nice to finally get a release date for Full Frontal Assault (Vita), I got the PS3 version that went on sale recently so that means I get an additional two games for free and all three for less than $10, got to love ps+
Haven't played Sleeping Dogs yet, just booted it up to install the update. Sure I'll enjoy it though. Having not played it at all, should I download the 4 major DLCs before I start? Do you play them along the way of the story, or should I play them first?
The DLCs that come with the Plus version is an additional outfit, a race pack that gives you additional races during the game, and the red envelops, which you can get additional money at all the parking lots in the game.
I saw Rayman on the PS+ banner on the facebook page? Is that an upcoming title or has that been a Plus game for a while?

I don't care to go in men's rooms in real life, not sure this is a game for me.
Virtual men's rooms are much more fun and entertaining. And the possibility exists for you to play the game in a REAL men's room. The ultimate meta game!!!

I havent played any of the story based DLCs yet and you dont need to before the main campaign. I would play them after the main campaign, but thats just me. no reason you cant do it either way though. The story DLC like Nightmare shows up when you first start the game and it asks you which story you want to play (main or DLC) before you can do anything else.

I wish they would move up the release date to late July or August. Summer is a dead period for new releases, not just on Vita but overall.

I can't wrap my head around this fact because most people vacation during the summer. IMO that would be the perfect time to play a new handheld game (while waiting at the airport, on a plane or in the car). Touche!

it'd be awesome to have that battle car for the whole game though x.x

Nice on the big fat sale! It's probably to attempt to pull as much news coverage off of Microsoft that day that they can. I'm all for it :)

Well put. They can take as long as they want in my opinion. As long as it's a quality release. Would like to experience a quality FPS on a handheld for the first time.

It may be weirdly worded, but it doesn't look like Deadlocked HD is out next week:
Furthermore, we know many of you are excited about Deadlocked HD, which we are including as a bonus thank you for your patience on the PS Vita release. The fine folks at Sony and Idol Minds are wrapping it up, we are expecting it to be available soon.
I assume summer is dead because development staff take vacations then with their families. The 4-6 weeks before release is usually crazy busy with overtime and extra days so they probably give folks a break to spend with family. Sucks from a consumer perspective but otherwise makes sense.
They get a break after it's released, not before. There's no summer vacation for developers.
After the first two major FPS games for the Vita failed, why would you want them to rush this one?
Selfishly, I want to play a new game while waiting at the airport. It doesn't necessarily have to be Killzone but since there isn't much else coming out for the Vita, I would gladly take it.

I'm sure I'll find something else to play or read.

Yeah, they worded it very weirdly, but I'm also under the impression that Deadlocked won't be out next week either, even though they said it would release the same time as FFA Vita.

Yeah, always nice to hear about upcoming big fat sales. There's not really a ton on PSN that I want that I don't already have though...maybe ToeJam and Earl will go half price...

Someone in the thread said you do get to keep the battlecar after finishing the DLC after someone else said you didnt. Haven't played SD yet, but they saidi it would be last on the list of owned cars.

Isn't it just the tired old idea that no one games during the summer plus that games sell well for the holidays so why put them out too much before then unless it's a big time title?

Why that's not adjusted somewhat for handhelds is anyone's guess maybe it's just development schedules that fit patterns they're used to.

Sucks for people like me that will game the summer away in the AC until cool weather comes back and I'll go outside again LoL

Doesnt make sense to me especially when those who are in school, dont have class in the summer and therefore have more time to game. Id love to see a publisher release a major title smack in the middle of summer and see how it does

infamous 2 came out week of E3 in July. Did better than the first, though Sony titles never sell particularly well any time of the year:cry:

It was the top-selling individual game of that month.
so...Jacob Jones is great on the vita. everyone should buy it x.x
Been hearing good things, always good to hear from a fellow CAG though, might have to grab this. I'm nearing the end of MGS2 on VITA though and plan to go straight to 3 so might be awhile until I get to play this.

Doesnt last more then 4 hours. You could breeze through in between. Also, it's just damn funny.
they're irrelevant to me
But, they are not irrelevant for those who are of the age to have a summer break.

Fact is, tho, those who buy the most games don't have a summer break and have to work for a living, so really the school summer break is irrelevant to the game industry for the most part. Holidays are a bigger motivation.

As for game developers getting breaks, I know my friend who works for Zenimax Online will be in crunch mode until August, so so much for that theory.

Darn. Now I wish I picked up R&C during that sale.

I don't think (or missed) an answer to a previously posted question about Jacob Jones... are the puzzles challenging? I don't like games with easy puzzles, but am interested.

Re: persona / Shin Megami
Wow. I've never disagreed with a post more. It's all subjective of course but there's absolutely no way I go through a Shin Megami game without the social aspect. The tedious demon fusing and everything just bores me unless I have the social stuff driving me forward.

God I hated DDS. But I guess some people play RPGs for the story and connection to the characters while others just want a battle system to tear into. The cool part of the Shin Megami series is that it has games for both sets of people that are very good.
Yea, I don't play rpgs for the story, just the battle system. A nice story is a plus, but cutscenes and such generally bore me to death (a few exceptions, i loved the stories for chronotrigger, skies of arcadia, and ni no kuni, but for example the story/characters in dragon quest viii came off too childish for me). It's probably why I loved FFXIII (once it opened up) despite it's incomprehensible (imo) story.

DDS doesn't have fusing, by the way. You just have your main characters and an exquisite battle system combined with an exquisite leveling up system. Weakness / strength system incredibly well implemented with enough variety to keep you on your toes.

And a good story, to boot, though again, not my main interest. Nice and dark and adult.

Devil Summoner does have fusing, and i like that too. It's the high school stuff in Persona that drives me up a wall.
Yea, I don't play rpgs for the story, just the battle system.
For me, that's like saying you read Playboy for the articles.

And I wish we'd get more dungeon crawlers like Wizardry on PSN. XD

Last of Us isn't releasing smack in the middle of the summer like he said he's looking for.

I've got no idea how someone can think Dragon Quest VIII is too childish and then give Ni No Kuni a pass. I wanted to love that game so much, but it plays like a JRPGs for Dummies and never once stops holding your hand. The art style and presentation are astounding, but once the awe of the visuals fade you're left with a barebones game.

Not even gonna bother arguing about FF XIII. Atrocious.

I love Persona and SMT.
I'm willing to bet that The Last of Us will underperform.
I'm super hyped for this game, but I think that's going to be the problem with it. There's so much hype and build up surrounding this game that I don't think it can ever live up to expectations.

Persona is SMT, you mean the "main" smt series?

Have any of you ever read the articles in Playboy? They're actually pretty damn great. The "photography" amounts to how well someone can use photoshop.

Any thoughts on what will be free for PS+ in June?

My wishlist for disc based game:
Ico and SOTC HD Collection
Killzone 3 or Resistance 3

Vita game:
Sly Cooper Thieves in Time

PSN Titles:
Not going to bother, its such a crapshoot what they give out for free (and so many have been given away for free or had super cheap sale I dont see the need to EVERY buy a PSN game at launch)
Id love to see a publisher release a major title smack in the middle of summer and see how it does
NCAA Football comes out in July (practically) every year and seems to do fairly well for EA. ;)
