:ps4: Foul Play - $2.00 to $100.00 [customspoiler='Fine Print'] :ps4: Foul Play is a part of the PlayStation Heroes program, which means that you can pay your choice among a variety of price points for an item that is usually a theme for entries into a contest to win some prize with most of the money going to a charity. There are no details at the moment for what the prize for buying Foul Play offers, so I'll post that whenever it's announced.

Edit: From the PlayStation Heroes app on PS4, the Foul Play promotion is for a trip to PlayStation Experience in December. Once you purchase the game, you're supposed to go here to register for the actual contest, though you should wait until the page is updated for the PlayStation Experience promotion instead of whatever it's on at the moment.[/customspoiler]

Anybody think there'll be a better deal later on for the Watchdogs pass? I don't have enough for it in my account right now, but should get the $15 back before the sale is over.
i don't think dlc generally goes on sale as much/often as the full games do. i mean, sure, it happens (especially for games with iOS style 'in game cash') but overall it seems like they keep most DLC full price to rake in extra money on used / sale purchases where they don't get any/as much money upfront. So I'd say you're safe going for it? You never know, of course, but you might as well get it if you're going to play it now... if it goes on sale in a year will you still even care?

I decided to wait myself because I have other expenses atm and I could afford the game but might as well wait since it's sure to be on sale again in 6 months or so.
Looks like you can get the physical copy of the game from Namco again for $25 with prime shipping.

Dragon Quest Heroes, the weird DQ musou action-RPG thing, is out on PS4 in NA later this year.

The Atelier games, are they digital download only? Do they have separate trophy lists from their PS3 conterparts? I'm wondering if I should just snag those three as well. I haven't played any of them but I was thinking they might be really good filler too, but there's no need to jump on them right away if I can get the same trophies out of the PS3 discs.
ps3 is physical and 15$ at gs.

ps3 is physical and 15$ at gs.
PSV versions are all enhanced versions of the PS3 releases and digital only so they have their own lists. The exception is Rorona which also got an enhanced version at the same time for PS3.

Search Atelier here to see all trophy lists.

This Vita sale was RAD!

Earth Defense Force® 2017 Portable $12.00
As a B movie fan, EDF is a no brainer.
Deception IV: Blood Ties $15.99
I loved Deception 1 and 2 on the PSX, so I'm really interested in IV.
Atelier Meruru Plus: The Apprentice of Arland $15.99
Atelier Rorona Plus: The Alchemist of Arland $15.99
Atelier Totori Plus: The Adventurer of Arland $15.99
The Atelier games have always piqued my interest, but I just didn't think I could commit the time to it on a console. I'm very excited to start playing them. And thanks for whomever posted the comparison video earlier in the thread. I'm not sure which game to play first either and while I haven't watched the vid, it seems useful.
Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles $7.49
Rondo of Blood is THE BUSINESS.
Sword Art Online -Hollow Fragment $15.99
I'm getting back into anime for the first time since 2004, and I've heard a lot of chatter about SAO. Enough CAGs seem interested in the game, so for $16 I'll check it out.
Monster Monpiece $11.99
I have nearly no idea what this is, but what the hell. It's a card game and I generally love card games (Shout outs to Culdcept and Neverland Card Battles).
i thought the type was way too small on the vita for the Atelier games. The only reason why im not buying the other 2

Well, finally bought Tales of Hearts R. About the Atelier series, should I take a leap of fate and buy all three? Someone made the commend that one of them had dated graphics (not really into that).

So, grab all three or just get one? I usually get bored fast, does the game manages to keep things interesting?

I hope SAO will go $10 before the year ends. I got enough games to keep me busy but I really want to play this.

why not buy 1 try it for a few days and then if you like it buy the other 2. Theres no discount in buying all at once

For the $100 promo, I converted Mordor and DA Inquisition to digital and got The Order pre-order. Happy with all those, for sure. Really hope for good PS4 sales next week though.

When is the next huge PS4 sale? Is that the one people mentioned coming in May?

The graphics on all of them are pretty much the same. Maybe you're thinking of Rorona regular?

I had pretty low expectations going into the game, but now that I started it, its actually kinda cool. Buy it.

Probably. Plus on the top, original on the bottom:

Atelier-Rorona-Plus-The-Alchemist-Of-Arland-108579.jpg

All the Plus versions look like the top.

But that game is always free!
The Himiko Spirit character isn't though.

Anyway, I downloaded it but then found out it won't work on PSTV when I tried to run it.

On the plus side, it taught me a lesson to be more careful about checking for that in the future without having to had waste money.

Yeah, I was browsing the store on the Vita TV tonight and realized it doesn't stop you if it's not compatible. Really should at least give you a notification when you go to buy or download it.

That would require them to maintain an accurate list though. Can't get Rorona+ on the Playstation TV, for example, without going to your Download List.

I've been trying to download Destiny of Spirits for like an hour and a half to no avail, only like half way done still. :wall:

I see Far Cry 3 for $10 on PS3, and the DLC pack for $10 = $20 for a digital Far Cry 3 Complete Collection...worth it?
A month ago the Ultimate Edition was on sale for $12.49 (50% off). Not sure if that affects your decision, I have no idea if it'll go on sale again, but the fact that there is an ultimate edition would make me less likely to buy it piecemeal.

How necessary is the Monopoly Plus to the enjoyment of the new Monopoly game? Every time the game goes on sale digitally it's just the core game and Plus (which costs $10 a la carte) is missing so I guess you can't make your own boards of play the custom boards.

The way the pricing is structured it's almost like the old "online pass" days. If Plus is needed to fully enjoy the game, I guess I'll just wait for a BB sale on the disc.

Thanks in advance.

So whats the verdict on Watch Dogs?

Thinking about it, AWD has it for $19..

I want to say I've seen the disc go for $19.99 new
I'd say buy it since there's a lot of cool going on, even if it has a lot to fix for the confirmed sequel. Fell short of its potential, there's some intriguing atmosphere, protagonist with a cool voice and loathsome douche personality, overall not a ton of life in it to come back to. I don't regret buying it for about $40, but it's kind of a one long time deal, so $20 is pretty worth it if you are in the mood to try it.

It's a shame that there's no list of games that work on PS TV.
Like this? https://support.us.playstation.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5376/~/games-compatible-with-playstation-tv

Anyone else feel this vita bday sale is extremely lackluster?
I disagree. I would say there's a pretty decent cross section of indies and games by major publishers. But a lot of the big name games that aren't included in the sale now have been on sale recently. For instance, I remember Persona 4 Golden was $12 a month or so ago. And someone mentioned Killzone Mercenary but, as someone who owns KZM, I can say it's not much to write home about. I would say that the Atelier games are probably the biggest draw of this sale, and I'm not particularly interested in those, but there are people who have been waiting for those games to see any sort of discount for quite a long time. I picked up Jet Grind Radio and Oddworld because those were games that I enjoyed during previous generations. And I bought Orgarhythm because I had heard good things since some of the makers of Space Channel 5 were involved. I'm just curious - do you think that there were any Vita games that should have been included this time?

"Monopoly Plus" is the regular monopoly game. That's the one on sale for $10.99 IIRC. The bundle includes "Monopoly Deal" which is a separate game, and "My Monopoly" which is a board creator. If you don't care about creating boards I'd just go with Monopoly Plus and then you can always get Monopoly Deal down the line (which is $5) separately if you want the remaining trophies.

I agree with you there. I've seen people on other sites complain about Danganronpa and the Persona games playable on the PSP/Vita not being in this sale, but they were on sale last week, as well as Virtue's Last Reward and a few other good things. I've also seen Persona 4 Golden on sale a couple of times, and I've only began paying attention to Vita deals recently. (one can still probably find the physical copy for around $13-$15 too). Sure the Vita-only game deals haven't been as large, but between a few Vita-only games, PSP/Vita games and Crossbuy deals, there's been some pretty good sales this year for the PS Vita.

From this sale, I'm only considering SAO: Hollow Fragment because it's a pretty decent price for that game, but my backlog keeps telling me no.
ps: my Vita is fairly new and I already have a backlog, wtf is up with that?

My backlog told me the same thing when I picked up SAO and it was correct because I haven't had much time to pick it up, but those JRPGs like SAO rarely go on sale so I picked it up last time. I've played a little bit though and really liked what I had played if you are a fan of the series you will like the game. It plays a lot like the .Hack games, it's an action-RPG that plays like an MMO. I picked up Tales of Hearts R yesterday and have yet to play it, but for $20 I couldn't pass it up. These sales are my weakness, I can't resist the temptations of a good price for a game.

Anyone else feel this vita bday sale is extremely lackluster?
I disagree. The titles in this sale are pretty good considering what is normally on sale. Personally have many of these titles already in some format. The psp was a powerhouse for RPG's and that is one main reason I bought the vita, in hopes of more RPG's. Glad they had a sale like this, but nothing for me this week. Wallet is happy this week. Had you said PS4 sale is lackluster this week....

Yeah, I'm still on the fence with SAO, since it's probably not going to be on sale anytime soon, but it's not like I'll have the time to play it.
Also Tales of Hearts R... I got a physical copy a couple of months ago and haven't gotten around to playing it.
Going to need a bigger Vita memory card soon. Still beating myself up for missing a reasonably priced 16gb on AWD. :wall:

This is what I get for checking the site out after a long absence. First I nab the Vita TV bundle, then a ton of PSN cash (Forgot I had left over BB points, and the eBay $50 for $40 specials). I'll have about $50 left after I get my $15 credit, and walked away with a hell of a haul...

Muramasa w/DLC

Virtues Last Reward

Guilty Gear somethingsomething Plus

Ragnarok Oddyssey Ace

Monster Monpiece

Mind Zero

Tales of Hearts R

Sword Art Online

Atelier Meruru Plus

Atelier Rorona Plus

Atelier Totori Plus

1 Month of PS+ to get the bigger discounts.

I think I'm set for a long time!

How does everyone feel about Tales of Hearts translation? It's minor, but the fact that the Japanese audio sometimes doesn't line up with the english text makes me think about turning the voices off. I know very little Japanese, but when someone is called a "Hentai", it's pervert, not rapscallion.

I'm more annoyed when I hear "Shing" during dialogue containing Kor's name (mainly at Bandai-Namco for changing his name so drastically--wouldn't "Shin", "Shingu", or some other variation have worked just as well, especially when they kept Hisui's and Kohaku's names?), but otherwise, I think the translation is the funniest for a Tales game in quite some time and I enjoy the Japanese voices overall.
