Sony has never done a complete overhaul of the UI, I wouldn't expect them to start now. It's too bad they weren't able to have at least one headlining feature though, like PSN name changes for instance.

I don't want a UI overhaul anyway cause a) the PS4 UI is great and b) the changes they made to the notification section a few updates ago are so absolutely terrible I don't want whoever OK'd that to make anymore changes to the PS4 in any way possible.

 
Is this it for sales this week? Uncharted and very minor discounts on stuff like space hulk? Or is more coming?

Is the first Destiny still worth playing?  I found a copy of it [with expansion 1, 2 and two named ones... missing the last one] for like $10.  Don't know if it's worth playing now that the sequel is out?

I have no answer but the update certainly is slow this week. I see a ton of stuff in the deals section with no listed discount and the only PS+ game that is currently tagged as free on the web store is MGS, everything else is still normal price.

It's a fun game but it's more fun if you have someone else to play with an most of us have moved on to Destiny 2. In any case I wouldn't get it unless is the complete collection, which should include:

Destiny (base game)

Exp 1: The Dark Below

Exp 2: House of Wolves

The Taken King

Rise of Iron

Absolutely worth getting. Destiny 2 is just more of the same great gameplay with minor adjustments here and there. You'll have a great time with it even alone,just make sure the codes for the DLC (especially the taken king) are valid. The game would be garbage at this point without that gamechanging expansion....and only worth $3

Do keep in mind, though: if nobody at all is playing it,you'll be missing out on a few key points of the game like strikes and raids and pvp

if you have never experienced destiny, I’d say it’s worth it to try it out. Then you can decide if you want to jump into destiny 2, if you’re still interested. Like others have said, destiny 2 is more of the same. Destiny 1 would be better if you had a co op buddy; I recently went back to finish up some of what I missed, and matchmaking couldn’t find anyone to play with for the strikes cause most have moved on to destiny 2.

Wouldn't surprise me, store still looks like a mess (at least on my PS4.) Multiple things listed in the deal area with no price drop at all and there is nothing displaying where it shows "PS Plus Deals" except for some Neverwinter thing.

Does any one have any experience with RBI Baseball 17?  I have generally heard not great things about it but I don't know if that is people trying to compare it to The Show or if it in general is just a mess.  Without having enough time to invest in The Show the last two baseball games I have played is Super Mega Baseball (PS4) and Little League World Series (PS3) and enjoyed both of those.  Would this game be worth my time or should I keep waiting for the newest The Show to drop and playing its retro mode?

If you have no interest in the rest of the game, but MLB The Show 17 for the Retro Mode is not worth it. If you liked Super Mega Baseball, there's a sequel coming out early 2018. Everything I've seen/heard about RBI Baseball 17 is that it hasn't changed much from the previous years when it was poor.

I don't use the console store, but they're still in the process of deactivating last week's sales and removing them from the sales section on the PC webstore. No need for people to freak out. If you have to spend money right now, there are a number of good organizations that could use the money to help out Puerto Rico, the people and families affected in Las Vegas, and many others from recent events.

 
Is the PS Store (web interface) down for anyone else?  I'm at work, so no idea if the PS Store is working on my PS4.  Wonder if we'll see a larger update for this weeks sales once the store is back online?

Thanks for the info. I wasn't aware there is a new Super Mega Baseball on the way, I will just hold off for that.

RBI Baseball is trash, through and through. I wanted so bad to like it so I could have an MLB game for my XB1 but it just doesn't cut it at all. The Show is infinitely better and it doesn't require you to put any more time into it than you want. Sure there are modes that you can pour hours into, but one of the genius features they put in a few years back is quick counts which really speeds up the game. Heck, they also have a postseason mode where you can set up the brackets just like they are in real life, and you can take control of all of the teams if you want.

Yes, the newest one has the retro mode and again, while light years better than RBI Baseball you'll still probably find yourself wanting to play the other way.

Bottom line, don't let the fear of how much you can do in this game scare you away.

How difficult is the hitting? The last The Show I played was on the PS3 and I spent quite a bit of time with it but I just couldn't ever get my Road to the Show player batting much better than a .200 average. I would get on a hot streak where I thought I finally got the hang of it and then I would get on a cold streak and go 0 for 10. Was Road to the Show programmed so you would go through the ups and downs of being a rookie or did I just suck? I admit that I am not a great gamer but I ended up getting frustrated and just quitting. Maybe I would have had more success if I tried playing the real game but I never ended up getting around to that.

It has several difficulty options and even a dynamic difficulty that makes it easier if you're struggling and harder as you get better.

It's fully customizable so you can tune it to your skills. For example, my 10 year old son has a RTTS character and the hitting is on the easiest setting and you can crank everything from the frequency of homeruns and "solid" hits to adjusting the timing window you have to hit the ball as well as the speed of which the ball gets over the plate so you have more time there too. There's also a great "dynamic" difficulty setting that picks up on how you're doing and will raise or lower the difficulty automatically. It truly has made some significant strides on the PS4 and is my most-played game every year.

Go dynamic difficulty all the way. It’ll give you enough time to figure out the timing but then really challenge you as it increases. You’ll feel streaky, hot/cold like real players.
 
Had no idea Battle Chasers was developed by former members of Vigil Games until today so I had to pick that up even though I missed the 10% discount. I'll pick up Dragon's Dogma when I have more time and during a sale. Hoping to be able to finish up Battle Chasers and Hob before the flood of AAA games starts next week.

Interesting because they specifically said they weren't doing that. I played that game to death as well as the DLC but good lord anyone who has a Pro and finds the GOTY edition for 20-30 bucks is in for an amazing experience.

Doing what? They announced PS4 Pro support was on the way earlier this year.

 
Just a heads up. That monster jam battlegrounds game is a total waste of time. Horrible controls, horrible graphics, horrible game.
