I think so. It's the full game.
You need the GOTY Edition to import into Hitman 2 for free, but what we're getting is The Complete First Season that is just the original campaign and not the added Patient Zero/GOTY campaign. That's just an extra $20 for the upgrade, possibly less if they put it on sale while it's on PS+.

That's not quite correct. this will give you the Legacy Pack in Hitman 2.

The Game of the Year gives you just a little more (and is available for $9.99 upgrade)

How to Unlock Hitman 1 Missions in Hitman 2 for Hitman 1 Regular Edition Owners
This will likely be the way that most people will redeem their Hitman 1 missions in Hitman 2. If you own the digital version of all episodes of Hitman 1, then this is how you do it. This applies to people who bought each episode individually too as well as those who got it on disc on either the PS4 or Xbox One.

First, make sure you’ve got the latest Hitman 1 update and launch the game. Go to the store on the main menu, which you can see above. You’ll see the Legacy Pack here. Click on it and it will take you to the system’s store. It will show your Legacy Pack and you just need to hit the download button.

It’s around 38GB total and divided over each of the episodes. It includes Hokkaido, Colorado, Sapienza, Marrakesh, Bangkok, Paris, and Bonus Missions. These missions take advantage of Hitman 2‘s new features like the progression system, blending into crowds, and more.

IO Interactive also stated that it also comes with the Hitman Blood Money Requiem Pack, which includes Requiem Legacy Suit, Blood Money Shirt and Tie, White Rubber Duck Explosive, and Silenced ICA-19 Chrome Pistol from Hitman Blood Money. Escalation Contracts will also be added to both versions of the Legacy Pack. It DOES NOT include any featured contracts or the Sarajevo Six missions. Both will remain exclusive to previous Hitman.

Steam users will just have to launch Hitman 2 and connect to the servers to unlock their Legacy Pack. Once you connect, quit out to download it and you should be good to go.

Once the Legacy Pack has been redeemed and all the downloads have started, it’s safe to delete the previous Hitman.

However, if you have the disc version of the game and have purchased the digital Game of the Year Edition or Game of the Year Upgrade, IO Interactive recommends that you “install all of the content from the disc onto your console and also ensure that you have the GOTY content installed.”

How to Unlock Hitman 1 Missions in Hitman 2 for Hitman 1 Game of the Year Edition Owners

This process is the same but, as of this writing, the Game of the Year Edition Legacy Pack is on the system store by itself. This includes the same stuff as the regular Legacy Pack (including the Blood Money Requiem Pack) but also comes with the Patient Zero campaign, three themed escalation contracts, three extra outfits, and three more weapons. This is obviously based on the Game of the Year Edition extra content IO Interactive released in November 2017.

IF YOU HAVE THE REGULAR LEGACY PACK AND WANT THE GAME OF THE YEAR LEGACY PACK, you can upgrade and get the extra content listed above for $9.99. This option is available on your system’s store and is handy for those who got the first season but didn’t get around to the newer Game of the Year content. Hitman 2 disc owners who want this option have to use the Hitman 2 in-game store. Digital owners can go through the platform store or the in-game store.

Not sure about PS4 but I was able to import Hitman 1 into Hitman 2 just downloading the demo. Still have not purchased the 2nd one but allows me to enjoy some of the upgrades.

Sounds great for them, more money. I think exclusives are dumb. The future is cross platform play and games on all systems. Gives us a better chance of finding deals on digital items because most gamers own multiple consoles.
why own multiple consoles if they all have the same games?

I don't know about this since my attempts to import it into the XB1 version where I don't have the GOTY edition didn't work until I got in on that free Legacy Pack glitch, though trying to double check this today seems to result in a broken black screen while claiming it needs to be updated.

There’s an issue with XBL preventing all access to games, the home screen, etc. causing this. Not specific to Hitman.

If you disconnect from the internet, it should work however.

i feel like that has to be it, no way i got 1300 hours when i make sure to keep my ps4 in sleep mode when not using it
Makes me wonder if time spent with the system in sleep mode but actively downloading something counts towards the hours being logged. Besides just being wildly inaccurate.

For $1 or more, you get:

  • Grim Fandango Remastered: This epic story of four years in the life (or death) of Manny Calavera, travel agent to the dead, has been remastered to look, sound, and control even better. Grim Fandango still stands as a classic of the genre, with unforgettable characters and unique combination of film noir and Mexican folklore.
  • The Bard’s Tale: Take on the role of the Bard, a sardonic and opportunistic musician and adventurer. You can choose the Bard’s responses toward other characters, and each choice changes the course of events in the game.
  • InnerSpace: An exploration flying game set in the Inverse, a world of inside-out planets with no horizons. Soar through ancient skies and abandoned oceans to discover the lost history of this fading realm, where gods still wander.
“Beat the average” price (at least 1¢ more than the current average bundle payment), to also get:

  • Layers of Fear: A first-person psychedelic horror game with a heavy focus on story and exploration. Delve deep into the mind of an insane painter and discover the secret of his madness as you walk through a vast and constantly changing Victorian-era mansion.
  • Wasteland 2: Director’s Cut – Standard Edition: Deck out your Ranger squad with the most devastating weaponry this side of the fallout zone, test the limits of your strategy skills, and bring justice to the wasteland. The choices are yours, but so are the consequences.
  • The Talos Principle: A philosophical first-person puzzle game. Players are tasked with solving a series of increasingly complex puzzles woven into a metaphysical parable about intelligence and meaning in an inevitably doomed world.
  • Broken Age: A timeless coming-of-age story of barfing trees and talking spoons. Vella Tartine and Shay Volta are two teenagers in strangely similar situations, but radically different worlds. The player can freely switch between their stories, helping them take control of their own lives and dealing with the unexpected adventures that follow.
Pay $15 or more to get everything above plus:

  • Killing Floor 2: The outbreak caused by Horzine Biotech’s failed experiment has quickly spread. Upon tracking specimen clone outbreaks, players will descend into zed-laden hot zones and exterminate them. Killing Floor 2 ramps up the gore with a proprietary, high powered persistent blood system.
  • Shadow Warrior 2: Wield a devastating combination of guns, blades, magic and wit to strike down the demonic legions overwhelming the world. Battle alongside allies online in four-player co-op or go it alone in spectacular procedurally-generated landscapes.

Made some videos on Aerea and Aragami after buying them during the Holiday Sale and playing a bit of them:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RdJ6im-Few
Looking at Aragami., it reminds me so much of Tenchu, only it cheats a little by closing gaps instantly. There's the pressure of knowing if you have enough time to close the distance before something drastic happens (alert, spotted, etc). This seems to eliminate that, which to me seems a little off-putting.

Thanks for the video though! Looks sharp.

"Most" might be overselling things, but a combined 80 million units shipped between Wii, PS3, and Xbox 360 in the previous generation suggests that either 50% of North American households had a game console, or there was a strong level of eventual overlap.
Actually, just did some googling. ,multiple studies show something like 51 to 56 percent of households actually do have consoles. These studies are by neilson, the entertainment software association, and others. It looks like this number doesn't shift too much, and if anything has gone down.

We have a population of something like 325 million and something like 2.5 people per household. So I'm going to go out on a limb and say the math suggests the vast majority of households are one console per gen.

But does that study discern between a NES and a Switch... or just assume "Nintendo" means Switch.. (same for Sony/MS)

Curious, not trying to downplay that.

My brother in law has 2 consoles... OG Xbox and a PS4. PS4 has been used for Blu Ray a few times, Xbox has not been turned on in at least a year (he was happy to report he finally beat Splinter Cell. Yes, 1... and last year)

Sony Rewards finally posted an FAQ about the issues people have been having since the relaunch:

https://www.rewards.sony.com/message-from-sony-rewards.html
I don't know if relaunch is the right word.
I was on the phone with them yesterday and I was told that none of my points dating back to November would show up until the app launched. They also said that they didn't have a timeframe for when I would be able to see points again... No idea what my total is after the holiday sale. Balls. I said I'd call back yet again in a week.

Well, that update says they'll let us know when reward points should be showing up, and if we're still missing points after that we should contact them. So I'll go with that.

But I'm thinking I should start working on a log of my purchases since the revamp. I still have all the e-mail purchase confirmations from Playstation, so it won't be that difficult.

DOA 6 will also be getting a free water down version of the full game much like DOA 5 Core fighters. Question is, how many season passes are they going to have for this title and at what ridiculous price. I say 5 season passes at $30 each.

You are shooting way, WAY too low here. I like DOA, but their DLC prices are just laughable.

Thing is, though, if the number has gone down, that means multiplatform adoption has probably gone up. Yeah, population growth, but hardware sales growth, too.

Roughly 2.5 people per household breaks down to approximately 130 million households. Lifetime sales of PS4, X1X and NSW are around 165 million. In my best estimation there are probably at most 20 million multi-plat households by the time you factor in houses that have all 3, multiple consoles of the same system and the number of consoles that have died over this time. That’s about 25%, which I would not consider high, especially since a large quantity of multi-plat households probably own NSW and not both PS4 and X1X.

The sales gap between the PS4 and Xbox One is greater than 2:1. The PS3 and Xbox 360 were neck and neck at this point in their life cycle. As successful as the Switch is it hasn't been on the market long enough to have sold as much as the Wii. It's unlikely multi-console owners have gone up considering a lot less people own an Xbox console this generation.

And there's the Pro, PSVR, and X this gen. At a time when more people start looking into getting a second console they might have just upgraded the one they already have.

Though the upgrade part applies to last gen as well since the ps3 and xbox360 both had 3 versions design wise alone. Not counting hardware and software variants as well. Whoops forgot the wii had three as well.

Last gen those were mainly just physical redesigns. There were some improvements like the later Xbox 360s getting wi-fi built in, and there were even steps back like the later PS3's losing PS2 compatibility.

But the PS4 Pro and the Xbox One X are actually upgraded versions of the PS4 and Xbox One. Consoles that come with game patches that take advantage of their improved specs. When I say upgrade I mean an actual upgrade. The "slim" redesigns of the past are not the same as the Pro/X upgrades this generation.

Is that 165mil us? Or is that worldwide?

Answered my own question
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_game_consoles

Sorry but your entire argument has fallen apart.... that’s worldwide numbers not USA only.

World population: 7.4billion
So take your 165million sold and start the math there and try again.
Sorry to sound like a dick, but reading your post just made no sense to me once I really started looking at this numbers argument with multi platform houses... everything sounded waaaaaay off.

Man, this whole thing makes them look really pathetic. They shouldn’t have started transitioning until the build was finished. Who the hell builds a new site at the same time it’s already launched?
The same people that left up a partially insecure site held together by duct tape that timed out or didn't load half the time for the better part of a decade.

You misunderstand. if the number of consoles sold through from generation to generation is static, or has increased, but the percentage of households owning consoles has dropped, then that suggests an increase in multi-console ownership.

Population growth accounts for SOME of the difference because the number of households grows, but North American population growth hasn't outstripped console sell-through that dramatically in the last ten years.

I fully explored a few of the scenarios in hitman and loved them [the beach mansion, the base, etc]. I never bought the whole thing, though.

I also really enjoyed the mobile hitman sniper game... doesn't hm2 have some new version of that?

And last, do I need to actually own hm2 to get hm2 to run the hm1 missions or can I just have the demo?

Unless I missed something, it's just the one scenario, but it's pretty good. I think you just need the Prologue to access them, if that version works in Hitman 2.

And The Quartering is proven correct again. It's funny how all of the "mainstream" game media plagiarized his video, and not once gave him credit.

Same day as episode 4 is released so it more than likely won't be on the disc itself. Wish they would delay the physical release so it's all included on disc.

Still glad to see the last season still happened.
