I thought the same thing, fantastic description lol.

Good news for VITA owners: CRUSH isn't listed as one of the working PSP games for the system but (I just bought the game and downloaded it on my Vita and) it works! I've been eying up this game for almost 2 years now (won't drop below $10 at my local TRU) so for $5 I thought it was a steal.

My friend has been talking up the Persona games and I've never played them so I'm waiting for a sale too. I heard P4 is being rereleased for the Vita which is a nice change of pace.

I kind of hope they don't do one, but instead just have a nice sale for Spring Fever. The selections last year weren't terribly appealing. I had all the "Best PS3" games from previous sales and "Best PSN Exclusives" weren't anything special. I don't own a PSP and don't care about Minis.

I really hope they do that sale again. It would be awesome if they made PS+ a Vita service and do Vita sales.

February is about to end, and Sony still has not announced the PS GC Sale for 2012.:whistle2:(
They just announced it on their twitter a few minutes ago. Ask and ye shall receive.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012...ice-awards-2012-nominees-you-decide-tomorrow/
And my concerns were thusly fulfilled:

Best PSN Exclusive:
inFAMOUS Festival of Blood - Should win, hopefully will, was 20% off PS+
PixelJunk Shooter 2 - Already own, 50% off PS+
TETRIS - Already own, 50% off

Best PSN Game:
inFAMOUS Festival of Blood - Should win, hopefully will, was 20% off PS+, double nomination
Plants vs. Zombies - Already own, Free on PS+
Resident Evil 4 - Already own, 50% off PS+

Best PSN Game Playable Online:
Hard Corps: Uprising - Already own, 50% off
Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition - Do not want, was 50% off PS+
TETRIS - Already own, 50% off, double nomination

Best PlayStation Move Game:
4Elements HD - Already own, 50% off PS+
Dungeon Defenders - Do not want, was 50% off PS+
Dungeon Hunter: Alliance - Already own, 30% off PS+

Best 3D Game:
Dungeon Defenders - Do not want, was 50% off PS+, double nomination
God of War: Origins Collection - Own on Disc
The Sly Collection - Own on Disc

Best PSOne Classic: - Good category with games that haven't had sales
Chrono Trigger (PS3/PSP)
Parasite Eve (PS3/PSP)
Xenogears (PS3/PSP)

Best Mini Game:
Angry Birds - Already Own, 50% off
The Impossible Game - Already own, Free on PS+
PAC-MAN Championship Edition - Non mini version has been 50% off

PlayStation Community Award – Best Indie:
Dungeon Defenders - Do not want, was 50% off PS+, triple nomination
LIMBO - Already own, 50% off
PixelJunk Shooter 2 - Already own, 50% off PS+, double nomination

I removed Best PSP (because I don't own one and am not familiar with the games) and Best PS3 Full game (because they're easily and cheaply aquireable on disc).

Anyways, I can't speak for PSP, but other than that we're looking at A LOT of repeat sales, especially on PSN games. Hopefully Festival of Blood wins so I can at least pick it up at 50% off.

Sorry for the negativity, but not impressed with list of games. At all.

I just bought Tactics Ogre last night and now there's a pretty good chance it'll be 50% off, effffff.

Hopefully Dissidia wins... More people bought it so that'll probably be the case anyways.

Also want Xenogears; everything else I already own.

I was also thinking about Tactics Ogre. Where have you heard about a discount on it?

Edit again: Ok, i see it in the PSN Blog. I'll pickup either :)

Best PSN Exclusive: Infamous Blood or Pixel Junk Shot 2 (Have Tetris on PSP.
Best PSN Game: Infamous Blood (Already have RE4 on PS2 and Plants v. Zombie on 360)
Best PSN Game Playable Online: Hard Corps or SSF III: Third Strike
Best PS3 Full Game: Have all three already on disc. Maybe As Creed II for the DLC.
Best Move Game: I don't own any of the three so it will be interesting. Leaning towards 4 Elements blindly.
Best 3D Game: Same as Best Move Game
Best PS1: Have Chronotrigger on DS. Never played Xenogears or Parasite Eve
Best Mini Game: Heard Angry Birds was better on cell phone. Have Pacman on 360
Best PSP: Own 012, but not Prologus or Tactics Ogre (No Gamestop copies nearby)
Best Indie: Have Limbo on 360.

I don't know why the text is all misaligned. I won't mind this week being less than awesome, so my wallet can take a rest.
I own the games I want from every category except psone game. So needless to say, go Chrono Trigger!
Too bad everybody owns Chrono Trigger already.

I'm serious. People like that thing for one reason or another and have most likely bought it by now. P.E. or Xenogears are more deserving of votes.

Well you are wrong, since I dont own it. It has never been on sale, so I did not buy it yet. It is the one out of the three I would like most, so it gets my vote.

Chrono Trigger on PS1 is an awful awful port.

The voting really makes no sense as people will simply vote for the games that they want but don't have rather than the 'best' ones. Not that the whole idea is flawed but rather that they should have had the voting and then once the results were in they should have revealed the winners being on-sale.

I applaud Sony for being open about the process but doing so will likely skew the results.

The first nine categories are available for voting with tomorrow's update and the last category will be available on some website that they haven't revealed yet. You'll get a free theme with each vote, which probably aren't going to be good if they're like last year's themes. The website category will get you a code for that theme to complete the collection.

Also like last year, winners will be on sale for 30% off for PSN members and 50% off for PS+ members, so you have no reason to vote for games you own and think should win.

They made some really odd choices for these categories. Under Siege should've been on the Move list, Klonoa shouold've been on the PS1 Classic list, and games like Rochard, Explodemon, Rocketbirds, Renegade Ops, Might & Might Clash of Heroes HD, Stacking, and Tales From Space: About A Blob should be on the list somewhere as some of the biggest snubs on there.

Edit: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012...ecide-tomorrow/comment-page-1/#comment-693480

Seems that these nominees were decided by user ratings.

Those are some odd choices they have in Gamer's Choice, but I am definitely going to be voting for Xenogears (PS1 Classic) and Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together (PSP). Getting those for 30% - 50% off would be awesome! The other categories have a lot of games I have already picked up on sale either on PSN or Xbox Live Deal of the Week, but if there's any games people want votes for, I wouldn't mind assisting.

Chrono Trigger is a wonderful game, but I really would advise against the PS1 version unless you can not experience the game any other way. While the game does have some added anime CS's for some pivotal story moments, the loading times for battle transitions were fairly long. I would recommend the DS version or SNES original. The DS version is the one I consider the best for the added game content and included anime CS's from the PS1 version of Chrono Trigger.
that was an amazing sale period. i picked up the dlc for bio2 and got the burnout game with dlc cheap and that wicked discount on borderlands with all dlc.

psn sales can be amazing but also a bitch if you dont have the funds when the sales go up. btw is bio2 mp still active?
It can be hard to find a match during the day, but weekends are active. Most people play Capture the Sister of Civil War. I just started playing, but it is fun. What is nice is the multiplayer is host based, so in theory it should not shut down...I think.

If infamous wins I'll probably pick it up, but man these choices are pretty meh.

Anyways HOTD3 looks pretty and I hope Sega gives the HD treatment to the other HOTD games and Ghost Squad.

None taken, your list is much more useful. Thanks for posting. 100% agree with your snub list. I know they only have 3 candidates per category, but games like Stranger's Wrath, Trine 2, Echochrome II (Move), Skydrift, and From Dust are also pretty big snubs in my opinion.

Can somebody explain to me why Assassins Creed II is on the list?? Didn't that come out in 2009 or am I missing something? I swear it's Sony making these lame choices in what games go on the list >_>

It was released on PSN on 1/31/2011, which is within the range for eligible titles for the awards. The nominees were chosen by highest user ratings.

FF VII was released at least 2-3 years ago though.

Feb 27 2012 PlayStation Network Regular Scheduled Maintenance on Thursday

+ Posted by Patrick Seybold // Sr. Director, Corporate Communications & Social Media

PlayStation Network will undergo a significant maintenance period on Thursday, March 1st. Maintenance is expected to start at just after 8:00 am Pacific and will last for several hours, until approximately 10pm Pacific. Unlike typical maintenance events, consumers who are already signed-in to PSN will be signed-out, and consumers will be unable to sign in for the duration of the maintenance window. During this time, users won’t be able to access the PlayStation Store, PlayStation Home, Account Management or play online.
PSN enabled websites will not be able to service users, including this one. Please stay tuned to the PlayStation Twitter feed for a notice when PSN is fully back online.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

What I hope wins:
inFAMOUS Festival of Blood
PixelJunk Shooter 2
Resident Evil 4
Xenogears

I'm rather excited for Resident Evil 4 and Festival of Blood especially, I've been eying them up since release but a 50% off sale is fantastic. I'm really impressed with this sale, I can't imagine why people are upset.

I'd assume pretty much everyone who wanted RE4 picked it up 50% off when it was released. PJS 2 was already half off as well. People aren't happy with the sale because there's way to much content that has already been on sale. So it's good for people new to PSN, but long time followers won't get much out of it.

RE4 was only 50% off for PS+ users

i'm surprised more people didn't pick up festival of blood when it was released in oct, it was a perfect game for halloween

Hope the maintenance on Thursday has something to do with Vita. Sucks not being able to see Vita friends online while on PS3 (Or being able to see Vita trophies)

I really get a kick outta how maintenance is gonna start 8am on Thursday and continue for 'several hours' yet the end time quoted is 10PM Pacific time. That's 14 hours, you dummies. That, to me, is NOT 'several hours'.

Hopefully they'll add something GOOD during that time the system is down though.

 What dictionary is that from? They went their several ways? Either way, I get it. We have a differing opinion of the term several. To me, several means 2-3 but way less than 12-14. Hopefully Sony mistakenly put PM in place of AM in regards to the end time.

Wasn't disagreeing, just saw this def and thought I'd post it.

You still might be right, I'm not sure if 14 qualifies as "fewer than many in number or kind" - that's kinda vague.

was from Dictionary.com

I've always thought of it as a couple equals 2, a few is 3-4, and several is anywhere between 5-15, but several doesn't really have an distinct end limit.
