:ps4: Foul Play - $2.00 to $100.00 [customspoiler='Fine Print'] :ps4: Foul Play is a part of the PlayStation Heroes program, which means that you can pay your choice among a variety of price points for an item that is usually a theme for entries into a contest to win some prize with most of the money going to a charity. There are no details at the moment for what the prize for buying Foul Play offers, so I'll post that whenever it's announced.

Edit: From the PlayStation Heroes app on PS4, the Foul Play promotion is for a trip to PlayStation Experience in December. Once you purchase the game, you're supposed to go here to register for the actual contest, though you should wait until the page is updated for the PlayStation Experience promotion instead of whatever it's on at the moment.[/customspoiler]

You have the Resident Evil 2 disks? Does your PS3 not play disks? Even then, if you are going to get all of those other titles you might as well get it too. The best game in the series, and the possibility of RE-Remake style remake is the main reason I bought RE-remakeHD already (at only 10% off...still have to CAG a little). Though I have some reservations about such a remake since the awesome gore of RE2 won't likely survive modern Capcom decision making.
I have multiple copies of RE2 on PS1 but I'm still probably going to buy it so I can play it on the Vita.

I finally tried out Binding of Isaac: Rebirth (Vita) last night and... woah. It's certainly living up to all the praise it has received.
The sheer number of items and powers that can be obtained in the game make it feel a little overwhelming at first. But, after multiple runs, it all started to click for me.

Early on, I was having some bad runs. I was getting items that slowed me down or seemed to serve no real purpose. I kept my distance from enemies because I was still getting the hang of their attack patterns (hoping every step of the way to get ranged upgrades/power ups).

Then I noticed that in order to unlock Eve all I had to do was make it through the first two floors without picking up any hearts. This seemed like a realistic goal and I thought unlocking the character could be helpful during future runs so I went for it.

As I worked through the first two floors, I did not venture into as many rooms and took fewer unnecessary risks. Things were going well and then I received a power up, the charge shot.

I was not pleased with this development initially. I was content taking pot shots at enemies from a relatively safe distance. The charge shot forced me to get in close and make my shots count. By the time I reached the level 2 boss I started to feel like a bad ass and took him out in a matter of seconds.

I earned the achievement for Eve and unlocked her character. Up to this point, the farthest I had reached previously was the boss on the 4th floor.

A short time later, I got a cat paw, it doubled the number of my hearts and changed them into soul hearts. Nice. I then got a tarot card that I had no idea how to use or what effect it had.

I then got the ring worm upgrade, which basically turned my charged shot into a ranged shotgun... Whooped Mom's Ass. That was fun. After the credits rolled, I thought, what's next? I went to the secrets section and there are 16 endings?!?! I guess I haven't even scratched the surface for the number of items found and I haven't even looked at what the challenges are all about.

All rants aside, this is a really good game. Each run feels like a fresh new experience because every time I'm given a different combination of items and layouts forcing me to change the way I play the game. It's games like this that make me wish I could pay for the game and unbind it from PS+.
Glad to hear it's clicked with you. Definitely my GOTY last year. And you've only scratched the surface, there's SO much more to find. As you continue to beat the end boss, the dungeon will get more floors, etc.

Charged shots were never my favorite, but you can make anything work in a pinch.

If you're on the vita, iirc (it's been a few months) you use tarot cards and pills by tapping them. Tarot cards are generally positive iirc, but usefulness depends on the card. Pills can be positive or negative, but the positives far outweigh the negatives overall. Once you use one it's identified for the rest of the run, so even if you take a bad one, you'll never take it again that run, whereas if you find a good one, you can now safely take it for the rest of the run.

Not sure how I feel about apotheon I did all the quests it gives you in the begging. having a platinum does make me want to keep with it thouhg

I would highly suggest anyone that's on PS+ to use the webstore instead of their system for this stuff.
I 2nd this.

When I downloaded the PS+ games a while back.. I needed space on my Vita to get Spelunky.

So I waited for the current download to finish, and deleted a Demo I had on the Vita.

And FORGOT to get Spelunky. Any Version.... I realized I never downloaded it, a day late. fuck

So Now on the first day of the new months free PS+ games.. I go to the webstore and add ALL of them to cart. Download what I want after that.

(Also got myself a 64gb card for the Vita so I don't run into that problem again)

This happens from time to time and it's obnoxious as fuck. It also can fuck up trophies. I had the same problem with Injustice and Titan Attacks. Earned a trophy in Injustice and it popped a trophy for Titan Attacks. Friend had a similar issues with Titan Attacks and Secret Ponchos.

It happens when you download and install games at the same time. I download everything on my PS4 one at a time. Like I said, it's super obnoxious, but it's the only solution that I know will work without having to delete and re-download games.
Happened to me the very first day I got my PS4.. Had to download the last of us twice... not exactly a small download.

VERY annoying. But yeah, learned my lesson.. download one at a time.

I love Binding of Issac. I played it like crazy on the PC and I've been doing the same with Rebirth, I really enjoy playing it on my Vita too. It's really the perfect type of game for Vita and feels right at home. I feel like Issac falls into the same category of other Indie rouge-likes such as Rogue Legacy and Spelunky, which are equally as good.
Spelunky was too precise for my liking. I didn't feel like I was ever getting anywhere, probably because I wasn't very good at it. I'm really looking forward to Rogue Legacy though.

Glad to hear it's clicked with you. Definitely my GOTY last year. And you've only scratched the surface, there's SO much more to find. As you continue to beat the end boss, the dungeon will get more floors, etc.

No wonder I couldn't figure out the tarot cards and pills. I would have never guessed it was assigned to the touch screen. It was really starting to irk me every time I picked up a pill combo and not know what the hell to do with them. Thanks!

Question regarding Binding of Isaac. After beating enemies in certain rooms, an item drop will appear inside an area walled off on all sides by what looks like four rectangular brown barriers. I've tried to bomb the barriers in an effort to gain entry inside and obtain the item but it doesn't appear to be a bomb-able surface. Is there a way to get inside these areas or do I need a special item/power up?

Decided to go RE crazy for my PS3. Grabbed RE 2 & 3 from the sale and grabbed 5 Gold & 6 on Amazon and will grab the 4/CVX combo from the sale after I grab a PSN card. So that'll just leave 1 for the main series which I can wait on and either get directors cut or the upgraded port. I would have bought 5 Gold & 6 through this sale but I really wanted to have it on disc to save harddrive space though I am planning to upgrade my Super Slim PS3 to 1TB sometime this year.

Any reason to believe that capcom will not release a complete collection of RE games on :ps4:?
I think they have a lot of porting to do before that can happen.

Really there's plenty of reason to think it won't happen anytime soon. Sony doesn't want PS3 support on PS4 and they've stagnated supporting PS1&PS2 probably to sell more PS Now subscriptions. So it's fully up to Capcom to port them all and it could take years for them to come out.

Really the best bet is the PS3 if you want to play the full series.

nope, not what I said. storeFRONT. As in being stacked with the other in-you-face "DOWNLOAD ME NOW IM FREE" PS Plus section of PSN. It's not there (at least it wasn't there the day of my OP)
Sony's just trying to make a point of every system having 2 free games. Some happen to be cross-buy but they're not putting them in that list because than it looks like ps4 got 3 games this month to people who don't keep up on all this stuff like we do. It's for structure. There are many ways to find and download the game regardless. If there's someone who only has a ps4 and only looks in the free games section, maybe they should do 2 seconds of research a month or miss out on something.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2015/02/06/super-stardust-ultra-launching-on-ps4-february-10th/

Super Stardust Ultra is out next week for $12.99, $10.39 for PS+ members:

Hello again, everyone. Following up on my post announcing that Super Stardust Ultra was coming to PS4 (which you can read here), it gives me great pleasure to let you all know that it will be available to download next week on February 10th. I can also confirm that Super Stardust Ultra supports 3D at full 60 frames per second! We think this is something that you’ll want to show to friends and family, it really does add an extra dimension to an already unique and great looking game.

Super Stardust Ultra is packed with incredible depth and variety, from five newly designed planets and other visual enhancements, to nine different single-player game modes. Some of which are brand new, only on PS4.

One of these modes is Blockade. As if blasting through hazardous meteor storms or fighting off enemy spacecraft wasn’t difficult enough, you now have to avoid an endless trail of deadly mines that are continually dropped from the back of your Star fighter. The twist however is that everything else on the planet is also destroyed if it makes contact with the mines, so they can be used to your advantage and timing your bombs or boost is critical to staying alive.

If you think you have the skills, then check out Interactive Streaming which not only allows you to broadcast your gameplay but also opens up your world, allowing your viewers to decide what happens next. The vote can range from a full onslaught of chaos, to a much needed helpful care package….you have been warned.

There’s always plenty to achieve in Super Stardust Ultra, whether you are hunting Trophies in pursuit of the Platinum, or blasting your way to the top of the global leader boards. Competing against friends has never been easier, whether sending direct challenges or playing 2-4 player local split-screen battles — even teaming up in co-op mode.

All this will be available on PlayStation Store for $12.99; PS Plus subscribers will receive an additional 20% discount for a period of 1 week after launch, so make sure to pick up Super Stardust Ultra next week!

this is exactly why I assumed that in order to get RL on PS4, you needed to have a Vita. That wouldve even made sense and would push hardware sales if the rule was that way.

I'm assuming cross-buy; free for Vita-owners?

Edit: apparently not. Up yours, Sony. Those changes aren't enough for anyone to re-buy it.
There's no 'Super Stardust Ultra' on the Vita. If there was, I'd buy it on the Vita. Super Stardust Delta isn't the same game. You wouldn't be re-buying anything.

hah seems like that's their marketing pitch. a couple more levels and a title change. your argument only holds up on a technical level. pretty sure that's how our politics work.

You used to be able to, so I'm assuming you should still be able to now as well. However, that was a while back, so I don't know if they changed anything since then.

The Ps4 which your friend will be playing on with their PSN ID will need to be set up as your primary console

So you just assumed it wasn't free on PS4 and didn't do a simple search to be sure before going through all of the Vita stuff and complaining here about me being misleading about the whole thing?

I read an article on this and yeah I think that's true unless the other person is a PS+ member. It's not clear but I think then it may work online on a non-primary ps4. But if the other person isn't PS+ then yeah that console definitely would have to be set as the primary one.

Here's the faq from sony:

Letting us get the licenses for all the PS+ games even if we don't have the platform it is for can also push hardware sales. Part of the reason I bought a Playstation TV and a PS3 is the PS+ games I had been collecting for them with the PS+ subscription I have for my PS4.

Withholding Rogue Legacy for PS4 unless you have a Vita could push Vita sales, but making as many games possible available for each platform makes each platform an enticing additional buy.

I hardly think PS4 needs any help. It's the VIta that needs the help. Regardless, I wasn't arguing that it should be that way. I'm merely saying that if it did indeed happen, I could totally see why it would

OK, now I think you just want to fight me on something. Read this very carefully.

Digging through the conveluted PS4 PS Store was an option, sure, but my Vita was literally right next to me.

"before going through all that Vita stuff." ??????????????? As I said multiple times, RL on the VIta's store was right in your face as soon as you load it up. I didnt "go through" anything. Do you even know what you're arguing over anymore?

Fact:

- I didnt see RL was listed as free on PS4 in the freakin' PS Plus Free Games Section! (re-read that twice for good measure)

- I saw it RIGHT AWAY on Vita; a key point you seem to sorely lack.

Kind of an obvious implication that they werent pushing the ps4 version. You can continue to "argue" with me on this despite there being no argument to be had. I was initially confused for legit reasons. That's a fact. You can't argue that away.

Fight? No, I just get defensive when somebody calls me out over their own mistaken assumptions and say I'm misleading people in the OP when I'm clearly not. "Digging through the conveluted PS4 PS Store" would not have been needed, as others around here have been saying a quick search would've yielded the results you were looking for among other options. Either way, I'm done with this anyway.

I...didn't call you out on anything. But now I understand the agressiveness towards my OP -- you're insecure over the posts you make here.

And enough of this "a quick search would have fixed it" because you clearly missed the part where I say that getting it on Vita took me less time than searching online. Literally the amount of time it takes to load the Vita store. So no, it wouldnt have saved any time. So done with this waste of a conversation lol.

You have to understand that what you're addressing has nothing to do with me being right or wrong in my OP (I was obviously mistaken), but it has to do with why I was mistaken. And that's just ridiculous. Spend that energy arguing over something far more fruitful and meaningful.
