:ps4: Foul Play - $2.00 to $100.00 [customspoiler='Fine Print'] :ps4: Foul Play is a part of the PlayStation Heroes program, which means that you can pay your choice among a variety of price points for an item that is usually a theme for entries into a contest to win some prize with most of the money going to a charity. There are no details at the moment for what the prize for buying Foul Play offers, so I'll post that whenever it's announced.

Edit: From the PlayStation Heroes app on PS4, the Foul Play promotion is for a trip to PlayStation Experience in December. Once you purchase the game, you're supposed to go here to register for the actual contest, though you should wait until the page is updated for the PlayStation Experience promotion instead of whatever it's on at the moment.[/customspoiler]

All six January Plus titles are up.  I just purchased them all.  No charge, so we're good.  But as always, just make sure that there are no charges to them before you hit that purchase button during checkout, and you will be fine.

Went ahead and grabbed the Resident Evil Remake pre-ordered, can't wait for the 20th. I played the game back on the PS1 with my brother, scaring the shit out of each other, can't recall if we ever beat it. Never got a chance to play the GC remake so $20 for this? Easy decision.

It probably won't happen but I'd so buy remakes of 2 through 4 as well.

EDIT: I really want Geometry Wars 3. I used to compete for high scores on the second one on my 360. I just can't see myself paying $15 for it when I have Resogun... so I hope a sale happens for it but probably won't for awhile since it recently came out. Unless one of you want to talk me into it, lol.
Resogun was ok for me. It was fun. But as a longtime fan of GeoWars, 3 is about perfect. It's sooo good.

What's the shortest psplus subscription you can get? 3 months? Is there a 1 month option? Just curious 'cause if some games I want to get go on sale this year, it might be cheaper to buy a 3month sub to get the psplus sale price, than just buying at the regular sale price.

Also, do you need an internet connection to play psplus games? It has to check if you're still subscribed right?

You don't need an internet connection. I play PSPlus Vita games on the road all the time

You can get one month subs. And I could be wrong but you can play offline if you are plus member it just has an expiration date so if you are past the date it needs to check online and make sure you have plus still. But I'm sure frisky could answer better

Edit to add if you are buying sale priced games it doesn't matter once you buy a game it's yours so you're fine.

When you "purchase" the games a license is attached to it that expires the same date your PS+ expires. If you were to renew PS+ it still expires at the time you downloaded the game, you just have to restart the download to activate it with your new PS+ date and then stop.

I see. Thanks for the answers. 1month sub is $10. So if the difference between the sale price and the plus sale price is close to $10, I'll have to remember to sub to get the better price.

Oh? I see a 14day trial too. Would that give me the plus sale price too? Better save it for when I really need it.

The fucking Swapper. Can't wait
I paid 5 bucks knowing that it was going free because I had been impressed with it for some time. The trophies are cryptic so I'm not sure how far I am into the game. While it feels kinda padded and contrived it really has a great style and appealing mechanics compared to the glutton of puzzle platformers that are on the Vita.

I caved and bought BF4 Premium.  Did anyone else bite?  I don't play many FPS games, but I have always wanted to try Battlefield.

The trophies are hidden info stations throughout the overworld denoted by ! on the map.

I did. I loved BF3. No matter which FPS game I tried, I always find myself going back to it. After hearing that they fixed BF4, I bought the Premium since the Second Assualt DLC (which has 4 of the people's favorite BF3 maps) included.

We've got Pinball Arcade deals this week. Half off of S1 and S2 stuff for PS3 and S1 for PS4.
Seriously hope there's other deals coming. Of course, this is probably when we'll get our whopping 10% discount so we can't stack it with decent sales.

Yeah, considering we haven't had new deals for two weeks, I hope something else crops up.

*Preparing for overreaction to a bunch of Avatars being on sale*
If we got an avatar sale following up a sale where Sony couldn't even be bothered to remove expired stuff from the sale area (which was about the first two pages on the webstore) it would be like a barrel of monkeys in here with all the shit that would be flying.

Not likely, and it'll be rare, if ever. It's an NISAmerica game, not an Atlus game.
Everything goes on sale digitally, doesn't matter who makes it. The original was $20 or cheaper recently I think.

Physical version is already scarce, but if you want it cheap then digital's the way to go.

Danganronpa had a sale one time since it was released, for 50% off -- which is "rare" and not more than 50%. So I fail to see where I'm wrong.

Edit:

How many times have these NIS games been on sale on PSN?

Neptunia mk2 (0?)

Way of the Samurai 4 (0?)

Mugen Souls (0?)

Mugen Souls Z (0?)

Neptunia Victory (1?)

Time and Eternity (1?)

Dragon Crown (a lot)

Danganronpa (1?)

Ys: Memory of Celceta (0?)

Demon Gaze (0?)

Neptunia PP (0?)

Danganronpa 2 (1?)

Fairy Fencer F (0?)

Natural Doctrine (0?)

Akiba'S Trip (1?)

Tears to Tiara 2 (0?)

And Danganronpa 2 is still available on Amazon for like $6 more than the PSN sale price ($2 if you don't have Plus).

No new sales last week and now this... I miss old times.

They've posted the weekly deals on the PlayStation Blog and it looks like Pinball is it for this week.
Wow. That's horrible. I just got a PS4 (I've owned PS2 and PS3) and also have an Xbox One. I used to think Microsoft had some pretty crappy sales, but now, they look like gold compared to stuff like this.

And I wouldn't be surprised to see that 10 percent coupon coming our way this week.....

A bunch of those games were on sale over the holidays or have a new reduced price as MSRP (Nep PP, Ys, Doctrine, etc). Happens with most niche titles, but only lasts for a few months to a year after release. They'll reduce in price, or have good used deals for physical, and then digital's the only way to go because they never reprinted the games. Goodbye Despair's LE was still available up to a few weeks ago, too. Will the digital go up for sale again? Maybe, but the first one was discounted to half price to promote the second game, so who knows when it'll be back up.

Neptunia PP and Ys Celceta's physical also dropped to $29.99, so it's not cheaper. Nor are they out of print.

Natural Doctrine hasn't had a price drop or a sale.

Looking forward to playing Woah Dave on my Vita since I already have it on 3DS, and it's a lot of fun.  And I actually appreciate the sale on Pinball Arcade Season 2 since I've been wanting to add those tables to my PS3 and Vita.  So, I can't say it's the best sale but it could be worse.  It would be nice to know when the 10% off coupon is going out, but as it stands, if I buy Season 2, I will only save $1.49.  I suppose I can wait a few more days before I bite.

Pffft I'd rather have the Pinball sales than what Xbox got.
Dude, I am not a fanboy by any means, but honestly, MS has some crappy sales, but this one takes the cake as the worst I've seen. I've been patiently waiting for the holiday sale to end so I might pick up some other PS4 games I was interested in. And recovering from Christmas expenses, was hoping for something decent on sale. Not this.

Probably want people to save up and subscribe to PlayStation Now. I've played most of the PS3 games I want so that's a no go for me as well.

Here's the full Playstation Now list.  As you can see, there are 2 separate lists (one is for the subscription and another for the individual rentals).  I'm very disappointed with Sony for offering different games depending on which service you use.  All games should be available with a subscription.

Well you have to understand that each game on the PS Now service is up to the publisher's discretion if that specific title should be part of the subscription service or not.

Just what I was afraid of. Things like Infamous are on the subscription but Infamous 2 is rental only. Square Enix games seem to be completely absent from the subscription while a few Final Fantasy games and Deus Ex are on the rental only list.

Not saying their aren't good games on the subscription list. But you can tell that they were cutting costs but not having later versions of some games, some publishers probably wanted too much money for streaming rights, etc.

I've played most of the great Playstation 3 games anyway so it's not worth it for me. Just sad that someone will play something like Infamous and think "I want to play the second one now" only to find they have to pay additional to rent it.

All they did was write down the games on the banner image here and are assuming that those are only available on the subscription model. They don't show any proof of their claims.

Don't know about proof, but there's WAY more games listed on the subscription than there are on that banner so don't think that's the source.

Also, even Sony reps responding to questions on their blog freely admitted they would have 100+ and not he 250+ games on the current rental service.

Stop drinking the lemonade

For SOME people who never owned a PS3, it still may be worth it. Just don't say it's something that it's not.
