Ubisoft is being Ubisoft with its For Honor alpha codes. I have 3 extra codes for PS4 if anyone wants in the alpha right now, it lasts through Sunday.

Vue, for my situation, is still too expensive. I am a cord cutter and paying $44.99 a month(what core costs and I would need that one) for it on top of $39.99 a month for internet is not cost effective and gives me no incentive to purchase it when cable and sat bundles are around the exact same price and offer WAY more channels. I remember back at CES either last year or this year having a Sony rep explain it to me and when I asked about the cost effectiveness vs cable or sat, they honestly had nothing to say other than they liked Vue. Also, considering they are making me pay for local channels I get with my OTA for free, is another no no in my book. I don't think Sony is really aggressive about Vue yet and right now, it's more like a luxury than a serious threat. When they get the price of core down to $25-$30, then it becomes friendly for cord cutters.

Well, I only pay $30 a month for Vue and it has every channel I would want except for The CW and HBO, but HBO is coming soon and is always extra money (no word on The CW, though!). The service isn't perfect, for sure, but it's been a great option for us the past several months.

 
Also I learned you can pay for Vue with PSN money, which you can get for a discounted price periodically. So that lowers the cost. Also typically those cable deals are only temporary and you have to rent equipment too and extra fees and it ends significantly more expensive then stated up front.

Having said that, I have no interest in Vue as long as they don't really have local team sports channels, which for me they don't. No MASN/MASN2. If and when they add that I'll at least sign up for the baseball season. Which brings up another point: no contract.

 
does vue have epsn?  I'm don't watch much sports but i do watch WSOP and after cutting cable I've found that's the one 'event' i have a hard time finding a way to watch

It does offer some on demand and has DVR functions, though it doesn't actually record shows, just gives you access to them streaming. I've had SlingTV before switching to Vue and I can tell you, Vue is leagues better than Sling. More channels, far more stable, and much more functionality. I have no regrets switching over whatsoever. I hated Sling.

I think purely regional ones like that it probably comes down to vocal demand and getting them to work out a deal with the parent company. The regional FSN channels are available in those regions but probably came along with the national FSN channels.

There's on demand but I didn't mess with it a ton. Seems to vary show to show on availability but seemed to be in like with what was available through Comcast when I had them.

 
In my area, Vue is $44.99 a month for the core package which has channels I would want.  Awesome if people here are paying $30 a month and getting the channels they want.  It's a case by case basis for sure and sucks that my circumstances are such that Vue makes little sense for me over just paying for cable or Sat.

 
I think it's likely there will be a Flash Sale, after all it is the middle of September and this is typically when they happen.

It's the third friday. The last 2 years worth of Flash Sales in September have been the third friday of the month... so I'm still predicting it happens today.

It's random but usually later in the day. Sometimes as late as 5pm EST. I think last month it started to go up around 3pm EST, but I'd have to dig back through the posts to verify.

It's always subjectively good for someone. For me with a massive digital library fewer games end up on sale that I want. At this point I'm mainly after PS1 & PSP classics.

 
I've never really seen anything I would consider a bad flash sale on psn

best deals for consoles imo and it's not even close

sure there are plenty of themes that I don't collect in but their games are always pretty solid and prices pretty damn fine

 
I keep checking but I am actually betting the flash sale will be next Friday. This month basically started on a Friday so the 3rd Friday seems a bit skewed. A majority of Flash sales have occurred on the 20th+ (and still the 3rd Friday) so as to tempter my expectations I am saying it will not be today.

The human mind is a funny thing.  Many here are watching threads like this hoping to see a "flash" sale which, if it happens, will absolutely last all weekend long.  We wait with baited breath to see the deals as though they are sold in limited quantities and might sell out or will go away in a matter of minutes.  Then, of course, many of us will wait until Monday morning before deciding whether or not to actually buy anything from said flash sale...

my guess is there are mainly 2 groups

those that have limited time to game and have that opportunity on weekends so want the games asap

those that work or are busy on weekends and wanna make sure to lock it in before the weekend gets hectic and they forget or don't have time to browse and buy before it ends monday

The third group is those who have plenty to play and don't need to buy any games so they continually debate what to purchase all weekend and then reluctantly pull the trigger on Monday.
