MGS: The Legacy Collection coming July 9th:bouncy:

or did they already announce a release date and I'm just dense...
Why are you surprised?

This is the PSN thread, which might get off topic, but still is usually based off whatever is added to the store or things related to the store. MGS 1, 2, 3 and Peace Walker are already on the store and while I am 99.99999% sure 4 isn't, would anyone actually BUY MGS 4 digitally?

Sure it's a good deal, but it has absolutely nothing to do with anything related to this topic besides MGS 1 is digital and it's a PlayStation title.

Vr missions?

If MGS4 ends up on the store, it's certainly not going to be too large, further confirming that Kojima was talking out of his ass when he said it couldn't be done on the 360.

If Ni no Kuni is like 26, I think you can expect at least that from MGS 4, which in my mind is too much. Especially when you consider you need over 50 gb of usable space just to install Ni no Kuni.

I guess I've just come to think of this thread as the general Playstation thread, and tend to forget it's supposed to be for PSN deals. My mistake, just thought some people were interested to know the release date (I know some were debating whether to wait or not when MGS was on sale a week or two back).
The articles are by far the best part of Playboy, or at least they used to be. I don't know if they've kept up the tradition of commissioning pieces by great writers.
This is true. Although Playboy isn't nearly what it once was, the magazine has published some incredible authors. According to a quick google search, literary giants appearing in Hefner's pages include: Joseph Heller, Roald Dahl, Ian Fleming, Gabriel García Márquez, Margaret Atwood, Haruki Murakami, Norman Mailer, Ray Bradbury, Jack Kerouac, and Kurt Vonnegut.

It does mean that VR Missions will be coming to PSN in the future. Though it might be exclusive to the collection for a while like Twisted Metal Black was.
What are Amy and Papo & yo? Couldn't really tell from the PSN site. Are they any good?

What are Amy and Papo & yo? Couldn't really tell from the PSN site. Are they any good?
Papo y Yo is about a game developer who hates his father. Amy is about a game developer who hates the player.

MGS4 will never be on the store. I'm pretty sure its over 40 GB.

Same with Gran Turismo 5 and Killzone 3. Not sure on the size for those, but they have stated that the size is the reason for their exclusion.

I doubt MS would even allow something like a 7 disc MGS4. It would make them look pretty silly.

How many questions do you plan on asking?
I wouldn't if only because the developers are awful.
What is it you're quoting this for? Not trying to be a jerk, but I just see a post about the devs saying the game is being rated bad because it's too hard for some people. Is that what makes them awful, or is there something else they said in the comments? I wasn't about to soft through 220+ comments to find out.

WAY back when the game first released, it was getting nailed for technical bugs and problems with fundamental aspects that made the game awful. Instead of admitting to their own faults (or attempting to patch it), they instead claimed the game was just hard. In response to that Facebook post I linked you to, Destructoid said the following...

Destructoid can confirm that the Easy setting does not fix repetitive animations, glitches, lack of player feedback, disrespectful save system, disgusting controls, awful voice acting, graphical stuttering, characters sticking to walls, agonizing A.I., dark visuals, or the ability for players to break the game by performing actions out of sequence.

If you actually read the comments in that post, you'll see that a good number of people agree with what they're saying.

Even some of the Facebook posts point more towards design flaws than difficulty problems.

Cj Melendez It's not just "hard". The checkpoint system is broken regardless. This game needs a patch, please.

There are many flaws that would be great if were fixed. Design issues I can live with, an unpolished game with bugs that punish you for trying to play I can't. Here's hoping AMY get's patched. I really want to like this game.

Susan Arendt So...it has typos because it's hard, then? It has consistent graphical issues because it's hard?
January 17, 2012 at 3:44pm · Like · 5

Even other sources went on the same path.
This statement is amazing. It completely ignores the fact that parts of the game are entirely broken, like the segment Susan mentions where an enemy appears and the character model is (sometimes) inexplicably missing a head. It glosses over the noted issues with collision detection (which are only important, you know, when you need to fight monsters). It also makes a point of avoiding the noticeably bad control scheme. Instead, the statement just puts all the blame on people who don't like the game by effectively saying "everyone else likes the game just fine; what's wrong with you?"

There are plenty more if you really care, but I think I got my point across.

Are we holding another "Amy" sucks convention?

Is it monthly now?

Anyway, that game is terrible.

Papo & Yo is actually pretty spiffy and well worth checking out. Just don't expect a challenge from the puzzles in that game as they're not very involving.

Oh I wasn't doubting you. I just didn't know the story and didn't want to wade through all the comments. I bought Amy a while ago, I think in October when I needed something like $2 to get one of those spend $50 promos. I don't know if I'll ever get around to it though.

Does Knytt Underground start skipping for anyone else? Most of the time it plays fine, but after a while it starts randomly skipping. Since the game requires fairly precise timing on jumps, it really messes with me.

I never ran into that once. I played it on Vita exclusively.

I've had it briefly pause at certain points in the map and I think it only affected one precise jump I had to do. I was able to compensate for the delay though. This was on my Vita.

You know? I had tried the Resident Evil Revelations demo, and I got dizzy during the very short and brief gameplay. I don't know why. I hadn't gotten dizzy or nauseated playing a game in a very, very long time. None of the first-person shooters had made me dizzy the past 3 years or so, just Resident Evil Revelation.
So did I miss something, or was capcom trolling us about the Okami news this week? I don't recall hearing anything, and didn't see it mentioned here either.
It was actually 2 weeks ago, and I'm pretty sure the news ended up being "for Japan only" and didn't involve any sort of new game.

I'm not sure exactly how the Okami rumor got sniffed out in the first place, but I think what happens is someone innocuously mentions or tweets "stay tuned for an announcement about Okami" then that news is hyped and blow way up. I remember a similar thing happened with Bayonetta a couple years back, and it ended up being a Japanese-only Platinum hits version of Bayonetta with a reversible cover.

They just announced some new Okami-related merchandise - a pen, notebook, and stickers :(
