Just started Lego Batman 2 for vita and I get the bad reviews. Not that gameplay is bad (it looks great) but I'm convinced I have glaucoma based on watching the cutscenes. To not redo them per platform in this generation is lazy and they're kinda worthy or a critic burn. Plus I find myself obsessively punching everything to get coins! What Have I done? I'll be doing this for hours.
Yeah, they're really really bad, and it's kind of unacceptable for them to do that. If it wasn't a Lego game with fairly simple graphics and an equally simple story I'd be a little bit more perturbed. I just roll my eyes every time they pop up, then put up with them for the next 1-2 minutes until I get to play again.

hmmm? howd you do that? id love to backup my games on an external or something
They're not backed up, I just bought this hard drive and used to it upgrade my PS3 hard drive.

Ended up spending $38.50 on this sale, nice job Sony.  Didn't realize I'd spent quite that much, may have to rethink my plans to buy all the PSN Play games.

Although, by selling my R&C Collection and trading in Alice I did make $27 right back.  :)

I've read that a lot.  Where did everyone get the idea that the summer sale was more than 2 weeks long?  Right when they announced it, they announced 2 weeks of deals and nothing more.

Because Summer lasts longer than two weeks? Who knows. I seem to remember some people arguing about that on here last year. Between this and another week of Steam, I don't think I could handle the sales being any longer.

Hey! I happen to like Genji. I thought the game was beautiful, and had great combat mechanics. It was very cheap, too. I guess I was the only one who thought the game was a good showcase for the PS2 then.

I got my PS4 preordered too. I've always been a console gamer, since my reasons to buy a PS2 day 1 was MGS2 and for PS3, MGS4. Konami jumped ship and it's understandable, but I loved how carefully crafted those games were for their time. I'm older now, probably no excuse to jump to pc, but I like what a console brings to gaming, more than any media center that is "gaming capable" or a supersmartphone with its "gaming apps". All in all, I cherish my backlog, and the more I can finish before PS4, the better. Those launch lineups sure are looking too good to be true though. Once upon a time, we had the Kameos' and Genjis' of the world, hahaha.

Go into your PS3 menu, and then Settings then System Settings. Choose to backup to an external USB drive.

If the trial version is the same size as the full game, then just download the trial version and then apply the activation key. If not, try adding the full game to your download queue by going to the the PSN store's website on your computer and log in. Then go to your download history under My Account > Transaction to see if there are multiple files like languages and movies, etc. You only need to download the main game. See if that will work.

Hey everyone, finally decided to start cleaning out some of the downloads I've accumulated from plus (beat Space Marines over the weekend... pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed that one). Ran into a problem that I'm hoping one of you can help me with.

Went to play Tomb Raider: Underworld and of course it had expired. So went the normal route of going to the store to get the unlock key (which I had to do with Space Marines also) and this time it sent me to the trial version of the game. I noticed it was the trial so I searched for the actual game listing and when I tried to download it I got a message saying that there wasn't enough storage available. There lies the problem, as I actually have over 50gbs free.

So is there a way to work around this or am stuck deleting the game and redownloading it?

I wonder how long is the gameplay for Ducktales? And does anyone know if we can pre-order the game(s) and then cancel before the release date?
Probably about 2-4 hours depending on if the difficulty's the same and no content's added. I would imagine like everything else on PSN that there won't be any cancellations or refunds on the pre-orders.

Ended up getting both Lego Batmans, Lego Pirates, Star Wars, Prince of Persia HD, Class of Heroes, Silent Hill, and LOTR. I think I have a problem.......

For the Atlus PSP games that are still on sale, which game is arguably the most fun? I kind of want a simple RPG, nothing too complex, and not a tactical styled game either. Do any of the games fit this?

I hear most of the games are meh, so if I don't get anything out of it I won't be upset, but I'd hate to miss out on something I might enjoy.

Crimson Gem Saga is probably the most traditional since a lot of the games on sale try to add some twists to the standard formula.

Crimson Gem Saga or Hexyz Force fit I think

Hey, so I finally started playing LBP Karting and it's pretty fun. One of the trophies requires you to play online races against other human players so if anyone is interested in racing with me, let me know or just add me.

Welcome to the club, we have meetings every new moon.
I was able to take myself out of the club. I only bought Alice and LEGO Batman 2 this week.

Quick question

I'm gonna get PS+ soon since I got a Vita and gonna get a PS4, for the instant game collection and judging off the free games list, do I get Wipeout/Uncharted/whatever else was at launch along with the current month's free games, or do I just get the current month?

Anything that's available for free at the time of your subscription is available to download.
Like he said but you have to go in and add it to your account by "buying" it through the store. You can do it through the system or the web store for the systems you don't own. Should just make sure to claim everything that's available because you just never know if you'll want it one day and once it's off free you can claim it any longer.

all the games have their fans, you can't really go wrong. the most traditional jrps are Crimson Gem Saga, Hexyz Force, and Riveria.

I'm playing Riveria now - it's divided up into bite sized missions (plot and a couple combats, basic exploration, then save point). Combat is basic enough and definitely far from complex. There are benefits to winning battles fast and winning with special moves, so there's some optional strat in that regard, but it's not necessary.

The best game in the group that i've played is yggdra, but that's likely too complex/tactical for you.

not sure whether to get the following

Silent Hill: Book of Memories (expiring soon?)

Gungnir (thinking of waiting for price drop?)

Growlanser (next price drop?)

Class of Heroes

Rock of Ages (got it on PC.. but was thinking of getting it for easier co-op on PS3)

Trine 2 (got it on PC.. but was thinking of getting it for easier co-op on PS3)

getting the other Atlus games though

Did like you suggested and queued it from the website. Seems to have done the trick, thanks!

Unfortunately it made my system automatically install all my downloads that I hadn't gotten around to yet so I was sitting around for 30 minutes before I could check on it lol

Picked up Alice: MR and Force Unleashed 2. I restrained myself from a nostalgia impulse buy with POP Trilogy. But I'm still kicking myself for falling asleep at the wheel and missing out on SOTC and Ratchet & Clank Collection... Wait, what's this over here? -PLAY lineup emerges, observes Ducktales - dark foreboding music begins, trance-like stare ensues (sees only radiant glow of PS logo), reaches for wallet, empties contents all over the floor followed by a brief pause, shakes head vigorously... everything returns to normal (sounds of Silent Hill sirens fade). What just happened, was I dreaming?

gun and grow are at thier bottom prices i think.. the last sale they were the same price 7.50 each so when they do go on sale in 2 to 3 months they will probally be 7.50 again

i just could not get into HILL (also think it will be free by end of year) and could not see putting 7.50 into porting gungnir

Don't be afraid to try Yggdra. It's a brilliant game, and is very simple to pick up. It's basically a rock, paper and scissors type of game with a little bit of excitement mixed in. It's very hard to put down once you start playing the game. I can't say enough good things about that game. Heck! I might as well start playing it again.

Agreed. Yggdra is a gem. It's a lot of fun, but you can get yourself into a bad position with some poor choices early on. Fun mechanics though.

PS+ prices are listed in the OP under the heading "Playstation Plus" at the bottom.

Edit: And after grabbing Tokyo Jungle Mobile and installing the last couple of PS+ offerings, my Vita's 32GB memory card is full. Definitely cuts down on my potential purchases for this Atlus sale and others in the future. I hope Sony decides to stop being greedy with memory prices soon.

Welcome to the club. I filled up my 32GB card in less then 2 months due to PS+ and some amazing sales. Sony needs to release bigger cards 64GB or 128GB and drop the price some.

I picked up Alice, Riviera, Yggdra, Class of Heroes and Tokyo Jungle psm.  Of course the Sony Rewards store is out of $10 digital cards just when I have enough points to get one for free so I am debating on a few more purchases.

I don't know what it is about TJ but I just love that game and the mobile version is quite fun.  I am playing on my phone at the moment but will download to my Vita tonight.  The phone controls are on screen which works for the most part but you have to be more precise when using the "stick".  It's very easy to move in the wrong direction which makes hiding and planning attacks a bit more of a challenge.

I've been reading alot about Retro City Rampage having harsh difficulty spikes and very unforgiving checkpoints. As someone who gets easily frustrated(I don't have enough free time to try 20 times over on one section of a game), should I give it a shot?

Stick to the Lego games.
I was actually looking for a serious answer. I enjoy a good challenge, but I don't want to play back through a part that I've mastered more times than I can count just to get back to the part of a game that is giving me trouble. I work 2 jobs and free time is precious.

I recently upgraded my HDD to a 750GB drive so I'm now downloading the games I never had the space for. I'm on wireless and I've noticed my downloads are always pretty fast. Also with PS+ downloading my games in the middle of the night it's never been an issue. I guess it's really not the same for all but I always find it odd that that everyone complains how slow the downloads are.

I never found the game hard except for maybe trying to beat the Smash TV clone without dying (but that's not necessary unless you want a trophy.). I also didn't like the game the first time I played it, but came back to it a few months later and almost beat it in one sitting.

Thanks, I've been on the fence for a while on this one. The concept sounds awesome, just looking for a few opinions from others.

I was very excited about it when I first heard about it, but like others above, started it, but soon moved on. Just not my cup of play style I guess. I did dig all the 90s jokes though.

Like TheCro, I never found it all that hard. There were a couple frustrating parts due to the controls, but nothing that took more than a few tries.

Oh wait, except the final boss. That was frustrating as hell and took me forever.

RCR isn't a great game. $5 is about what I'd recommend paying for it, nothing more. I found the gameplay to be rather bland and most of the missions felt like fetch quests for me. I enjoyed a lot of the references within the game but a lot of people will get tired of them.

No, the only fleetingly amusing thing about the game is the 80's references, the gameplay itself is not that good. If you are not a child of the 80's (and thus wouldn't get the references) then there would be nothing redeeming about the game.

The core gameplay of driving around and on foot is ok, it's when it veers into different gameplay styles (such as a sidescrolling swim underwater avoiding deadly objects, an aping of smash TV, or the MADDENING Rad Racer-style final boss) that the game falls apart completely. Recognizing how awful some of these segments can be, if you die enough times the games let you skip them (except the final boss). I got it for free with PS+ and it was such a chore to finish I had zero desire to do any of the remaining side missions.
