Every bloody fucking thing. God damn. See. This is the kind of content that PS+ should have on a monthly basis.

Does the PS3 have 11 other games on par with the quality of Uncharted 2 to round out of year's worth of free content via PS+?

That's a nice perk, no doubt, one of the best things they've done yet on PS+ IMO. However, are highlights like that enough to justify sealing the deal for many people on PS+? Anyone who still hasn't picked up Uncharted 2 by this point can net all the DLC for an additional $4 over the cost of the regular edition on Amazon.

A monthly basis would be tough. Would they have enough triple A games like Uncharted 2 to round out a year of free content with?

This is just one of the many, many awesome things we've gotten since it started, and I think the main benefit is for people who have Uncharted 2 but not the DLC. Obviously if you have yet to buy Uncharted 2 (what are you waiting for?), you're probably better off just getting the GOTY edition, but for the many who have the vanilla version, this is awesome.

Sony really seems to be stepping up their game with PS+ as of late, especially with the RE4 discount they offered on its release date. I just hope that can maintain that momentum.

PS+ seems to go in phases. There will be a month or two of nothing but minis and 60 min game demos then all of a sudden you get something like the whole Sam and Max series or Plants vs Zombies and several other games back to back. Its like they wait until people are right at the point of saying fuck this service and then make them think its the greatest thing ever.

If you're only interested in getting the basic game and no DLC, this weeks deal on Mahjong Tales: Ancient Wisdom is pretty good. However, if you want all the DLC, head over to Amazon and get the code there.

I know some people were going to wait till the very last second to activate their PS+ subscription and pick up Plants vs. Zombies for free. Well now is that time, this is the last week it's available.

On a side note, is anyone gonna get the new Castlevania? It looks like a lot of fun and I heard it's co-op too. But Payday comes out next week, so I'll probably wait for the inevitable drop in price or a discount to us PS+ users.

Nice brought RE Code Veronica to split with a friend (Since he was awesome enough to buy RE4), and got in a Gameshare group for Castlevania and all its DLC ^_^.

Not to mention all the free Avatars/Uncharted 2 DLC

Pretty awesome update
Maybe this will be asked a bajillion times, but here goes: Code Veronica for a huge RE4 fan - recommend or no?
The two games are very different beasts, although they have some similarities (it's RE after all):
I loved Code Veronica on the Dreamcast, and it's up there with RE 2 and RE 4 as my favorite of the series:
1. RE 2 (based on story...not graphics)
2. RE 4
3. RE (the original, although I do prefer the GC remake better...easier on the eyes)
4. RE Code Veronica
5. All the other nonsense they released in between, and after (RE 3...uggh!, and the last one was just utter nonsense).

I'm sure everyone has their own list (among RE fans that is). If for any reason you dislike backtracking, you can stay away from Code Veronica, though. There's a good reason for the visiting of similar/same areas in the game, but there's a whole lot of it.

Bought Code Veronica. More free avatars with purchase. What is up with Crapcom and free stuff. Usually they are the first ones to charge money for this stuff.
id say no. re4 is pretty modern. cv is old school. even more tankish than re4.
that being said, i will be getting it ;)
:) They almost got my money as well, but then I remembered that I still have my Dreamcast copy. And I played it so much that I think I remember the location of most items (still:lol:). I even ran through the entire Japanese demo a few times:cool:, before the game was ever released on the U.S.
Thanks to everybody who helped me out. I got them last night making a sub account.
Can anyone please detail how to make a proper sub account? I've tried searching online but I haven't found the correct way. Please PM me if it's too long and detailed of a post.

I bought RE 1-3. i played RE 1 and does it look ugly. I don't remember the graphics being this bad but then I'm playing on an HD TV now. The controls feel all wonky too. Still for the price, I guess it's not bad.

It's really good. If you don't know what it is, like kind of a mix between Shadow Complex's Metroidvania-style levels and dial-stick controls, more of a Portal-style focus on puzzles over combat, and it features Half Life 2's gravity gun.
anyone have some thoughts on rochard?
Fantastic game. I met some of the devs this past week at a conference, and it's top notch.
Will NBA 2k12 (PS3) be avail via PSN on Tuesday?
The Playstation blog says the PSP version will be released on PSN, but it doesn't mention a downloadable PS3 version.
The Playstation blog says the PSP version will be released on PSN, but it doesn't mention a downloadable PS3 version.
Damn! I was really hoping it would be available for PS3 via PSN!

So, I'm in a situation where I don't have a PS3 handy. I'm deployed. Is there any way to purchase PS3 downloads from a computer? I downloaded Media Go, and it successfully allowed me to get the free PS1 versions of Resident Evil 1, 2 and 3 since I'm a Plus Subscriber. But I'm finding that the PSN store doesn't seem to include stuff that you can't play on the PSP, like Code Veronica and Resident Evil 4.

So yeah, my question is if anyone knows a way for me to buy PS3 downloads from a PC?

I am new to PS3 and PS+ as of a month or so ago...

So I have a few questions

The automatic update that you can have run every night for two hours...what's the benefit of that etc?

The cloud based save is that beneficial? How do you access your saves?

Sorry for the off the wall questions

Not having to download and install the updates while you sit there/initiate it

Cloud saving is the best feature imo as it is the only way to move locked saves to a different PS3(limited to once every 24 hours)

Basically the cloud storage option becomes a save destination under saved data on the XMB and you can copy your saves to and from there. You can also have it auto upload your saves to the cloud at a specific time, and is on a game by game basis so you choose what uploads automagically

$10 credit for spending $60 in October
20% off Only on PSN titles for PS+ subscribers the first week
PS2 games coming to PSN
This is a fucking SWEET deal IMO. Just look at the line up of games:

October 4 - Eufloria and Rochard (I'm pretty sure Rochard came out last week though)
October 11 - Sideway: New York
October 13 - Sodium Collection
October 18 - Okabu and RocketBirds
October 25 - inFAMOUS: Festival of Blood and PixelJunk Sidescroller

Even though the article didn't mention it, I don't know why Payday: The Heist wouldn't be included in this deal as well. I'm excited either way.

EDIT:Kotaku gave an update to the article saying this will be US-Only but will make it's way to Europe eventually as well.
Well all of these things are good news. It sure would be nice if the ps2 games worked on the vita. An interesting selection too with God Hand and Maximo.
Where did you see announced PS2 games?

And the program will also feature a selection of "rare classic games" added to the store on October 4, including God Hand, GrimGrimoire, Maximo: Ghosts to Glory, Odin Sphere and Ring of Red.

Its in the article

The fine print for the money back offer:
Additionally, users who spend $60 or more out of their PlayStation Network/Sony Entertainment Network wallet through the month of October will get $10 back in November. This includes any of the Only On PSN games, purchases of games, add-ons, movies and TV shows in both the game and video sections of the PlayStation Store, your paid subscriptions for PlayStation Plus or Music Unlimited, movie rentals or purchases through Video Unlimited and any games or virtual items you buy in PlayStation Home.
I don't see anything about the $10 credit having to be spent in November.
