I disagree. While $1.49 is a great price, I decided to pass because the digital version of the game is huge. Unless you have the space to install it, I would wait to find the disc version for a reasonable price.
Everyone has the space to install it. Modern systems have this neat feature where you can delete games and redownload them later you should try it out.

I said that back in the day, now the best feature is to buy a 4tb or higher exhdd to go along with the 2tb hrd. Wouldn't even have to delete.

Deaths gambit, prye, battle chef brigade for me. Thinking about burnout cause I wanna play a racing game, its been so long but Im fed up with remasters spent to much time on them. Dirt isn't arcade style with other cars from the looks of it. Anyways did we get a 20% off code last year, I'm still thinking of holding off til the end.
I'm really considering Death's Gambit, Chasm and Mr, Shifty. I've read Death's Gambit had some really serious bug problems and crashes, anyone have some input on that? For the record, I'm a fan of Dark Souls/Salt & Sanctuary/Castlevania type games. Can anyone talk me off (or onto) the ledge if you have some insight on any of these?

Hey guys, check your e-mail for an e-mail from Sony giving you a code for...a free Happy Holidays Dynamic Theme. :???:

I opened the e-mail that said "Unwrap your special holiday gift" and saw a code and was like, "Woah, a 20% off code?!"  Then I clicked the Download Images button and saw it was for a Dynamic Theme. :nottalking:

Guarantee it’s taking the place of a coupon code. Save your bandwidth, Sony.

I suggest you all rush to enter it.  The code expires in less than 3 years.

I never, ever get emails from Sony giving me something free.  This one I get.  I'm using it and I will enjoy it.

I upgraded the HDD in my PS3 to 1tb a few years ago and even with all of the games on it I still have a ton of space. I had to buy a 3tb external HDD to use with my 500GB PS4 Slim and a 2tb external for my 1tb X1S recently.

I just delete the games I know I won't be playing any time soon from the HDDs on those two to save space.

Why a 3tb instead of a 4tb? Hopefully a much higher exhdd be cheaper in a few years also being able to use the ps4 exhdd on ps5 of bc exists.

Got an email from Sony with a code for a Happy Holidays Theme.
Yep thought it was a 20% off code, now I'm doubting we get one. I can say I would be upset if we did get one later on after I purchase what I want.

If any of you are looking for any last-minute gift ideas for me, I have one. I'd like the head of Sony right here tonight. I want him brought from his happy holiday slumber over there on Melody Lane with all the other rich people, and I want him brought right here, with a big ribbon on his head. And I want to look him straight in the eye and I want to tell him what a cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, dickless, hopeless, heartless, fat-ass, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed sack of monkey shit he is!

Not to mention, physical games do full disc installs nowadays. You need the same amount of free space either way. Unless something's changed in the last couple years , I know that's how it was at PS4 launch.

I believe they're talking about a PS3 game, so that's not really the case there.

Why a 3tb instead of a 4tb? Hopefully a much higher exhdd be cheaper in a few years also being able to use the ps4 exhdd on ps5 of bc exists.
3tb is the best I could do at the time, it's been working out well all things considered. Between it and the 500gb internal PS4 drive I've got quite a few games loaded on them. My ultimate goal is to upgrade the PS4's and X1S' internal HDDs to 2tb respectively and get an 8tb external HDD to max out.

Well thats a downer, hope those problems were fixed. I'm gonna have to research that before I buy. Also deaths gambit similar to dead cells.

The free theme didn't take the place of anything since Sony has given PS4 holiday themes 3 years in a row now and also gave a couple PS3 themes away during that era.  Last year was the ugly sweater theme and 2016 had a yule log theme.  This years is pretty nice, though doesn't feel as Christmasy as the other 2.

I played a lot of Dead Cells and enjoyed it pretty well. However, they are right now testing a pretty significant patch on PC that changes the games to be much harder (and it is already pretty tough) and it will likely filter down to PS4. I've watched a few people streaming it and was not impressed.

Why the fuck would they do that. So it's like they see bunch of folks having fun with the game and be like, I'm going to update this making it even harder and fuck with these guys; how dare they like what we make.

Like you said it's hard enough already but looks balanced, where you get enough satisfaction to try again and learn the game a bit more. Hate this shit. Hope its at least optional where you can still opt to get the vanilla experience if you'd like to.

I missed the yule log?

Well the higher the cell level the more ridiculous the increase is from what I've seen. To the point where every enemy can teleport and Elites have extra abilities. But in general they have changed some of the more powerful mutations like reducing cooldown on skills isn't just a reduction anymore, you have to actually do things like dodge to reduce them.

I ended up getting the email for the free theme but I already redeemed the one a CAG gave away a few posts ago. Here's a code for anyone who didn't get it.

Don't forget you can delete installs to save A ton of space after you finished playing a game. Dlc as well if you want to save extra small amounts.

You didn't miss much, it has no sound and looks rendered on a PS1. You can see it here:

Side note: EU got this fantastic one in 2015:

Wow, I hadn't DL'd it yet but that's awful. I'd love to have a theme of a fireplace and ambient crackling with snow falling outside a window. fucking Sony isn't in the Christmas spirit with their half-assed classic system and now this theme. /slap

So any chance we'll see the ps4 spiderman season pass go on sale before Christmas? We haven't started it yet and picked it up on a good holiday sale,  and I'd like to get the season pass before we see the goty including it goes on sale for $30...lol!

Doubtful. The last episode goes live on Friday 12/21, so it is unlikely they put it on sale right as the last third comes out. It doesn't make sense to discount it when the fact that it is available generates significant interest.

Or alternately, what better way to get people buying into the season pass with it all being available and offering a discount, beforevtge inevitable goty release announcement?

It could happen! ;)

Is Alienation more like Nex Machina or Hell Divers from a progression stand point?  I loved playing Nex Machina but the idea of replaying the same thing over and over again to try and get a higher score isn't a huge draw for me.  The progression part of Hell Divers kept me coming back for longer even though I liked the game play of Nex Machine more.

While I am asking I am also looking at Crimsonland.  Where does that fall or is trying to compare all of these games not really possible?

Thanks

We really liked it for farpoint, but other than that we haven't used it again at all for anything. I don't 3ven know what other games even support it.

So are (lots of) the current sale prices really good through 1/15/2019? I have a 20% coupon that came w/ my console (thanks to whoever reminded of that) and I'd like to wait until more stuff goes on sale this week before using it.

Yes. The OP has end dates for everything, so you can double check that stuff if you need to.

That doesnt sound promising. Lol
There’s enough games already to get some good use out of it. Plus it basically makes even mediocre games better to play. Farpoint, Doom VFR and Firewall Zero Hour are your best games that support it. Supposedly Gearbox is working on support for Borderlands 2 VR. There’s Evasion, Unearthing Mars 2, Arizona Sunshine. I’m sure there’s others also, but there’s not a ton of applicable VR games to begin with, so having 4-5 quality experiences and counting is pretty reasonable.

Alienation is a dual-stick shooter Diablo game, basically. It's a successor to Dead Nation in that there are often times swarms of enemies that come after you to make aggressive play more challenging than for those that carefully explore each area. You pick up loot throughout each mission, try to have the best gear and weapons for the situations you come across, and get to the end of that level to keep the good stuff that drops. Replaying missions is for getting better gear, power levels, and the end game stuff. If you want something with more permanence and customization of abilities, Alienation is what you should get since it's also a great game.

Crimsonland is a pure arcade experience where you're going for high scores like Nex Machina. The hook with that is that every time you level up, you get to pick a random perk that could help or hurt your chances of getting that higher score.
