Bad thing Valkyria chronicles IS NOT ON THE VITA ALONE (i dont think)

you need to download it into your PS3 and then transfer it to the VITA

Dont own a PS 3 yet...

now if it was a stand alone game that would of been the first game i got
I would love to see Rayman and Kingdoms on US+.
Nice month for EU. I already have Rayman digital on Vita so I don't want that. But KOA would be sweet. Also, I have no clue what that Coconut game is, but it's always sweet getting new games right at release. I hope we get something similar next month.
Does anyone have a clue why EU+ can announce their next month's games so much earlier than NA+?
I'm sure the US could announce it whenever they want, they just don't. But ya, I have no idea why Europe is announcing so early now.

nintendo does the same thing tells 2 or 3 days before... here you have to wait till thursday to know what is coming

I guess if I could announce a lineup like EU+ has been getting lately, I'd want as much mileage out of it as possible. With NA+, maybe they announce with short notice to limit the window of whining.

Does anyone know if this week's $9.99 price for Valkyria Chronicles II is a limited time sale price or a permanent price drop?

Seems possible.

I figured the RE: Revelations demo would be insubstantial but man was it short.

I feel the Soul Sacrifice demo has ruined me for what demos ought to be for all time to come.
I Platinumed Sleeping Dogs, and had absolutely no trouble getting all the XP for both the Triads and the Cops by the end of my first playthrough with no purchased DLC.

The digital version of Sleeping Dogs comes with the Retro Triad pack, which adds 10% XP bonus to the Triad side. Put that set on before your first mission.

But honestly, you could get to level 10 for the Triad even without this free DLC. I only had a few missions where I had maxed out all 3 triangles at the end. Most of the others I was around 2 1/2 triangles, and still got to level 10 at the end of the game. You will not have any problem reaching level 10 on the cop side well before the game ended.

For the Triad XP, all you have to do is varied your attacks. I use the Leg Break attack, followed by the Heavy Knee attack (hold down the O button when they are stunned), then the Arm Break attack. And you should always counter with O + Triangle once that is unlock with the last Zodiac Jade returned to Si Fu. As soon as those Jade statues where available early in the game, I went and grab all of them besides the final 3, which are mission related. During the car chasing and defending missions, make sure to aim at the tires first (remember, there are 4 on the cars and 2 on the bikes) before blowing them up/and or killing the enemies. And don't rush to use the environmental kills. Use your legs breaks and arm breaks to wear them down, and then finish them off with the instant environmental kills last for max points. I hope that helps.
I'm not surprised that you were able to get all the XP (I got level 10 cop XP just from the drug bust side missions, and finished off Triad XP by replaying the funeral level), but it's amazing you were able to find all the lockboxes already. Even knowing exactly where they are, it's a massive hoovering project that is going to take me some time even still.

Our definition of "absolutely no trouble at all" differs greatly, lol. I didn't think even remotely as much about the other challenges in the game, and managed to obtain their respective trophies. That's what was fun about it. Granted, I had the physical version (that didn't come w/ the triad dlc).

EUROPE: Entering PS Plus in June.
29th May: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
29th May: ICO and Shadow of the Colossus HD Collection
29th May: Demon’s Souls
5th June: Rayman Origins
5th June: Coconut Dodge Revitalised

That's a really nice lineup, I bet we will get some of those games at some point.

Was already posted a couple pages back. Nice lineup.

I was able to get all the XP well before the last mission, without having to replay any missions. But as far as the lock boxes go, they didn't seem to be that much trouble to find. I was able to do them pretty quickly, along with the associated cameras by area. I guess I was more lucky than others since I usually find half of them in one area while doing missions, events, jobs etc. The other half I saved for last, after finishing off my final mission. The task may seem daunting at first, but once you get going and start finding them, things will just flow smoothly from there.

You can take a Taxi to places, and that alone will save you huge amount of time. There were about 3-4 lock boxes and cameras that were below ground, which can present some problems locating at first. So if you see something that you just can't get to, can't drive there, try jumping off the cliff, diving into the ocean and look for underground ports.

If US follows then I should dump my KoA. Thanks for the info.

Having played Kingdoms of Amalur, I found it's one of most the underrated titles of 2012.

It had some fantastic combat and customization that far surpassed what you would expect in an action RPG. It was basically what I wanted Fable to be without all the nonsense.

I wouldn't mind seeing that game come up as a game on our IGC at all.

So, not only were you able to do this well before the campaign ended (and with no additional DLC), but you did it without replaying a single mission...? Please, lend me your potion.

EU does get some good stuff but...I already finished Rayman and we got Demon Souls. I'd be in for the ICO, Shadow Collection so I could sell my copy. I've heard Kingdoms is good so that would be nice. Overall though I've been pretty happy with what I've gotten after being a member for a year or so.

Oh joy, please don't tell me we have grammar and spelling nazi on this thread now. :p Let's please all try to remember that we're human and make mistakes.

KoA would be a nice free offering for US sometime. I never really gave it a chance and ended up selling it to pay for some other games when it came out. So that'll be the perfect excuse to give it a second go.

if we do get it, hopefully they put the dlc on sale. another game i already own, lol. otherwise, only rayman would interest me from that list, and only cause it's on vita.

i could definitely see us getting ico and shadow collection, and maybe even gt5 since 6 was announced today.

I want Rayman, but I want it for PS3. Wouldn't mind Amular ether, but I don't know when I'd have the time to get through it. Ico and Shadow collection would be fine, but I'm not really in the mood to replay them right now. And WTF is Coconut Dodge Revitalized:lol:

Aside from Coconut Dodge, I literally have every one of those games coming to EU PS+ in May. I'll be pretty disappointed if we end up getting a few of those, but I won't complain too much. I'm happy with what US plus has been getting and one or two down months just allows me to tackle the backlog plus has already given me.

That's because KoA and Rayman were $10 at BBY right?

We both represent opposite ends of this spectrum, I don't have any of those games and would be delighted to get them through NA+, really hoping for Amalur out of all those. NA + IGC has really turned it around this year after an awful 2012 (DS and SD being my highlights). I've probably spoken too soon and they'll be loading us up with sports and fighting games this summer

I actually bought KoA when it was around ~$20 and still haven't gotten around to it. :( Rayman was purchased during that $10 sale though and I've played that quite a few times. I'd rather have it on PS3 since that's the console my girlfriend and I play more, but I've already almost beaten it on 360 so I'll likely just stick with that.

And this is the exact reason why I'm okay with not getting the games I want. You're excited to play games you haven't gotten to play yet and even though I haven't played all of them, I know they're great games that should be experienced by everyone.

Yeah, I also just finished my $10 Rayman. The wife quit after we reached night of the livid dead because it was too difficult for her to keep up.

I kept KoA sealed because I remember speculations about it being hard to find. But no signs of that yet, so probably will just sell it once (if) it comes to US.
Same here!
You guys must have serious self control to have skipped on $10 Rayman and $10 KoA from BBY, especially at that time when everybody was trading stuff and accumulated tons of credit.

Even I caved in, I salute you gentlemen.
Are you implying that Atlus monkeyed with the PSN release and added widescreen support? I thought it was just emulation.
I don't know for a fact that Atlus modified things, but to my eye a comparison of PS2 disc & PSN P3FES somewhat different. Turning on the PS2's widescreen from 4:3 leaves everything looking somewhat stretched, not terrible, but noticeable; the PSN version everything looks a little better widescreened - a hint of stretch but not as bad. It could be down to a difference in the PS3's emulation rendering and smoothing displaying a little differently than the PS2's native graphics processing;, it could be down to component cables vs HDMI (though with the video throughput and resolution of PS2 games this would likely be a negligible factor if at all). I do all my console gaming on the same 24" color-calibrated LCD monitor I use for video/photo editing and computer games/netflix, since I don't own a TV - from what little I've read there could be inherent differences there as well, as most TVs have algorithms built in to "widescreen" 4:3 content and my LCD monitor does not, meaning the picture is purely the unmodified output from the source.

TL;DR - It could come down to a lot of things, but to my eye the PSN version played on a PS3 looks noticeably better than the PS2 disc version played on a PS2. Not something I've really put time into researching, but something I definitely noticed. Don't know whether Atlus did a thing to the source to improve the widescreen - just know it displays nicer somehow.

I have to say, in a the PS+ blog whining sessions, Sony did say they were listening and improvements would be coming. It took some time, understandably with the complexity of securing games for +, but in my opinion they are delivering on the improvements, specifically genre selection and freshness date of the games. Fingers crossed this improvement continues upwards and does not revert. If they give out Hitman Abs, Arkham City and Amalur in the coming months, I'll be very happy, though I'm sure some segment wants different games than these. I'm not sure what the majority really wants since they stopped making their survey results public.

I missed that sale, or I would have jumped on Amalur for $10 bucks. Rayman I'm not that interested in, go ahead and flame me. I'll try it if it comes to +.

I never flame others for liking/disliking games. If it comes to +, I hope many will try it and encourage development of these "old school-ish" 2D platformers.

I tried KoA demo but I was not impressed and Rayman Origins looks really fun but I spent all my budget in other titles, although I will gladly give them a try later if they hit PS+ NA.
And about self control, right now I am working on my backlog (only 11 games left on the shelf!), the only game I have bought this 2013 is Injustice (PS3).
You guys must have serious self control to have skipped on $10 Rayman and $10 KoA from BBY, especially at that time when everybody was trading stuff and accumulated tons of credit.

Even I caved in, I salute you gentlemen.
When/from where were these two games going for $10? Were they used for that price?

I definitely missed that sale, as I paid $20 for KoA and $14 for Rayman months ago (both still un-played--- backlog!).

I don't know about Rayman, but KOA went down to $10 when BBY was going crazy with the all the GCU coupons. Ahhh, what a glorious time.

Rayman was $10 at the BBY blowout, along with Deus Ex for $10, and inFamous 2 for $10.

Tsel broadcast the whole thing while sitting on the toilet.

I don't recall the Vita version of Rayman being on sale.

Sorry, forget I said anything:whistle2:#

There was a weekly BB ad stating a $10 price for Rayman Origins on "all consoles" awhile back. I think they assumed PS3/360 only but many of us were able to apply it to the Vita version.

+1, that's how I picked it up. Even though I had it on PS3 I couldn't help to get a portable copy for that price. The Vita version looks beautiful on the OLED screen.
