Just to confirm: Owning the Classics for PS3 doesn't give you any discount on the PS4 releases, once they're out, right?

If that's the case, I'll probably just grab Second Son and go with that for now, much as I'd love to play Katamari again.
Yea, sadly no discounts since they consider it more of a port/re-release due to added features.

Can anyone chime in on which version of Child of Light to get. I've been playing Persona 4 Golden on my Vita and I've been loving the experience, so I am trying to decide whether to get it for PS4 or just go with Vita.

Nope they do not.

Does Infamous Second Son come with anything extra digital?
(Trying to figure out how to make Last Light officially mine and not just PS+)

Just finished Until Dawn.  It was excellent.  I started last night and ended up playing all the way through till 6 am (I have not done that in a long time).  I would definitely recommend playing without a guide even if you want trophies because I think it makes the game a lot better not knowing anything.  I will say that if you are interested in trophies that multiple partial playthroughs will be required and potentially a 2nd full playthrough if you mess up big time the first time.  The chapter select system can be a little frustrating because while it allows you to make changes those changes do not stick if you skip around.  So if you need to do something in Chapter 5 to get a situation in Chapter 9 you have to play through to do and not skip between.  It is very frustrating at times. I screwed up at the very end of the game twice trying to save everyone and unless you dashboard right away there is no going back.  I had to stop playing after awhile because I was getting a little miffed with myself. I will rent it again to get the platinum I think though.

I just saw The Witness now has a game page in the PSN webstore. No hint at a price though. I'm guessing $40. No less than $30. One of the Amazon stores had it at a price that is pretty much $60 US, but I think that was placeholder price.

Hey, the PSN webstore isn't loading my avatar. I paid $0.45 to not see a generic happy face there.

Picked up few Vita games

Chrono Trigger

Xenogears

Im quickly running out of space, can anyone recommend me a cheap, decent 2tb hard drive for my Ps4? Thanks
Do you mind prying apart some plastic and not having a warranty? If that sounds OK to you then: http://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Portable-External-Storage-STDR2000100/dp/B00FRHTSK4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1453105166&sr=8-1&keywords=seagate+2tb+external

If not then: http://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Laptop-2-5-Inch-Internal-ST2000LM003/dp/B00MPWYLHO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1453105192&sr=8-1&keywords=2tb+spinpoint

Same drive either way and what a lot of us (probably most of us) that have upgraded are using. If you're careful in the extraction you can reassemble it with the OEM drive and use it as an external too.

Has there ever been any hint of external hard drives as a "coming feature" in a future PS4 update? With how easy Xbox One is for externals, opening up the system to install one is starting to sound dated.

Very low chance. It's not so much 'dated' as two different ways of looking at it. Personally, I highly prefer Sony's way. I want internal storage [nothing hanging off my device, taking up slots] and I want companies to let me easily 'open' my devices to change any necessary parts [hard drives, batteries, etc] and I hate when companies don't let me.

The most likely reason Sony doesn't allow external storage is reducing hacker/exploit attack vectors. The more you allow over USB, the more risk you're at [worst case, people eventually cracking the ps4 wide open and selling external hard drives preloaded full of games]. Microsoft is okay with that risk and/or really doesn't want you opening their boxes, and Sony isn't okay with that risk and/or doesn't mind you opening up your boxes. It's all perspective.

Obviously the best solution, for us, would be both. But one isn't 'dated' or objectively better, though I think allowing someone to easily change the internal is important in case the original crashes, if for no other reason.

Sony created the PS4 (and PS3) with the ability for the USER to change the HD. MS is a closed system that wants the user to pay them more money (at a premium) to swap the internal HD.

and yeah allowing USB support while nice, adds yet another point of attack.

I like Sony's way of handling the HD MUCH more than MS's.

Upgraded my PS4 to a 2TB drive, and I end up buying more digital stuff through PSN. Even though I can add an external HD to the xbox one.. I don't. so I really only buy physical for it. (and for me when I buy an xbox one game, it takes at least twice as long to install than on the PS4. I rented a game on xbox and it took 30+ minutes to install, decided I wanted to buy it for PS4.. tossed disk in and was playing almost immediately)

I understand what you're saying, but i'm pretty sure PS4 has already been hacked pretty good including recent reports of people playing Pokémon on a PS4. Still, i'm sure Sony would like to limit any further potential damage. I guess it just seems dated when an Xbox 360 could do external storage (albeit limited) years ago. Even Nintendo is allowing it on WiiU. The problem with internal storage is that it is very limiting both in amount of storage and upgrade options. It just seems very old school for a more nimble and forward thinking operation that Sony has been aspiring to.

What happens if I want to have more than 2tb of space and I don't want to attached a sata extension and a 3.5" drive? I buy all my games digitally and I vastly prefer an external storage option. I've already filled 6tb of space on my Xbox One. The swapped drive that I put in my PS4 is full as well... I just can't add any more space to it without getting creative.

I have never gotten the arguement of physical over digital HDD space wise, because fact is even if you have a physical disk the game still gets loaded onto your HDD and takes up space. The main reason I prefer physical is because i can sell/trade the game in at a later date and I do not have the risk of waking up one day and MS or Sony saying screw you, you no longer own this game and delete it from your library like capcom did with PT.

I wish but not that I've ever seen. Considering 2TB is nearly full it would be nice.

picked up Xenogears and FFT since i didn't have them already digitally..  hoping for a good GOTY sale since they announced the winners

I'm debating on the Danganronpa games. I am a Vita newbie, so I'm bulking up my collection any way I can. I am a sucker for physical games (especially the niche ones like this series seems to be)...but those two games for a little more than one would cost me online has me in a quandary.

A consideration is that space is a premium between my two memory cards (an 8GB and a 16GB). Anyone on either side of this predicament care to offer some insight?

Pretty sure that was the only "game" that has been removed. And it wasn't deleted from your HD, just from the store. I don't see that really happening many times again.

I buy digital when it's on deep discount.... and SELL my physical copy when I can make money or at least recoup my cost.

The 2TB "limit" is in the drive's physical size, but there are ways around that.

Debating if I should get GTA5 digital or physical, just because I still have $45 on my PSN account.
As someone who loves being able to play it for 30-minute stretches by just booting it, I'd go digital.

On another note: I have Suikoden II and have never played it, but will theoretically eventually get around to it. Is Suikoden worth it if I'm not a dedicated fan, or would I just be throwing away six quarters?

It really is nuts how big these games are ... most seem to be about 40 to 50 GB ... even if you own the physical version of the game!

I often wonder if this number could be lower or if devs are just lazy, meaning they could decrease the amount of space a game takes up without sacrificing anything, but don't because it takes time and money.

On a side note, is there an easy way to check all the digital games you own, including ones that are no longer on your hard drive?

EDIT: For those talking about Sukikoden .. from my collection. Bought the entire set about five years ago?

It's almost entirely art stuff that could be compressed but would compromise quality to some degree. But there is a cost/reward element in play too. Quality compression on the fly is very costly to engineer and perform on the fly so why would you bother if you're not otherwise limited for room? It's probably going to be like last gen where the average game size will probably wind up about the same but as the need for more space on the BR rises they'll get more inventive and put more emphasis on techniques to squeeze every last ounce out of it while the games look and play infinitely better than now. Or they'll just start making us download 100GB to play each game.

Hey now. Don't beat up poor Capcom too badly for Konami's shitty business practices :)

I program. And its a bit of both. Devs could make games smaller by compressing audio. Video. And texture files but then the game also will not look or sound as good as games where those files are uncompressed. There are many factors that could make games smaller or bigger. But fact is media is getting larger and larger period. Games wont be getting smaller anytime soon
