i think instead of spend $100 get $15 im going to spend $0 get $100 more in my pocket.

I've been debating on buying things still and I think I might just not buy any of it

none of the deals are irresistible there are a few games I want like stick of truth but maybe I'll just do something rare and actually resist a sale

I've got $100.03 in my psn wallet and I think it's staying that way until DQ builders can be pre-ordered for vita.
I am feeling the same way. Most of these games will go into my backlog and will probably be cheaper in the future. Are we maturing as CAGs

Granted I still want Unravel and Child of Light

ive had quite a few items in my cart, syndicate gold, resident evil 0, need for speed. but even if i force myself up to $100, im sure the games will be collectively $15 cheaper before i ever get to them. did buy megadimension for $12 and traded in my physical copy for a little over twice that.

i want resident evil zero and unravel as well and the prices are fine, just eh

plus this time of year I'm outside all the time anyway so it's not like I actually game lol

Well it sounded like they tweaked and balanced stuff in Scholar. Its still trash? Should I just jump into 3 then? haha
I've played Demon's Souls, Dark Souls 1, and Dark Souls 2 vanilla + season pass; and I think the combat system was at its best in 2. 3 hand slots, 4 ring slots, calculating your equip burden % for you (which is a little change but so user friendly, among a whole host of other user friendly tweaks between 1 and 2), more than 4 directions of rolling when locked on, true dual wielding (power stance), HUGE variety of weapons, the ability to respec your stats, etc.. The level design isn't as high quality as the highs of Dark Souls 1 and Demon's Souls (except the 3 DLC areas which are excellent, and come with SotFS), but the lows aren't nearly as low as some of the later, practically unfinished areas of Dark Souls 1. Some people just default to not liking it because it wasn't done by Miyazaki (the director of the other Souls games), but there is much to love in 2.

The good news is because Dark Souls 1 and 2 take place thousands or possibly hundreds of thousands of years apart (it isn't said), you can play them in whichever order you want without spoiling too much of the story in the other game. As I understand it, Dark Souls 3 heavily makes callbacks to Dark Souls 1 so you should probably play DS1 before playing DS3. I would be really surprised if they don't do a DS1 remastered at some point for PS4/Xbone since they allegedly aren't making any more Dark Souls games.

They made DS 1 BC on XB1 but yeah that doesn't help PS4 owners.

Total damage for this sale=104.xx. I just hope there are no good sales next so I can use my remaining balance on Resident Evil Mp(can't remember actual name).

It's too damn hot here to go outside more than necessary so it's the perfect time for gaming as far as I'm concerned.

happy for lebron

never saw an athlete get so much undeserved criticism, especially when the worst thing he did was leave his hometown for a better job opportunity

it takes a team to win championships, if lebron never left cleveland they don't have the number 1 pick to get kyrie and they don't have the two number 1 picks to trade for kevin love

Game 7 was good.  I've really enjoyed watching the GSW in past years due to their high scoring and high energy gameplay.  But I was cheering mainly for the Cavs to get the overall victory as my family roots are in Ohio fairly near Cleveland.  Not only was it a big win for the Cavs but it marks the first time in NBA history a team has come back from a three loss deficit in the Finals.  Amazing.

....

Anyway it's going to take a pretty amazing sale on Tuesday to get me to spend enough for the spend $100 get $15 promo.  So, I'm not banking on it at all.

I seriously do not get why people are trying to hit the $100 mark for $15 off. If you look at the PSN code trading thread you can regularly get a $100 PSN code for $80, which is 20% off, instead of this 15% off. Then you use that $100 at any point as well, instead of having a timeline to find something you may want. Plus as a added bonus you are helping out a fellow CAG.

Also you can find every once in awhile $100 PSN codes for $80 or cheaper too on Ebay.

Here's the crazy idea. How about you get the $100 code for $80, saving $20. Then apply that to your account, then find $100 worth of stuff to buy and get the $15 back. So, you spend $80, then get $100 worth of stuff and have $15 bonus to spend after the fact.

:whistle2:$

You should keep that on the down-low, people might start bum-rushing the Internet to do what I'm suggesting.

From what I understand, you can't do that. You have to spend $100 on the PSN store to get the $15 back.

Uh, yes you can do that. I loaded my account with $100 of PSN funds before the sale and spent my $100 from the account PSN funds in my account. If you did the same thing now, it wouldn't make any difference. As long as the money comes out of your PSN account, it counts towards the $15 back promo. You could buy two PS + subscriptions as long as they come out of your account balance, or anything else that gets you to $100 or more spent.

I've done that the past $15 back on $100 sale promotions and received it every time.

Interesting. Can anyone else confirm this?

The tweaks to the gameplay include placing newer, larger and more power enemies where they weren't before and more of them.

I barely touched 2, but I played through Scholar a few weeks back and save for 1 piece of DLC, I played through its entirety (I cannot beat Fume Knight, I've defeated everything else).

It really felt like it was another game wearing a Dark Souls Mask, but it was still pretty fun and challenging.. just the low point in the series.

Oh for those wondering, Mighty No. 9 seems to be quite underwhelming in reviews so far.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zOlT-TCw8XM

As usual, take reviews with a grain of salt.

If the game looks like you'll enjoy it.. go ahead and try it out!

PSN doesn't look at your ebay purchase history or whatever to see how much you paid for PSN credit. Spending $80 to get $100... then loading that $100 on your account and all it sees is the $100 in credit added. Spending it within the time frame to get another $15 back is certainly legitimate. Stack that again with a really good sale (and a coupon if there is one at the time) and you can get a lot of gaming goodness for that money.

There are a lot of tricks out there that are even more complex than this, though I just don't have the time for that.

Wow, I'm looking at the reviews, and even thought I still have my CE preordered, I might just cancel.

Wow, might've expected a 7 or so, but damn....
I rarely agree with just about anything that IGN staffers have to say but they did call this on one of their podcasts (I forget which one) a number of months ago. They were extremely critical of the whole development process and actually came out and said that they thought it was going to be bad.

As for the spend 100 promo, for me, I'm looking at some games I wanted Darksiders, Syndicate, etc. and acknowledging that they may be cheaper, but maybe not digitally. Compound that with the "get 15 back promo" and the buy 1 get 1 20% off at best buy on cards, and then the deal is good enough for me because I know that I will have my option to pick to play any 1 or them (or combination of them) beginning now with the convenience of digital. I won't have to worry about cherry picking the best sale on each one or the fact that the best sale will probably be on the disc version. By way of example, Syndicate will definitely be 15 on Black Friday but that will be the disc version and it won't be for 5 more months.

Also, I don't know about you guys but as a father of 2, the longer a game is, the more I want the digital version because the TIV is next to zero by the time I actually get around to completing it. I've had until dawn since release week and I'm just now on the final chapter of the game. lol

Ouch, we all kinda saw it coming though. I'm surprised that with all that budget and time it still came out like this.

I am hemming and hawing on Resident Evil remakes, NFS Rivals and Injustice. Otherwise it wasn't the best sale. I got Unravel and Tomb Raider, but honestly I need a bigger HD first.

Rivals looked good in that hot pursuit style of game.

I could always go for some more classic RE, and Injustice fills a void but isn't necessary for me.

Really thinking I am better served waiting to see if we get a good flash sale this Friday.

Rivals is pretty good. Very sharp arcade gameplay. You can feel Criterion's presence behind the scenes. The only real downside is how empty the map is. It's about 10 steps down from Burnout Paradise, which I will to this day say is the best open world racing game ever made. It's good though, and this has to be close to its pricing bottom. It's not like it will ever be much cheaper than $6.

Seriously? I know others have discussed this, but here's what I did. I got $170 credit for $123 during a recent sale at FMs.

That means I paid about .72 on the dollar, or $72 for $100 in credit. If I take advantage of this sale, I'll get $15 back, which means I'll have spent $57 to get $100 worth of games, which themselves are already on deep discount.

More to the point, there was at least $50 in games I was actively waiting for a good sale on. Since I was essentially buying those no matter what even without this promo, from my perspective I'm only really spending $50 to get the $15 off.

From what I understand, you can't do that. You have to spend $100 on the PSN store to get the $15 back.
Yes? I think you're misunderstanding him. Just because you spend $100 on the store doesn't mean you spent $100 to get $100 in PSNBUX.

Yep. I'm only on chapter 2 of until dawn, lol. And I've realized the same thing. I just don't have time to worry about tivs anymore, because odds are, by the time i'm ready to sell it's not worth the effort.

I also appreciate having the psn bux. Like I said above, i just picked up $170 for $123. That means I can now buy stuff for the next couple of months w/o needing to justify opening my wallet, since my wallet was already opened.

Plus I realize i totally prefer digital. I've got a rack of ps4 games in the other room I haven't had time for -- lots of cool games, from Diablo to The Witcher... and I'm more likely to just scan my ps4 library to download something. Flipping out the bluray to watch movies/etc sucks. Vita got me started on the digital kick, and it's just solidified since then.

I'm waiting on the REmakes to go a bit lower, though i do want them.

Rivals is a ton of fun imo. It's the races/power ups of Hot Pursuit mixed with the open world of Most Wanted. It's not perfect, but it's a blast.

So... I played GTA5 on the ps3, and I've been wanting to replay on the ps4.   I'm 50 in to the $100/15 promo, so at this point I'm basically spending $35 to get $50...   which sort of means GTA5 would be at an acceptable price point.

How important are all those shark card things?  Do I need any of that crap?

i played the entire game and quite a few hours of multiplayer without the shark cards. its just a matter of whether or not you want instant gratification (buying any house/car/weapon you want) or if you are willing to start small and work your way up.

For spend $100 get $15 I picked up:

Mortal Kombat XL (have been waiting for a sale on this) $29.99

Akiba's Tripe (seems sleazy with shallow arcade play, maybe just the right balance) $14.99

Grand Theft Auto V (never was really into GTA but seems worth a spin and tired of waiting on a 'deal,' get $15 pushed me over) ~$38.99

Risk of Rain (really enjoyed this on PC, worth supporting) $9.99

Salt and Sanctuary $17.99 (no problem paying full price on an indie title) 17.99

Considering picking up The Order (but have heard such bad things).  Was tempted by the cheap Battlefront games but ultimately I'd rather wait for a deal on the premium editions (seems like DLC alone almost never goes on sale so buying vanilla might be a waste) or just pick up the newest version in the Fall.  Am I overlooking some gems here?

Personally I really enjoyed The Division, despite the barren environments and samey enemies it's 'Nintendo hard' gun battles and cover system has a nice appeal.

Edit: Used Best Buy buy 1, get 20% off PSN credit to sweeten deal some...

As a father of 3, it's a whole lot easier to give up on most of the big AAA high print run common games and wait for them to be cheap unless I'm desperate to play it that first day (or better yet if the kids are and they fork out most or all of the money to get them). Outside of that, my main excuses to get launch games are because they are of the few very rare established franchises that I love and I don't mind paying full price for them even if it takes years before I get around to playing them. I'm talking Dragon Quest, Shantae, Shenmue... that kind of stuff tends to get my money. Heck I still have two DQ games on the DS to play through as well as that last Shantae game installed and waiting on my 3DS. Still, I have Shantae HGH for Vita preordered and plan to preorder DQ7 and DQ8.

So far I bought Destiny Rise of the Iron, Dragon Age Inquistion, Megadimension Neptunia VII, Omega Quintet. At around 52 bucks. considering pre ordering South Park Fractured But whole but im not sure. Game looks really cool and comes with stick of truth which I really enjoyed on the PS3.

I haven't tried this yet, but if I have a game installed through disc and then decide to go digital do we have to re-download the whole thing? I'm assuming no, but rather know right of the bat if I'm looking at 40+ GB download tonight

From what I understand yes you have to download the digital version of the game. That's the one somewhat major thing that MS has over on Sony.

Quick question:anyone having trouble logging into Overwatch?
For future reference: you dont have to broadcast the question, just befriend kickz and see his online status. If it says playing overwatch, then everything is good. If it says that kickz is taking a dump, then servers are having some issue.

I always lose track of where I am

I thought about picking up Umbrella Corps to finish off my $100 but I was watching some gameplay on it and ....now I need to find a sub $30 game to buy.
