Me me me, I'm a digital hoarder and loved Cabin in the woods

I hope the pinball arcade tables go on sale... I've really been itching to purchase almost all of these for the crossbuy option! It will also narrow down my choice in buying a real pinball table to ones that are not currently simulated on pinball arcade!
Is it better to active a PS Plus account on the PS3 or online at the PSN Store through your computer?
I don't think you can activate it through the website with a code and why would it matter?

I think it makes you add those through the PS3.

hey one more question i just thought of (hopefully last)
about the psn + where you can play the download games free as long as you have an account...

Do you need a active hook up to the net ( meaning does the system hook into the internet everytime you open these games )

right now i only hook my router up when i download crap and then disconnect it so my systems are not hooked up to the net 100 % of the time

Thanks again

Nope. As long as the game is on your system and you have your PS+ subscription, you're good to go.
Is sleeping dogs for Plus live yet?
Not until the store updates. Try back in 6 - 8 hours.
My kids just turned 6 and 4, but I love the Vita for sneaking in some gaming time when we do movie nights and they're watching Wreck-It-Ralph for the 100th time. Being able to suspend play at any moment = best feature ever, too.

And yeah, to all the new dads (congrats, by the way!), newborns sleep a lot. I'll always associate my daughter's time as a newborn with Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. :D
I wish I had a newborn that slept a lot. He's 4 months now, but in the earlier months he hated napping. He still hates napping.
Indie Games section coming to PSN today, Retro City Rampage is 1/2 off to celebrate in addition to Papo & Yo being discounted & Zombie Tycoon 2 being free for PS+
I'm a huge fan of Sony's push to promote indie devs on their platforms, but I hope their games won't be exclusively relegated to the Indie Games section.

New games all deserve the same amount of attention and push - Hope to see new games all promoted along the top banners and main pages - just like they did with Guacamelee.

Doesn't do much good to push for indie games then hide them away in a corner.

This is very true, I myself am more of an Xbox guy but have all the systems, and on their you basically never see any ads or announcements for their indie games, you have to go to the marketplace then specifically go to the indie section and hit new releases and search through a bunch of stuff to find the good games, hopefully Sony does a better job at letting people know that some of these games launch.
hmm was Ghost of Sparta PSP ever on sale/bundle in any form?
Would love to play it on my Vita

(or does the HD game support Remote Play)
I bought it this past week and have been playing the hell out of it on my vita (or is it the Hades out of it?) Anyway, I've been wanting it for a long time and have been waiting for a sale. It's been at least a year (it may be two actually) waiting for the price drop. I would grab it quick before the update.

Time to decide if I want the original MGS in my digital catalog. I've played it before and enjoyed it, but I don't currently own it and don't see myself wanting to go back to it any time soon...

It'll be included in the new complete set and who knows how it'll be tweaked in there.

Well just logged into the store and looks like things are being taken down and added. Tried to go look at "expiring soon" and it is greyed out, and Sleeping Dogs shows up but still full price. All of last weeks sales look to be off already, but you can see some of what looks to be on sale in the "all deals" section... Fallout 3, Doom BFG, Dishonored, AC3 to name a few.

Thanks for letting us know. I was hoping to get a look at the full list of sales and whatnot in this week's update before deciding on getting MGS digital or not, but I just bought it now so I wouldn't miss the sale price!

It's just going to be a code to download it from PSN.

It was like that when I hopped on earlier to buy Ratchet as well (2 or 3 hours ago).

Here's hoping for an early update.
I want to buy MGS1 but I already have the PSX disc version. Just gonna wait for the Metal Gear Legacy collection, I think.
Yeah, I used to have the PSX disc as part of the PS2 trilogy they released. But I sold that a while ago and now MGS1 is the only game I don't have. I won't be picking up the legacy collection because I own all the other games.
Does not compute.. best game evah!
Fine, I'll buy it. Damn, it's 780 MBs, I'll have to clear some room on my Vita memory card.

I have been comtemplating what to play next for the last few days. I completely forgot that Sleeping Dogs was free tonight.

I just finished the story for AC3 and I finally decided to start Sideway NY (cant remember if i got it free or discounted from plus). It is a cool little platformer, but the rotating buildings can be a pain in the eyes from time to time. Anyways, its okay, but now that Sleeping Dogs is coming I know what should keep me occupied for a few weeks. I hope it is as much fun as it looks and everyone says it is. Glad I didnt buy it for $20 recently.

Gah, caved and got Soul Sacrifice with my $10 credit. I need to stop buying games at release D: Isn't Papo Y Yo pretty short, can't decide if I'll pick it up with the discount.

planning ahead:

any of the sleeping dogs DLC or DLC packs worth it? do any of them add anything to the game outside of cosmetics / stat boosted crap?

When you download a game which is free with PS+ it is imprinted with the date your PS+ is set to expire so that you don't have to maintain an online connection (unless the game itself has online DRM like some capcom games that would be present even if you bought it). When it expires the game will cease to function.

Retro City Rampage is rather crappy and barely worth the price of free with PS+ let alone half off. The 80s references are amusing but the gameplay ranges from bland to godawful.

Apparently the 3 story DLCs for Sleeping Dogs are Nightmare in Northpoint, Year of the Snake, and Zodiac Tournament. Some seem to like them, some seem to hate them.

I don't know what RCR you've been playing, but I think it's pretty damn fantastic for a cheap indie title. I have spent most of my playtime with the Steam version, but I did try it on PS3 when it came to PS+ for free and didn't notice any significant difference.

Can't comment on the game, as I haven't tried it yet, but $15 isn't exactly what I'd call "cheap"

Especially for digital.

I wanted to like RCR too, but couldn't. I remember I had more fun with GTA II (possibly a bad comparison, but couldn't think of anything else that I played when I was young at this moment that is similar to RCR), but perhaps they are about the same but times have changed.

Nevermind, I figured it out. Turns out the download for the PSN store application doesn't go ahead of other downloads like normally for some reason.

I really don't want to miss out on getting Sleeping Dogs, but every time I try to access the PSN store this week I get these messages on screen.

Anyone get else get these messages? Spoilered for spacing.

"Downloading the latest update data...
It is recommended that you use this software after the download is completed.
To check the status of the download, go [Network] > [Download Management]."

It let's me press circle to go back. A new message appears:

"A new version of the application is available.
Close and restart the application and accept the latest update (required).
Press the PS button to quit the application."

I check and there is nothing under [Network] that tells me the status of the download. It says I have the latest update.

I don't know what this "Software Update" is exactly, but it is making me unable to access the PSN store.

I let it sit for awhile and nothing happens. Usually, it starts a download automatically. Any ideas? Thanks ahead.

My advice, hit triangle on the PS Store icon on the XMB, hit delete, once it is deleted click the PS Store icon again to force it to download the app again. Hopefully that fixes it.

You're not going to miss out on Sleeping Dogs. For one, it's not even available for free yet and two, it'll be on the store for at the very least, a few weeks.
I didn't see any new discounts or free games. Did I miss them?
We don't know this week's sales in their entirety yet, so there could be some discounts on Vita games. You can't expect them to discount or put up free Vita games week in and week out and if they don't, they're not assholes. You just expect too much of them.

I doubt it. Different regional codes. Digital save files also don't usually work with ones from physical copies as well.
This may have been asked but does the european sleeping dogs save file work with the us version?
