Thank you for the responses. My 4 year old daughter doesn't scare easily, and I often play Mario / Zelda games in front of her, and she can handle them, though KH is more violent. I think I'll try a bit of KH before KH3 comes out.

Being able to read may be the most important part of getting her into RPGs.

I’m going to try it again. I really would want to play PS3 games and am not too excited about streaming. But my internet speed just went up so good time to check it out again. I dumped PS+ but if the PS3 game streaming is good now, I may consider Now.

Edit: yeah, it still is slower than crap. Takes forever just for the game lists to load. And now I just got “no results found” for all games. Yikes. Not promising.

Nope. It has 2 of the games then cutscene crap for the others in each one. 2 games each basically. To be fair the cutscene only titles were ds/3ds titles iirc so it wasn't really very applicable to port them for ps3/4. But you really aren't missing much for the side games anyway. 1 2 and birth by sleep the prequel to 1 are the main important ones.

Reading isn't that big a deal. I just read the dialogue of Dragon Quest 11 to my kid when they don't have voice overs, and he uses it to practice reading and numbers. Like, he loves telling me how much gold and experience we get for a battle, and I have him compare new equipment.

The monsters in Dragon Quest 11 are absolutely perfect for 4 year old. Like silly cartoon creatures, they have him cracking up all the time

Nope. It has 2 of the games then cutscene crap for the others in each one. 2 games each basically. To be fair the cutscene only titles were ds/3ds titles iirc so it wasn't really very applicable to port them for ps3/4. But you really aren't missing much for the side games anyway. 1 2 and birth by sleep the prequel to 1 are the main important ones.

Hey, you can't forget the mobile game, that one's the most important! /s

I haven't cracked my ps3 version, so maybe I should wait for this too. My experience with Tri Ace games (Valkyrie Profile 2) is that there games as difficult as hell though

The only hard part of RoF is learning all the game's systems cause it doesn't do a great job explaining anything to you (and the way they set up the default party makes the battle system confusing at first.) Otherwise the game is actually pretty easy to be honest, especially if you do side quests.

Once I spent a couple hours going through all the tutorials and practicing I absolutely loved the game myself, really fun battle system and the art/world design is really awesome (the whole game takes place on this giant mechanical tower, spinning gears everywhere and all that.) Total recommend.

That includes things like items that let you cut down bushes, push boxes around, water plants, etc that opens up more of the map and is just a fun, consistent experience that has a good pace to it.

Don't sweat that rumor. The quote being passed around barely says anything. More importantly, they basically started working on the PS5 the day that they released the PS4, if not sooner. Sure, we might get it in 2019, but we might also get it in 2020 or 2021. The newest rumor is just that.

I’ve been waiting for a decent sale on PSVR games and I’d figure now would be the time for me. Unfortunately, it’s not. A couple big hopefuls for me would have been Rez Infinite and Superhypercube. Neither are on sale.

I might go digital on Farpoint and Eve Valkyrie, but beyond that, sales aren’t that good.

This might be the only time it's ever been on sale in two years, so you either get it at 30% off or you're probably not buying it.

That's the game plus the season two content, not S1. If you want both seasons, the Ultimate Edition is what you'd want.
