VITA is really amazing so it is worth it. Only handheld I have ever cared for since I outgrew my Nintendo years ago.

I'm definitely excited to get it but I really hope Sony announces more Jrpgs. I don't they have released a new nonported/remastered jrpg yet.

That would be cool. Even though the VITA has a smaller library than most games I am super stoked for DOA on the VITA this month. I love this handheld for fighters.
Is there any difference between RE CVX & RE 4 on 360 vs PS3?
I don't know about RE4 360 but RE4 on the PS3 has terribly compressed/low sample rate in-game audio compared the Wii/GCN version. The game has the content of the Wii version minus motion controls but many parts of the game itself seems based on the PS2/PC version.

Code Veronica on the other hand is much upgraded.

But I digress, the reason I want CVXHD on the PS3 is because.

1.) I have all the other modern RE games on PS3 (And PC)
2.) I hate the 360 controller
3.) I hate XBL
4.) I hate the 360 dashboard (Ads, Ads,Ads!)

As much as I hate Sony for all their stupid ass dumb decisions in this generation. I still prefer The PSN Store(Despite my issues with it) over the XBL Market place, the PS controller over the 360 controller, etc.

i think they'll figure something out. even if at first it's ports of stuff we all know is going to be coming to ps4 like, say, angry birds or whatever. the x86 architecture of the ps4 should make filling the ps4 psn full of games that exist on pc relatively easy.

first year or so of ps+ was lackluster, even stopped my sub for little while. then it got better an kept improving since. i feel it be same for ps4 but since we have ps3/vita as back up, it be better service all around while we wait for ps+ on ps4 too improve

Question about $10 Promo. From what I read, I guess the credit expires on March 5, so

(a) Does that mean it has to be used by March 5, or Does it just need to be redeemed into your account by March 5; also

(b) If it does need to be used by March 5, what happens if I have credit in my account already, Do I have to spend that credit first, or does the first $10 out count.

Thanks.

Just look at it as FREE MONEY which it is. Just buy anything you wanted to get when it was on sale. Voila. Its on sale for ten dollars less.

I would imagine the other answer would redeem by March 5 but not spend. How would Sony know which $10 is credit and which is regular money when its all in a pile?

Again though just buy ANYTHING if you're concerned. I'm buying R&C:FFA at half price essentially. FREE MONEY!

In the "redeem soon" reminder email they sent me it specifically said at the bottom "Remember your code expires March 5, 2013." which would lead me to believe that as long as you redeem the code by that date and add the funds to your wallet then you should be fine.

Once I get these two downloads done, I'll probably do stream of some of the games that are on sale for an hour or two. I'm looking to do One Piece Pirate Warriors and Ridge Racer 7 at least, though I can throw in a few others (Velocity, Noby Noby Boy, and GTA San Andreas) if you want to see them. I'll try to get the stream started by 3 PM EST for those that want to check it out.

While it's hard to say which path Sony will go, here are some of the possibilities in my opinion...

1) We don't get plus on day 1. Vita didn't have it, no reason the PS4 has to have it.
2) Sony is able to get some really minor things on the store (perhaps some older titles) and is able to give them away.
3) Sony makes a single (or maybe several smaller titles) with the express goal of making them free for plus and paid for others. Like with the Wii U, Nintendo made it a no brainer to buy the DX edition, since it came with Nintendo Land (and other stuff). This wouldn't be too shocking, since they're IGCed inFAMOUS 2, All 4 One (which was newer at the time), Uncharted Golden Abyss, Gravity Daze (newer at the time) and WipEout 2048, which all probably still get sales at retail locations.
4) They make it a season pass service to start. Like buy plus, get the Killzone Map packs for free. Some people might not like this one, but it would influence additional buyers, plus add additional experience to plus.
5) Make plus something of a beta program, where they can try out soon to be free features ahead of everyone else. While this is unlikely, I think a good number of people would have paid to play PS1 classics on the Vita a little earlier.

im just hoping they have something like they just started with ps3 store online.
Where even if you dont have a ps3, you could still purchase/queue the ps+ offerings so you didnt miss out on anything, like getting the vita plus offerings now even if you dont have a vita. I dont plan on buying a ps4 anytime soon, but it would be awesome to do what i did with the vita, to buy the new system and already have a backlog of 10 games for free already. that's my only hope of having ps+ til 2016... i keep trying to talk myself into/out of this 15 months for $40...

Is the one piece pirate warriors game any good? I know it ends next update and I was just wondering if it's worth buying at 25 bucks.
btw does the 3months promo stack?
meaning if i purchase 2 years, do i get 6months?
FINALLY, a question worth everyone's while.

As I said a little earlier, I'll be doing a stream at about 3 PM EST or so to try that out and play a few other games (RR7 and maybe a few others that people here want to see) that are on sale at the moment.

Since it's a manga / anime game and a musou game, you're going to get a LOT of varied opinions (though most will probably tell you it's good).

I personally thought it was bad from both fronts, but that's just me. To explain (as I've done in the past on this game...), I thought it was bad for the following reasons.

1) Many arcs did not make the cut. I understand they can't do them all in 1 run, but the game is very TOP heavy. The game glosses over most of how the story starts and mostly focuses on the later arcs, which haven't been in games.
2) Character selection is very weak. You get the strawhat crew and 4 additional characters.
3) Alt logs are practically tacked on. The alternate logs let you play as ___ characters story, but they only appear in placed they did in the story. This results in some characters, like Whitebeard, having a single stage to go though.
4) The upgrade system was completely luck based and quite annoying.
5) Online is limited to 2 people and has no party system so to speak.

With this being said, the combat is what you would expect from a musou game. Fun, but gets old after a while.
Been debating on Escape Plan for a long time, but I think I'm just gonna bite on Super Stardust
Super Stardust is awesome. I've heard pretty mixed things on Escape Plan, but haven't actually tried it myself.

Escape plan is fun but can get extremely frustrating at times. You have to touch and swipe and back touch and pinch both forward and back screens and scroll and touch again and swipe again and stop and ARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!

Its one thing to figure out a puzzle. Its another thing to do all these touch movements to successfully complete a level.
how do you figure out exactly how long your ps+ sub is for?
Account>transaction management>services list>PS+, click on the PS+ which has subscription next to it. Or you can press information on one of the free games you have downloaded from PS+ and see when it expires.
Anyone have an estimate what time the 12 + 3 months PS+ deal expires today? I need to go out and buy a PSN card.
It expires on Tuesday when the PS Store is updated around 6 PM EST.

They released a patch that makes some of those touch movements to buttons so it makes it less frustrating but there are still some levels that are annoying.

Oh ok. I was afraid that the combat would get boring. I was hoping the boss battles and platforming would lessen it. I was kinda hoping to learn what happened in the story. I saw some of the anime but stopped so I was hoping this game would give a general ideal of what happened.

The platforming and stuff only appears in the games main story. Outside of that, the game is your standard... do / kill stuff till the general appears gameplay. (this is also how online plays)

There is enough of the story there, just random large chunks are missing. Like Shanks (the red haired guy from the first chapter / episode like 3) doesn't appear in the game, along with a number of other extremely popular / important characters. The overview is good, but it's nowhere near the amount of effort we've seen in a Naruto game or Hokuto Musou.
yeap and if you were to spend it on PS+ now before March 4...
you are effectively getting 15months for $30
awesome deal
Man I wish I had gotten that e-mail
March 12 most likely.
Thanks, that will give me enough time to play the new version (rental) before deciding on what to buy.
Got PS+ just last November but couldn't resist the extra 3 months + $10 back. Now I'm good through 2/2015 ^^
Same here. Thanks for the info Frisky! :applause:
