Probably buying:

Dreamals - Only $1. Frisky stamp of approval. Try to avoid buying a game just because it is cheap (was never on radar).

Rally Copters - Only $2. Cross buy. Seems like a decent time waster.

Leaning towards buying:

Action Henk - Voted for it for PS+, would buy for $5 or less (my trigger for digital non-retail). Wait for next time on sale?

Stories: The Path of Destinies - Was already interested, $5 or less it would be bought. Wait for next time on sale?

Leaning towards not buying:

Citizens of Earth - Haven't played Earthbound, so no nostalgia factor, but less than $5. Destined for PS+?

Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams - Directors Cut - Have non-directors on PS3 that I haven't played. Only $3. Buy again?

Shante: Risky's Revenge - Directors Cut- Have non-directors on 3DS that I haven't played. Only $2. Buy again?

The Swindle - Less than $5, but my guess it will eventually be on PS+.

Tales of Hearts R - Over $5. Would rather have on cart. Won't play right away, so wait for next time on sale?

Wander - Interested before release, but know they failed on execution. I like digital tourism sometimes tho. Wait for cheaper?

Bought:

A Boy and His Blob

Pumped BMX+

Submerged

Volume

I'm a liar (it's only 70% off):

Any thoughts on the above are appreciated.
don't buy citizens of earth. it's an unstable piece of crap. Crashes constantly. You can't even reliably go into the save menu without it crashing that's how bad it is. It amazes me it was reviewed decently when this is the case.

If it didn't crash like crazy it'd be a passable throwback game. The irony is the demo is stable and better than the real game.

On the note of hearts r it doesn't go on sale that often and a cart is gonna cost you 4x that or more at this point.  Its well worth 5$ even with vita space being at a premium.  Just note that its kinda on the long side.  Especially for a handheld title and save anywhere is limited to the world map while dungeons have save points.  Also its english sub only whether or not that bothers you.

Thanks for the input.

Yeah, I'm gonna skip Citizens of the Earth this round. You say there are issues and if I were super pumped to get it, I maybe woulda still. I'll pay that price for a game I'm semi interested in and maybe has some issues, but I'm not really feeling it right now. For whatever reason, my spidey sense says "Future PS+". If it goes dirt cheap before then, I may bite then.

The struggle with Vita space is real. I have 64 GB on both a Vita and PSTV and still have many uninstalled games. Long games (with large install sizes) like Hearts R are better for cart when that is an option. But the price on digital right now vs cart for this is significant. But I'm not gonna play this right away and Atlus are pretty aggressive with putting their games on sale. I have no doubt it will hit this price or lower again. I'll buy when I feel I'm closer to playing it. Maybe I'll get lucky see a cart for $10 or less before then.

Citizens of Earth had crash issues at launch, but they've released an update or two since then to address, so I don't know if the crashing is a recent thing or not.

Tales of Hearts R is a Namco Bandai game, not an Atlus game. Also, the physical cart for this one was a Gamestop exclusive, so good luck with that.

I think I remember now you or someone posting about that before. But for whatever reason, I'm still not really feeling it right now. I believe I've talked myself out buying it in this sale, maybe I'll buy it in a future one.

Oh, don't now why I thought it was an Atlus game. Namco Bandai is much less aggressive with sales. And you are right that the carts are hard to come by at a decent price. I think I'll keep it in the contemplate for this sale pile at least.

Aye, I am afraid it's an IOS game.. I love the Adventure/Sword game
It's the port/remake of Final Fantasy Adventure, it's supposed to be extremely well done and I eagerly await a sale. Now they need to do the rest of the GB games.

Man, I need to catch up on like 10 pages.

So many games on sale! So many great prices!

are any games really on sale or just a rehash of what has been on sale this year.. noticed on the vita side almost everything on sale has been that price before
Slidecage out of his fucking mind again. Slidecage, there are tons of vita games on sale at surprisingly low prices.

I think you missed the part where I say "essentially". "essentially" means "not literally, but almost" - that's kinda how it works. If you saw the same product "on sale" for 350 days of the year, you wouldnt find that silly and ridiculous? With what other products does that ever happen?

Slidecage above seems to get it. Glad I'm not alone.
Someone happy that slidecage is on their side. Now I've seen it all.

I don't keep up for 10 pages and everything goes to hell on the first page of catchup. Excited for 9 more pages of bizarro world where Slidecage replaces Frisky as thread host.

Wo

Re;Birth 2 has a different main protagonist, is significantly darker than the first, and has multiple endings. The core gameplay is the same, except with one extra party slot in the sequel. Also, each one has a $0.99 DLC that you NEED to buy with them. Re;Birth 1's is the Plutia Battle Entry DLC and Re;Birth 2's is the Emergency Help Pack.
Can you go into more depth about why we need these dlc? I already own the games, just haven't gotten to them yet.

is Volume a good game?
Volume is cross buy- how does it play on vita? The game is essentially mgs VR missions right?
Every review I've read said it's great. Multiple said it's 'best on vita' due to how well it plays and the bite size nature of missions. I have it in my cart but might not pull the trigger because i don't actually like stealth games.

is "Trillion: God of Destruction" good??
It looks like a roguelike but plays like a 'trainer'. You've got a harem of characters and play one at a time, making them strong before they're forced to fight (and likely die) against super-mega boss. Once they do, you pick the next to take their place, and they're super-charged based on how you trained the one before.

Ultimately, it's gameplay is focused on the actual training part (how you spend each day you have, character relationships, etc) and it just didn't work for me. Some love those types of games.

I went to add Brothers to my cart and got the free PS+ popup. I see that it was free in January 2014 when I did not have PS+. Has anyone else had this happen? Could this be PS+ for July?

It has a price of $2.99 in cart though.
PS+ games don't repeat.

-----

meh, last ten pages weren't exciting at all.

So far I've picked up Super Stardust pS4, xotrix ps4 (skip this), Tales R Vita, and Ray Gigant.

There are about 20 other games I sort of want, but can't quite pull the trigger on.

I had it crash literally on the final boss.

A remake, since it is done with entirely new assets.

Yea, I wouldn't mind seeing the Romance games remade (FF Legend)

I was worried it was another lazy IOS port...

Just watched the video.. it IS an IOS game but looks decent for Vita.

If you don't, then I will hunt you down and kill you and your entire family. How's that?

The one for the first game adds an extra character that nerfs the early difficulty curve, which is what most people complain about when starting out. The second one takes what normally amounts to a tremendously frustrating sidequest and takes out 95% of the frustration. The games are still playable without them, but each one removes a lot of the annoyance that new players have with the games, and are way more than worth their $0.99 price tags, even for returning players.

And seriously, do it or die.

What I've bought so far:

Lords of the Fallen

Shantae: Risky's Revenge and Pirate's Curse

Hyperdevotion Noire Goddess Black Heart

What I'm thinking of buying

One Piece Pirate Warriors 3

Tower of Guns

Tales of Hearts R

Ziggurat

Broken Age

Ray Gigant

Tetris Ultimate (Vita version)

Don't know if what I'm thinking of buying is worth the price of admission

Tetris Ultimate blows....something is missing from it. It seems really generic and not so great. It is one of the few Vita games I traded in.

Ziggurart I haven't played the PS4 version but have played the PC one. Pretty fun game though a bit repetitive. There is a lot of unlocking stuff which is very fun though. It also is fair but can be a bit hard. If you want a FPS roguelike it's a good game for you.

The game crashes?
Never crashed for me..

Thing is it's always on sale, so if someone doesn't buy it now, it's not like you won't be able to grab it next month.

GameStop retail exclusive, that you can order from namco's website as well. (Where I got mine for $10 cheaper than GS, on sale)

Ended up going for Ray Gigant and Hot Shots Golf.

After watching a bunch of reviews on Ray Gigant, I'm going to approach it as a VN with some DRPG gameplay rather than a fullon DRPG. Hear it's really easy and it's more focused on the story. Combat and level progression looks pretty interesting.

Love me my golf. To answer my own question, there is only like 2 outfits and color swaps. But it does offer some customization in the looks department at least. Also picked up the Erika DLC 'cause she's a qt.

Knowing I had missed out on a cheaper physical price awhile back made me hesitant to get it digitally at this price. But the alternative is double the price($10) for physical now. And there are some benefits to having it on the vita at all times. Still a good enough price.

Tales of Hearts R

Don't know if what I'm thinking of buying is worth the price of admission
Tales of Hearts R is one of my least favorite tales games. It's a really divisive title. Some people love it, some hate it. But at $6~ I'd say it's still definitely worth the price. Actually get all the Tales games on sale if you can. Xillia1&2 are especially great values.

Someone happy that slidecage is on their side. Now I've seen it all.
I'm assuming that Slidecage is some infamous commenter. I wouldn't know as I refer to singular points made and rather than let politics decide for me. He may have been wrong plenty of other times, but he's right in saying that plenty of the games on sale now have been on sale a ridiculous amount of times prior. Whether Jesus or Hitler said it, it doesnt matter - it's just correct.

Slidecage is a broken record, just like you.

He was also demonstrably wrong, as there are a ton of great vita deals this week, many on games we've never seen on sale before and others at fantastic prices. Ray Gigant, Tales R, for example.

Slidecage uses any week with only a couple vita sales to claim Sony 'pisses on the vita' and when there are sales on vita games, somehow manages to decide none of them actually 'count'.

Any help would be appreciated. I went to go buy a few games from this sale and it said it couldn't go through. On my transaction history it shows up as Missing Charges. I can't get to purchase anything. Anyone ever have this problem before ?

You know your argument's weak when even you disagree with it.

Were the funds deducted from your wallet? Have you tried logging completely out of your PSN account and back in again? Sometimes the PS store glitches and doesn't show a purchase going through correctly even though it went through just fine on the backend, and re-logging in fixes it.

was a pure question i thought most were on sale before..tempted to buy some but no room on card

I had a few bucks left on my wallet and then I went to pay the ballance from my card. That I've used to buy games with in the past on PSN. I will try the sign out/in trick. Silly question they won't reverse the missing payment and charge me twice will they ? Also thanks for the info :)

Thanks for this post. I had overlooked Ray Gigant, which I'm happy to see is also PSTV compatible. Trailer looks really good and reviews are decent -- not great but decent.

Any thoughts from CAGers on this one?

Yikes, wrong usage there, bud. You can't just paste this to everyone who types the name. That only refers to arguments directly relating to Hitler and his regime. As in, for my case, I could have substituted "Hitler" for literally any other infamous and the central point would remain exactly the same.

Nice try though.

You know your argument's weak when even you disagree with it.
Lol, pointing out an obvious typo as if it was meant to be written that way. Strong rebuttal.
-_-

Personally, I would think more critically of the opinions I shared with Hitler compared to the ones I shared with Jesus.
We're not dealing with opinions - we're dealing with facts. You would think twice if Hitler told you 1+1=2?

Tales of hearts r was on sale for $11.99 not to long ago, but even so, this is a much better sale. Other then that though, I don't think Ive seen many of these on sale before. Not sure how anyone could bitch about this sale. Sure it's not the greatest, but still pretty damn good. Still debating if I should just bite the bullet and get the rest of the tales games I need (xillia 2, graces f, and symphonia)

Using an obvious typo that just so happens to reverse your argument as proof that even Murphy's Law is against anyone agreeing with slidecage. Because I really don't need to try that hard here.

New to PS4...quick question, do the NBA 2K16 virtual coins ever go on sale on the PlayStation store? (like there currently are on Xbox One)

Citizens of Earth had crash issues at launch, but they've released an update or two since then to address, so I don't know if the crashing is a recent thing or not.
it still crashes and is the most unstable piece of shit I have ever played. I tried playing it earlier this year. The updates did nothing to make the game better assuming there even were updates to begin with.

Tales of Hearts R is a Namco Bandai game, not an Atlus game. Also, the physical cart for this one was a Gamestop exclusive, so good luck with that.
gamestop brick and mortar exclusive. amazon sold it at the time of its release.

Eh I would say go for it considering you'd be looking at about 40$ to buy them separately physical wise. Personally not really a fan of xillia 2 or graces though.

I would of quit honestly if graces combat wasn't good. Once you get to the end of the the damn game and start the f arc as thats when it truly unlocks most of the good stuff.

I'm afraid I would have to disagree, there, pal. Reductio ad Hitlerum only requires that Hiter (or Naziism) be invoked as a hyperbolic point of reference for a viewpoint/opinion/philosophy. And just about *any* time Hitler is brought into a conversation like that, they could have substituted someone else instead. That's sort of the point... the longer an inane conversation continues, the greater than chance that someone will choose not to use a substitute. Not that I particularly care. To be fair, it's been a couple of years since I've used that, so thanks!
