Telltale mercenary. They want to charge 25 bucks for the walking dead on vita, even to users that already have the ps3 version? come on, they should at least give us some sort of discount!!

Hey, I know this is late, but thanks for the thoughts as it was exactly what I was looking for. I ended up getting Katamari and skipping Sumioni. I haven't tried it out yet since I'm still working on Dragon's Crown.

They're going to put Runner 2 on Vita? I would have loved that to begin with. I feel the exact same way about the big screen with that game. I feel like I'm getting vertigo if I keep at it for too long, which is a shame because I really enjoy the game.

This week I'm considering Guacamelee, New Little King's Story, and I'll probably get Nun Attack just because it's so darn cheap. Muramasa is quite good and probably one of the best original retail games on Vita right now. I think Dragon's Crown tops it but still quite enjoyable with incredible graphics.

I'm trying to stock up my Vita before my wife goes into labor with our second as I imagine that's the system I'll be on for a while.

Is built-in Remote Play for everything on the PS4 the most exciting feature of the new console to anyone else? Every PS4 game on the go or from any room in the house? I mean, how cool is that?

Also, flipping excited about Castle of Illusion. My cousin had it and that was always the first game I'd play on his Genesis when we would visit.
runner 2 -- yes, but no date announced yet that i know of. and iirc it won't be cross buy because the ps3 version has a publisher and the vita version is self published.

I'm also about to get Guac and NLKS, and also Dynasty Warriors and probably FC: Blood Dragon even though i don't game on my ps3 as much lately (vita stole my time).

Nun Attack - serviceable and worth the sale price, though it gets repetitive by the end. the gameplay is a rip off of a far superior ios game (that had a nice lewt/inventory system). still, i bought it on release and 100%'d it.

Remote Play - can't wait! we're expecting as well, and i'm completely unsure if i'll have any time to game after that. i have the ps4 preordered, but for all i know i won't have a spare second for it. but i'm thinking i will have time for vita, so perhaps remote play will be perfect.

Yeah I want to pick it up but already own the PS3 version and played through the first chapter. I might just leave it to the PS3 this time.

I have a friend who tells me all the time that the Vita is dead, and that it has no games. Just a couple days ago we were having this debate and I listed off probably 15-20 games for Vita that are awesome, and another batch that aren't even out yet. The response I got was "We'll digital games and indies don't count. When I go to a store, there's nothing out for Vita." I proceeded to tell him that he's clearly doing it wrong and is completely clueless.
Just get Killzone and play it in front of him.

Or find a new friend.

My one "maybe" purchase for the week is Dynasty Warriors Next.  I've never played a Dynasty Warriors game, but I've been vaguely intrigued by them.  Luckily there is a demo so I should be able to make my decision based on that.  But would it be OK to jump into the game with DW Next?  I assume there's probably not a ton of coherent plot or storyline from one game to the next.

Is it just me or do some outlets/usb devices not charge the PS VITA? I swear the only thing that charges my vita is my labtop. Not even the ps3 charges it, even with or without the cradle. Is my Vita defective possibly?

Its a really fun game. I enjoy it more than the console ones. The touch screen and back panel make it more enjoyable IMO. Definitely worth the $9. I dont think there is much of a plot, its just mindless hack and slash fun to me. This was the first game I decided to grab when I got my vita.

I don't usually charge via usb since I have the cradle with the charger plugged into the wall but I remember it not being great charging over usb to begin with. Are you shutting the system completely while charging or just putting it to sleep? I read somewhere in idle with the screen off it could use almost as much power as a usb charge would give. That seems a little crazy to me but maybe try shutting it completely and see what happens.

Hmm I've never had any problem charging mine wherever. Keep in mind that unless you are charging it via a computer usb port, a generic usb adapter to a wall may/may not work because it's not drawing enough amps. I've had that problem with a few of my other usb powered devices.

So basically unless you're plugging that usb charging cable into a computer or a external batter pack, I would use the whole ac adapter cable that came with your vita. Hope that helps.

we've discussed this before, but Sony should really market the Vita to young dads (and moms). It's really the _perfect_ console for when you have new babies in the house.

I did do that. The ps3 is on since it wont charge the vita when its off. And it does charge when off (orange light comes on the vita) for like 15 minutes. Then it will stop. I guess it does just need a powerful source to charge well.

I try to keep the wires to a minimum but I guess ill bust out the entire adaptor and plug it into a wall. See how this works for the next few days.

i researched this quite a bit awhile ago, so my memory is hazy... but if i remember correctly, the vita requires a bit more of a charge than standard usb, so depending on the source, it may not charge. turning it completely off may allow it to charge, but defeats the purpose. (i was doing this research while looking for a standalone power source, i ultimately grabbed the official sony one which is awesome).

i've also heard that it is 'always' charging if connected via usb, but it's just not shown as charging on the display sometimes if the source isn't providing a full charge. i don't know if this is true.

i always use the official power cord to charge my vita (attached to either the wall or to the official backup battery). i only use the usb for content manager, so i can't really speak to the accuracy of my earlier statements... general 'web advice' is all over the map.

Amen! Vita is my gaming lifeline. New kids and console gaming don't mix. Maybe having a working "suspend" on the PS4 will help, but Remote Play will be so so so so great ...

It is okay gameplay wise (I assume, since they are all the same), but there is no way you will be able to catch on the back story, which is based on the (thick) book of the Chinese history during the ruling of the Three Kingdoms.

Picked up Tales from Space About a Blob yesterday for $2. Good game but not as good as Mutant Blob Attacks.

Probably also going to get Nun Attack and Divekick by the end of the week.

Oh man, I cannot connect to any Killzone matches at all. Out of 30 attempts, I was only able to connect twice, one of which wouldn't even load past the loadout screen; the other I was able to play for ten minutes before losing connection. Is everyone having these problems?

I don't know if anybody noticed this or if it was formally announced and I missed it, but Sound Shapes is a launch title for the PS4. Near the end of the press conference, they showed a big screen of various logos for games that would be there at launch. Flower is also on there.

Hmm.. does this mean they're being ported and will require a new purchase to play them on PS4, or are they making certain digital titles cross-buy between PS3/PS4 for those who already have those games on PS3?

I think you need about 2 amps output to charge the Vita when you're using it. The USB port is particular, too. There's a way to strip the USB cable and splice the data wires, so only the power wires are hooked up. That will let you charge it with devices that push less than 2 amps.

I wasn't able to install the standalone star wars tables on vita either, but the Zen pack worked flawlessly. I don't even understand the point of releasing a standalone. Both installs work on the PS3, though. The only difference appears to be that in the standalone you're able to chooose between playing for the light or dark side. Don't think it's an option in Zen.
Disney probably wants a standalone thing so that they get top billing over just having DLC alongside everything else.

The online and PS3 store has been wonky. Couldn't sign in to get the freebies online, store was slow as hell and crashed once on me on the PS3. I also grabbed that free God of War Mantle thing but it doesn't show in my download list and won't let me re-buy it.

Got both Star Wars Pinballs to my PS3. I downloaded the Unlock Keys first, then the standalone. It was saying Trial after it installed. Had to re-download the key to unlock it. I am assuming the Zen unlock worked but I didn't check.
God of War Ascension DLC is included in the game's updates, so it doesn't show up in the download list and just instantly unlocks it in the game. They do list all of the DLC that you own for it under the game on the Services List (PSN > Account Management > Transaction Management > Services List).

Demos will do that from time to time, so just start it up and it should just unlock everything immediately. My copy of Star Wars Pinball looked like that before I started it up on the live stream and it worked just fine.

For some dumb reason I couldn't get UC3 to install until I downloaded it all.
You need to download/install the free-to-play multiplayer first, then the single-player and movie file since they're just add-ons for the MP.

Great time to jump on Clash of Heroes for anyone who still hasn't played it.
Agreed. I'm working on my third playthrough with the XBLA version, after the DS and PSN versions, and I've enjoyed all 100 hours I'm putting into it so far.

We already know that there are Cross Buy titles for PS3/PS4/Vita and such, though there hasn't even been a formal announcement of those two titles yet nor any details. You'll have to wait for there to be more news on their release.

okay, if i've never bought anything from zen pinball but gotten everything from ps+...

i should currently own 3 star wars tables, 4 marvel tables, and 4 basic tables, correct?  trying to go through the dlc on the vita is wrecking my head because the word 'demo' gets cut off the listing, lol.

Re: Crossbuy PS4 --

I believe the only confirmed 'cross-buy' is Pinball Arcade.   However, i personally think most will be... especially those being ported around launch.   it would be up to the developer, to be certain, but it's my guess that both developers and Sony will push for it for simple reasons of consumer goodwill.    I wouldn't hold my breath for certain publishers to ever do it, though... for example, it's likely everyone will always need to rebuy angry birds no matter what it comes out on.

----

i officially want to skip the 64g and go straight to 128g for my vita.  i just deleted 4 more games i either haven't or only barely gotten to yet to make room for this sale, and it's starting to hurt.   goodbye, Silent Hill, i hardly knew ye.

Pinball Arcade is not Cross Buy. It's been confirmed that they're going to offer a discount to those that already own the PS3/Vita versions.

Hohokum was the first Cross Buy title announced for PS4, PS3, and Vita.

I'm down to 61 cents PSN credit after buying Guacamelee just now. Enjoyed what I played of the demo. I tried to convince myself to wait in case it made it into a humble bundle or something, but I'll have more fun with it on ps3, and I hope I'll get a vita eventually, so the crossbuy might come in handy.

I am still having issues downloading the Vita version of Zen Pinball Star Wars.

I first downloaded it on PS3 but it wouldn't install on Vita after I did the transfer. I then downloaded it on the Vita, it wouldn't install either. Finally I followed the suggestion by one of the posters above and download the vanilla Zen Pinball 2 first. Now when I go to the PSN store and tried to download Star Wars, it gave me NP-2244-2 error.

What's the difference between Zen Pinball 2: Star Wars Pinball and Star Wars Pinball PS Vita Pack?

One is a standalone game and the other is DLC for Zen Pinball 2. Just get the DLC for Zen Pinball 2.

So YAY for all of these?

Dynasty Warriors: Next (butbut.. DW8 XL and WO3?)
UMvC3
DOA5+
Divekick
New Little Kings Story (butbut... framerate)

anything else?

I thought I read that a recent-ish firmware update for the Vita helped improve the framerate for New Little King's Story?

EDIT: http://www.psvitahub.com/2013/03/playstation-vita-system-update-version.html

"Upon further research, we can conclude that it fixes some lag issues in games Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus 2 and New Little Kings Story."

So I just played the Dynasty Warrior Next demo, and even though I had no prior knowledge of the game, I still blasted through the demo with no challenge.

So does the game actually get challenging at some point?

Did you play the Wii version? It is a remake. Other similar games include Pikmin and Overlord.

This version has some annoying slowdown when commanding a full troop and during frantic battles. It's also easy to miss a throw - be ready to hit Circle to have your men regroup instantly - but that was also in the Wii version.

Had to erase a few of my PS+ games to make way for MGS HD Collection. I really do need a bigger memory card, but I'm totally stoked to play those two games again... if they ever finish downloading. But for that price, I don't mind sacrificing the 3.3 GB of memory card space.

I have a couple of questions.

Was Home Run Derby free for a week? Or was it just a glitch?

And regarding memory on the PS3. Why do some games require an install to play while others don't? On those that I have to install to play can I delete the install but keep the save (is this what the difference is between Game Data Utility and Saved Data Utility)? Just trying to clean up space since this is the first time its ever been full.

One last question. Of the Uncharted 3 download for PS+. What is required to play the actual game (single player plus MP)? I see a bunch of french spanish things. Movies. I dont want whats not needed. I dont care about extras or the making of if thats what those are.

Thanks a bunch in advance.

Finally tried Star Wars pinball. It detected my 3d TV so I figured what the hell. Well holy shit - LATENCY. There was like half a second between pressing the button and action on screen. I had to use my TV's game mode which brought it down to an acceptable level where it was only barely noticeable.

Is there massive latency without 3d as well? I didn't get a chance to play without yet.

Home Run Derby was free for a week but I don't think it was actually posted on the store update for the week or anything

As far as the game installs, I don't really know why some require an install to play but with the games that have optional installs it always makes the game run better and have shorter load times so I don't mind them.

You can delete a game install and keep the save and if for some reason down the line you want to play the game again and it's a required install as long as you kept your save you'll have all the progress from before. Some games save some odd stuff to the game installs like some replays or have separate entries for dlc but usually those are small and when you highlight those it actually mentions that they are different. You were right and that's what the difference is between the game data utility and save data utility.

Looking at my game data list for example I have "Dynasty Warriors 8" that's 16 MB that is a patch, and "Dynasty Warriors 8 game data" that is 9852 MB that is definitely the install data.

As far as the Uncharted 3 on PS+ I haven't tried it yet so I don't want to throw guesses that I can't back up with my own experience
