This is genuinely stupid. It's nobody's responsibility to make sure someone doesn't take comments personally which are clearly not directed at them. It's great that he takes it upon himself to do the sales lists, but that doesn't mean a bummer comment about a lame sale is his to take the brunt of. He doesn't make the sales, nor does he need to take it personally when someone doesn't like something.

I don't know if he has superiority complex or what, but if I want to talk about a lame sale (or lack of one) I'm not going to put kiddie guards on my comments because someone will get their feelings hurt - WHEN IT WASN'T EVEN DIRECTED AT THEM - .

I know that, but it's tougher when my dumb brain also takes praise in a weird way that causes my impostor syndrome to flair up and try to disregard it because I'm not worth praising. I'm working on it, but it'll take time.

I never said you can't criticize or discuss things, but writing things immediately after posting the sale like "The update to this page be slacking" or "Terrible sale" or "Garbage sale", it's a bit mentally deflating and makes me question why I'm using my free time for this. Don't misconstrue the sort of posts I'm talking about with the majority of what's here that's fine.

I just think some more positivity and people realizing the things they post in frustration or disappoint can affect people they don't intend can do wonders for the general discourse here on CAG.

Truth be told sometimes I take breaks from being on CAG because of the useless rhetoric that happens in what seems like too many topics now. It's definitely enough to cause some serious energy burnout. Just do your best to ignore and maybe even block the folks that are acting up on here.

 
It is really great that Frisky mentions that the negativity gets to him and so on weekends doesn't spend as much time here as he used to, and then our response is to get negative about him specifically. Maybe we should recognize that Frisky is one of, if not the best CAGs and we should be a little respectful of his feelings in this thread. But this is the internet, so go ahead and pile on.

Everyone - including me - should remember how much of a tedious job it is to do what Frisky is doing.  Imagine you're Frisky for a second.  Every Tuesday, Friday, and other holidays, you have to constantly look at and refresh PSN store and type up the list of games, prices, and platforms in certain format.  One mistake you make or, God forbid, you're late or busy with real life stuff, people talk.  And you get paid 0 dollar.  No vacation, no bonus, no credit, no ad profit, no reputational advantage.  Can you do it?  Can you do it as well as Frisky currently does?  Therefore, even if you think Frisky is acting in a manner you cannot really approve, please be understanding of his personal struggle and be a bit more gentle in your approach and words.  I already see too much of hatefulness directed to him...  You can hate him all you want in your mind, that is your prerogative, but no need to spew it so violently - that serves no purpose and gets you nowhere.

Frisky, please understand that some people just do not know much about what challenge you're going through, and how much time and effort it takes to constantly monitor digital storefronts and update deals.  And please understand that, as much as they have no idea what is going on in your life, you or I or any person cannot understand what is going on in their life either.  Someone might be pissed off by all that surrounds him or her, and be negative about everything.  Someone might vent their frustration from school or work.  Someone might be short on money and be genuinely anxious about lack of sales.  We just never know.  Hell, I don't even know why I myself act a certain way, from time to time.  And guess what - not a single person here can take up your work here.  No one.  So please understand that, for every one frustration, at least nine or ten appreciations come your way, I being one.

To a degree, this is everyone's fault and no one's fault.  Small misunderstandings and lack of understanding piled up to this mess.  I sincerely hope we can just get past this and have more fun in this thread.

Easier said than done. People often struggle with doing things they enjoy and makes them feel good along with the stress or critical nature of doing it.
 
shadow of the tomb raider even worth 30? I heard some bad things about it. what about the season pass?

GREEN=No, don't take offense to that. Thats not directed at any person, it's directed at the lack of a sale, weak sale, or rehashed sale items. Which *YOU* have no control over, and thus not directed at you.

Frisky, everyone does appreciate what you do here (on CAG with all your threads) I'd say if a post doesn't directly mention you (or your "lack of an update" for example) then i'm willing to bet it's directed at Sony/Nintendo/etc.

Just a side note, I know the PSN sales update tuesday, and the eShop on thursday. (Both Frisky threads) So i generally don't bother looking for the new "sales" that day until later. It takes time, I don't expect Frisky's post to be done till late afternoon. And not cause Frisky is slow.. it's that the store page (Sony in particular) tends to be s l o w to update, add stuff, or update prices throughout the day. Frisky isn't a magician.. And Frisky does not decide whats on sale.

I also agree with rappersk above, but would like to amend his post.... No Frisky, you are not allowed vacation time. ;)

 
Ok got an odd pinball question here. The zen pinball 2 tables are on sale for ps3 and vita but Frisky also has the PS4 logo there.

I don’t always play pinball but when I do I play on pinball fx3. If I buy the tables on zen pinball 2 can I get them unlocked on the fx3 game? Do I need a vita or ps3 to make that work?

I want the Bethesda pinball pack but it’s not on sale (yet) for the pinball fx3....

So confusing.

The tables are Cross Buy between the PS4/PS3/Vita versions of ZP2 (PS4 version has been delisted since PFX3's launch), which are then also transferable to PFX3. There should be an option to check your licenses for tables to unlock them if it doesn't show up the first time.

 
The Final Fantasy sale is always my favorite.  Nostalgia, I guess.

I initially signed up for PS+ (back when you didn't need to have it) to take advantage of the PS+ prices for all the FF games.

I saved more with the sales than I spent on the PS+.

Ah, memories.  

If I ever finish Okami, maybe I'll finally play 7 (or I could always play 10 AND 10-2 again)

If I own a physical game on PS4 say Horizon Zero Dawn or FFXV Day One Edition, can I buy the DLC/Upgrades digitally to work with the physical copies, or do I have to own the games digitally to get the digital DLC to work.

I would say $20 is the sweet spot. I got it for $35 and beat it and it was fine, nothing special. I would say it is a definite step back from the previous one but very much the same game play loop. The story is not great but none of the previous stories were very good either. Haven't played the dlc so can't comment on the season pass.

Pretty much all DLC is digital (it's an acronym for Downloadable Content) itxs always been designed to work with any version of the game whether physical or digital, as long as it is installed when you open the game
 
Is that Prison Architect basically a GotY edition for less than $1? Definitely going to get it, looks like it should include the base game and not just the DLC, but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Seems like a great deal.

Any word on Tacoma? I enjoy the walking simulators and liked Gone Home, but not sure if it will go lower/just be free at some point. Think I also got spoiled on the end from one of the GotY Bombcasts last year, though I mostly knew the 'reveal' before I played Gone Home as well and really liked that. 

 
For everyone that has been let down by the PSN sales, here is what I recommend:

Just expect Sony to keep letting you down with the sales.  That way you won't be shocked, angry, or sad whenever a new sale comes out.  And, you won't feel the need to post how crappy the current sale is.

And, whenever there is a good sale... you will be pleasantly happy.

How is that for a win/win for everyone?

 
I'm looking at ZP2 Core Collection, Classics, and Iron & Steel. I'm going to have to check to see which of these will be unlocked on ZP3. Anyone know offhand?

Not sure how the PS4 port is, but I'm considering picking up the Bit.Trip series for $0.99 again even though I own them on PC. I remember a couple of the PC ports being pretty bad, though I can't remember which ones (Runner worked great, though).

Now I have been out of the FPS MP only genre for a very long time... so I heard there was some controversy with Battlefield V. Just looked into it after seeing your comment...

It was pretty solid. The graphics are great, with the jungles feeling alive. I think it was my least favorite of the three, gameplay-wise, though, but that's largely due to the second half where you're kind of stuck in one area for most of it that I found a little meh. The first half was great, and the second half still had its moments. I have the season pass (got the Croft Steelbook Edition), but I don't think anybody can really comment on it since none of the DLC is out yet. The first DLC challenge tomb comes out at the end of this week.

I really liked the new Tomb Raider. I think it looks gorgeous and feels like a solid entry in the franchise. I heard they sorted out the trophy glitches too. I haven't started it up since September, but I'm crossing my fingers some of them will pop automatically when I do.

The pricing and complicated cross buy of all of these pinball tables is maddening.
Frisky steers you right with his advice and cross buy links, but trying to figure out what to buy, what you own and the cheapest way to buy it is impossible by looking at the store.

I find it funny as a black person that a lot of us can get upset over playing as only a white character but if a lot of white people are forced to play as a black one only they flip a table angry at it or playing as a woman.

I welcome diversity. And diversity isn't code for genocide.

Thats not the issue here, it's re writing history because some people complain that in WWII most of the militaries involved were "white men"

Thus we need to re-write history and put a female main who is handicapped (spoiler, would not be allowed in military as a handicapped person... nor on the front line fighting in WWII)

Want to set the game in 2018? or later? fine with that.

But don't re-write history.

And those that complain about being forced to play as a black man, or a white man, or a female... they have issues. Again, thats not the problem here.

And I think you missed his "/s" at the end. ;)

 
LOL at people complaining that BF V isn't realistic.  No sh*t.  It's the video game equivalent of a summer blockbuster movie.  Check your expectations of realism at the door.
