:ps4: Foul Play - $2.00 to $100.00 [customspoiler='Fine Print'] :ps4: Foul Play is a part of the PlayStation Heroes program, which means that you can pay your choice among a variety of price points for an item that is usually a theme for entries into a contest to win some prize with most of the money going to a charity. There are no details at the moment for what the prize for buying Foul Play offers, so I'll post that whenever it's announced.

Edit: From the PlayStation Heroes app on PS4, the Foul Play promotion is for a trip to PlayStation Experience in December. Once you purchase the game, you're supposed to go here to register for the actual contest, though you should wait until the page is updated for the PlayStation Experience promotion instead of whatever it's on at the moment.[/customspoiler]

Super Stardust Ultra is out next week for $12.99, $10.39 for PS+ members:
Awesome. Can't wait, if I have the funds it'll be day 1.

Except there must be some sort of mistake, people on the internet told me there would never be a ps+ discount again because Sony hates them.

I'm assuming cross-buy; free for Vita-owners?

Edit: apparently not. Up yours, Sony. Those changes aren't enough for anyone to re-buy it.
Yeah, up yours, Sony, for making an awesome new game for me to play on my PS4, which has little to do with the vita version, tons of brand new content, ps4 quality graphics, and then, you fucking bastards, actually thinking you can charge me for it.

Assholes. [Take my money, please and thank you]

You are criticizing me for being let down, but you're guilty of the exact same thing; arguing my preferences and standards. fuckin sue me. They added stuff to Resogun on Vita but made it free of charge for previous owners (it still costs money to port down, remember) so there is precedent to this. Stop making it seem like I'm crazy and that this has never happened before. A few more levels in SSD and a title change hardly makes a difference. I'm just asking for consistency. As longterm customer, I'm entitled to that

I don't find that spending $10 on what essentially amounts to a limited expansion pack to the original worth it. Sorry if that offends your lord and savior Sony. Gotta love people who need their purchases to be justified, and lash out at all those who think otherwise. Grow up.

I hardly think PS4 needs any help. It's the VIta that needs the help. Regardless, I wasn't arguing that it should be that way. I'm merely saying that if it did indeed happen, I could totally see why it would
I wasn't saying the PS4 needs help. I bought my PS3 and Playstation TV after I got PS+ for my PS4, so the PS3 and the Playstation TV were the ones that got help. I can also see why the other way makes some sense, but considering the way Sony does it got me to buy a PS3 and a Playstation TV I think the way they do it makes even more sense.

It's unlikely people will buy a Vita to make a cross-buy PS+ game work on their PS4. But after just one year the 24 PS+ Vita game library they built might get them to buy a Vita.

Ah, rampant arguing in the PSN Weekly thread...good memories.

Back to positive thoughts.  I assumed that Rogue Legacy would not be a game I would like since several people compared it to Spelunky (which I despise).

Rogue Legacy is incredible.  I would have gladly paid for it if I knew then how addictive it is.  Today in my free time all alone, I could have played GTA5 or First Light or TLOU without my kids looking over my shoulder.  No, I played RL again and again and again.  Once again PS+ comes through.

Maybe you should give the recommendations a little more credence next time. ;)

Rogue Legacy: What should I focus on upgrading? I feel like I'm wasting gold on buying the most expensive thing just to see how big the tree gets..

Buy the classes and their upgrades first before going for the stat upgrades, as everything gets more expensive as you buy things.

I say focus on upgrading sword strength.  Best defense is a good offense in that game.  Being able to kill enemies in as few hits as possible means less projectiles to have to avoid.

Your paying for a service. Your entitled to access everything that the service provides but are subject to the terms of agreement set forth by Sony. You can be disappointed in the way a game is priced but anyone has the right to disagree with you. If you don't like the price, don't buy it. But, if you think your entitled to something more from Sony over this your delusional.

Oh give me a fucking break. You didn't calmly, rationally, ask if it was cross buy. You posted "Up yours, Sony. Those changes aren't enough for anyone to re-buy it." If you don't want push back, don't act like a 5th grader having a temper tantrum, and don't try to speak for the rest of the world. Calm, rational posts like "I don't think the upgrade and expansions are worth it to me, I'll pass" wouldn't get pushback, but you know that.

And you are not 'entitled' to consistency. If you want consistency, the ONLY answer would be 'no crossbuy, ever', because not every situation is the same and that would be the only way to secure 'consistency'. So, instead, we get cross buy when we get it [which is more often than not, even times when we don't expect it]. That's better than the alternative. Once again, level headedness goes far in understanding that crossbuy is a cool initiative, and awesome when it happens, but we're sure as hell not 'entitled' to it just because some other game had it.

And stop fighting console wars. You're the one lashing outfirst at Frisky and now at me. But hey, whatever, right?

I shouldn't have to pay for Mario anymore. I mean, they just change the levels a little, add a new powerup or two, change the title. Basically the same game.

Is there a spot where you guys leave your Psn names for adds? The reason I ask is I'm on mobile and need some battlefield beta support.

yeah, new Mario games should just show up in other games now.

the mario thing would of been cooler if those were actual working blocks you jump under/on top of with stuff in them and enemies died when you jumped on them.

https://theorder.playstation.com/

You can get a code for a free PS4 theme featuring The Order: 1886 for completing the "investigative online experience" it offers. The theme/code isn't redeemable until 2/17, for those that might be wondering.
I posted this on here almost a week ago lol no search? lol its cool but shocked you of all people didnt check first oh well

I dont know if its just me but it reminds me of a 2D dark souls
Are you sure you aren't thinking of Rogue Legacy? I can only imagine you are comparing difficulty. Apotheon is not that difficult from what I've played so far. Rogue Legacy is brutal, but that's part of it's appeal. Certainly more arcadey but out of the two games, it's the one closer to Dark Souls IMO.

Demos and Betas
Hyper Void — PS3 Trial

I played a bit of Apotheon and I see the Dark Souls influence. It doesn't have the stamina or heavy reliance upon positional combat, but there are elements to it that resemble the Souls games. I'm not a big fan of the disposable nature of the weapons and that you can't carry infinite amounts of the crafting items.

If you want 2D Dark Souls, Salt and Sanctuary from Ska Studios (Charlie Murder and the Dishwasher series) is that game:

http://www.giantbomb.com/videos/extra-life-2014-day-2-part-03/2300-9623/

Skip to 13 minutes in to see Jason play it during their Extra Life stream last fall.

Whoa.  For anyone that likes arcade games / bullet hell... check out Minutes on youtube.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2zod2jCLqs

it's... a really cool take on the genre I've never seen before.  You appear to be a resizeable, moveable circle.  You need to collect 'yellow' lines and avoid black lines as they move around the screen.   I may be wrong, but it looks like getting black lines makes your 'min' size increase, thus eventually killing you if you grow too big to avoid stuff. Tutorial levels look interesting, but it appears to get pretty sick in later levels.   Really hard to explain, just watch the vid linked above and skip around to different levels.

Think I'm going to have to pick that up if the price is right.

New Vita owner here, just got one Friday. I want to buy the PSP Grand Theft Auto's. After I do can I not download them right away? I only have an 8gb card atm with 6gb free and all 3 games would take up 3.5gb of that.

Also I haven't really looked into it but is it worth it to get Playstation Plus now that I have a Vita? I have a PS3 with lots of games but never really had the need for it.

If you have two or more PSN systems I think PS+ is absolutely worth it. I'm only coming up on two years but have a massive, quality library of games because of it. If you plan on buying a PS4 down the road you can also start banking games for that and building your library. You do get other perks too like online multiplayer on PS4 and more cloud storage for saves. I would say look back at the past year of games and see the kind of stuff that's been offered .

Once you buy the games from the store....I'd recommend the web PSN store and not the Vita PSN store they will be in your download list. You then sign into the Vita PSN store from your Vita and go to the download list and they're there and you just tap on them with the screen I believe and they will download. Also the best indie games come on playstation plus. Get it.....seriously there is Rogue Legacy and I know I got Isaac Rebirth before so very well worth it.

Which reminds me. Almost every month there's at least one game on PS+ that is free the day it launches and is often something higher profile like Rogue Legacy or Binding of Isaac. Because of cross buy each system has often been getting more than the two games as well.

Congrats! I'm not sure I understand the question. You have 6gb free, and the games you want to download are only 3.5gb.... so... yes, you should be able to download them right away.

Re: PS+ is absolutely worth it, especially if you have, or plan to get, a ps4. At least 2 games a month, often more due to cross buy. You can unlock games for the systems you don't own (yet) on the webstore. Depending on what you pay for a year, we're talking $4 or so per month... it doesn't take many good games per year to make it worth it, plus there are usually additional sale discounts for ps+ members.

^ This.

PS+ is worth every cent. A post somewhere (on CAG I think, i'd have to search for it) shown that Sony gave PS+ users something like $1000 in games last year... Even if you don't play every one of them, it's more than worth the $50 retail price per year.

And also 2nd the purchase everything on the PSN webstore.

You can add every PS+ free title to your cart and purchase them in one shot, then go to each device and download them. Or go to the download list on the webstore and manage the downloads there.

And absolutely get all games they give out each month.. even if you don't think you'll play them, or have that system (like a PS4 or Vita) The day you do buy that system, you will have a nice library to start with.

I've screwed up twice.. Didn't get Spelunky cause of my own mistake. And realized I didn't get The binding of Isaac Rebirth, I looked at a screenshot and it didn't impress me... now I regret not getting it anyway.

I didn't think Apotheon would be anything but boring this month.. It actually IS fun.

And Rogue Legacy is just pure genius.
