Sleeping Dogs starts to drag every time I go off looking for collectables, but every time I go back to the story missions it pulls me back in. The story is pretty entertaining. And I love that the missions arent all that long and drawn out. I wonder how this will impact my enjoyment of GTA 5. I hope Rockstar implements a similar system to SD where the missions are shorter and have more checkpoints.
Don't do the collectibles then. I just get them if only if I run into them during main or optional missions. Then I stopped once I was rolling in cash money.
so if you have P3P, the P3 FES is still worth it?
for $5 yeah

you would be paying $5 to play through the game with a "different character control", different battle system(cant control your teammates, can only change their tactics) and an additional dungeon mainly.

think of it as some odd dlc
I freaking loved the heck out of Critter Crunch, 100%ed it without a guide and had a blast! Anyone have a good suggestion for another fun puzzle game on PSN?
Heroes of Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes should be right up your alley. The DS version may be better since it benefits from the dual screen setup, but the ps3 version does have HD sprites.

Check out Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes, which is another Capy game in a similar style.

Will do, hopefully it will go on sale soon (missed it on Steam recently I think, but I'd prefer it on PS3/360 anyway). Thanks for the suggestion:)
why are you doing completely optional things in a game if you don't find them fun lol? just do the story mode, i'm idk maybe halfway done with it but i haven't done any real exploring and the game's still been easy enough without the boosts from finding random stuff.
My comment was meant more to praise the narrative and mission structure than to mention how boring it is to look for all the collectables in the game. I almost always enjoy getting collectables in games and in this one its even better since they map them. But it does get tedious just as anything in life that is repetitive. Doesnt mean I hate doing it, just is what it is. Anyways, the story pulls me back in when I feel like I need it and thats a good thing.

PS3 version also rebalanced some of the different powers and such. I forget the details though. Also, online play!

DDS is incredible. :) DDS 1 & 2 were my first experiences with the SMT series. I wish they'd bring them to the U.S. PSN like they did for Europe, as I'd probably buy digital copies for convenience like I did with P3 FES.

Doesn't FES also have much better cutscenes than P3P? I haven't played P3P myself, but I remember people saying something about the cutscenes being butchered to fit in the portable version-- less (or no?) voiceovers, or cutscenes being removed from the game, or something. So there's another reason FES would be worth a playthrough, if that's true.

It's an Ubisoft published game, it seems to pop up fairly regularly in their publisher sales.
I'm in chapter 3 of knytt and some of the objects seem unreachable. Am I going to unlock a new transformation or something? All I have now is a bouncing ball
Nope. You actually start chapter 3 with your entire toolset. It's all about learning how to use that toolset, rather than continually locking new tools like in a traditional Metroidvania. Sometimes you'll see something but you'll have to find another path to get to it - entering from a different room or something like that. You also don't need anywhere even close to 100% collection to complete the game, so if one particular item has you totally stuck just go explore somewhere else for a while and eventually work your way back there.

There's only two things that P3P has that's better than Fes.

1. Fully controllable party.
2. FemMC route adds some content and a new perspective on the events of P3.

That's it.

Everything else FES does better. If those two things matter more to you than anything else, I'd say go for P3P, otherwise FES is the clear answer.

^^^ fully concur.

unless it's a game you'll be wanting to play on the go 80% of the time I'd start with FES, get the cutscenes as you discover the story and the flow of the game/battles/fusing, play the answer bonus bit of FES, then come back for a second playthrough using p3p using the female main character.

Is there a way to tell what DLC is installed in Sleeping Dogs? I bought/downloaded quite a few, left it going over night, found some ok and others corrupted data. Deleted the corrupted/failed downloads and the ones successfully downloaded were automatically installed (i'm guessing) during autoupdate.

just want to make sure everything i bought downloaded/installed properly. the only thing showing up in game data utility is street racer pack, and when i start the game it only gives options for main story and nightmare in northpoint. should i download/reinstall the whole batch?

The way that dungeons are structured is a much, much better fit for the PSP/Vita.

For $5 you can't beat a great RPG. I got Persona 3 FES when it first released as a PS2 classic and I love it. It's the first Persona game that I've played. I say get them both, you have The Answer content on one and the Girl MC content on the other. Wait till Atlus has another Persona sale for the psp games.

Darn you guys. I got P3P during the last sale for $10. Can't bring myself to spend another $5 on FES when I have barely played P3P. =(

I'm home a lot more than I thought I would be and being able to able it on my big screen is definitely appealing, however.
The way that dungeons are structured is a much, much better fit for the PSP/Vita.
I have to agree with Frisky on this one. I loved me some P3FES back in the day on the ps2. However, it's better for me on vita or psp because partly of what he said. Also, by the end of the game (the last boss to be exact) I was so freaking annoyed by the inability to control my characters and the fact that I spent literally hours upon hours on that boss. Mainly because of the stupid AI casting worthless spells. It really drove me to insanity haha. Which made me mad because it was such a good game other than that simple inability to control your party.

If you're new to persona or hate foolish AI decisions which get you killed stick to the portable version if possible. I love the cinematics and walking around in the ps2 version but I couldn't make myself go back to the tortue of not being able to control party members lol. But hey, if you just have a ps3 or want to experience the original version of the game then $5 is not that much of an asking price. You'll maybe have better luck than me with it.

I was always under the impression that P3P was the better version but I guess not. I don't care about seeing the story from a girl's point of view.

still looking for good Rpg games to download into the vita

anyone

Also looking at
Cladun X2
and
cladun

have these been on sale in the past few months (seeing if it would be wise to buy now or hold off)

crap thought they were 10 seems they are 15.... top to be my cap unless i knew they were real good and long
I was always under the impression that P3P was the better version but I guess not. I don't care about seeing the story from a girl's point of view.
It's really hard to say which is better seeing as they both have their faults. P3P is definitely superior when it comes to gameplay seeing as you can directly control your party. It also makes things like persona fusions less of headache. Also, playing the game as a girl really changes certain aspects of your social links. You get to see different sides to characters since they react differently to the main character's gender. Playing as a female might just change how you view a particular character.

P3FES, on the other hand, has more content in the form of "The Answer". You also get the 3D environments and cutscenes. They definitely add a nice aesthetic touch as opposed to the interactive novel feel of P3P.
The way that dungeons are structured is a much, much better fit for the PSP/Vita.
Agreed. I'd love to see the cut-scenes everyone's talking about, but I can't imagine not being able to suspend the game when needed. A few battles I've encountered drag on forever...

Stolen from a Gamefaqs thread in 2011 (thanks XXI_World whoever you are)

Vanilla P3:
- Male Protagonist route.
- Anime cutscenes.
- 3D character models both in and out of dungeons.

P3 FES:
- What Vanilla P3 has, plus:
- Extra minor scenes in Male Protagonist route.
- 1 New social link (Aigis) for Male Protagonist.
- More Personae than Vanilla P3.
- New minor gameplay features.
- The Answer, an epilogue starring Aigis.
- New music only available in The Answer.
- New anime cutscenes only available in The Answer.

P3 Portable:
- Male Protagonist route.
- 3D character models ONLY inside dungeons.
- Visual novel cutscenes.
- Aigis social link.
- Female Protagonist route.
- New music and social links for Female Protagonist.
- More Personae than P3 FES.
- Cameo from P4.
- Major changes in battle mechanics.
- Still has most gameplay features found in P3 FES.
- New quests and bosses, not available in P3 FES

I already have P3P from the last sale but dropping $5 on FES doesn't seem like such a bad deal after looking at this list. Think I'll do a first run on FES, and a second run on P3P with the female protagonist. Sounds like the way to go.

So according to this thread, the Sega Genesis Collection (PSP) works on Vita as "Discovered by users. Download these to the PS3 first then transfer to the Vita" but isn't officially supported. Do games like this typically have wonky issues (stutters, freezes, crashes and the sort)? Or is it just that you have to download to the PS3 first, then it runs perfectly fine? My Vita is coming in soon and I would love some Genesis stuff on it.

No, they've been tested to work, but the publisher hasn't done the re-licensing needed to get it on the Vita's PS Store.

They work fine. It's just some weird sort of limbo state in which the game has been tested but hasn't been relicensed or something like that.

that would of been the first game i got just for the phantasy star games but sadly no ps3 = no game :(

Are you playing on Vita or PS3? I know there's one jump that's impossible to make on the Vita version due to the amount of frames it gives and you always end up just short. There are a couple videos on YouTube confirming this. I played 99% on Vita and just on PS3 to make that one last jump to finish it off.

That's wrong, I got my 100% on the Vita.

So I hear the long-term Instant Game Collection titles (like LBP2 and inFAMOUS 2) will be dropping off soon. Is this true or just rumor? I ask because I have a friend who will be getting a PS3 this year and is very much interested in getting PS Plus but she won't be getting it for several months.
So I'm guessing Sony will introduce a new selection at E3 like they did the first selection last year?
That is the general belief, but anything is possible. However, I stand by the GoW screw up points to that being part of the new set, than a freak accident.

Agreed! I love those two games.

Aww man, I suspected I wasn't cool! I didn't know about this either. ;)

Haven't played Sleeping Dogs yet, just booted it up to install the update. Sure I'll enjoy it though. Having not played it at all, should I download the 4 major DLCs before I start? Do you play them along the way of the story, or should I play them first?

Wow. I've never disagreed with a post more. It's all subjective of course but there's absolutely no way I go through a Shin Megami game without the social aspect. The tedious demon fusing and everything just bores me unless I have the social stuff driving me forward.

God I hated DDS. But I guess some people play RPGs for the story and connection to the characters while others just want a battle system to tear into. The cool part of the Shin Megami series is that it has games for both sets of people that are very good.
