:ps4: Foul Play - $2.00 to $100.00 [customspoiler='Fine Print'] :ps4: Foul Play is a part of the PlayStation Heroes program, which means that you can pay your choice among a variety of price points for an item that is usually a theme for entries into a contest to win some prize with most of the money going to a charity. There are no details at the moment for what the prize for buying Foul Play offers, so I'll post that whenever it's announced.

Edit: From the PlayStation Heroes app on PS4, the Foul Play promotion is for a trip to PlayStation Experience in December. Once you purchase the game, you're supposed to go here to register for the actual contest, though you should wait until the page is updated for the PlayStation Experience promotion instead of whatever it's on at the moment.[/customspoiler]

Hmm... Saints Row III Full is $16-20 on Amazon. Might not feel like downloading this game, even if it costs about $8. Stupid crappy American internet.

Only grabbed the free Powers season pass (HD&SD) and whatever Mighty Flip Champs is.

Free is free.

i bought SR4 on disc when it launched, unless you never played it imo its not worth it.  The visuals are pretty awful, the textures and animations look like crap for a PS4 game.  Don't get me wrong, its a fun game and I replayed it entirely but only cuz I never finished the PC version.  So if you never played it get it, but if you finished PC/PS3 don't bother.

Also the disc PS4 version includes a digital code for Gat out of Hell, which is a completely seperate game.  You can buy the disc, install, play SR4, trade it in, and still play Gat out of Hell.

Announcing a free game and revealing a week later that it's free only for premium subscribers rather seems like a suboptimal way to earn goodwill.

Agreed. And unlike the PS4 where Plus is required for online, there are probably many, many less subscribers to Plus on the three systems this is good for (PSP/Vita/PS3).

For anyone who has watched "Powers", is it a super-hero show like the tragedy of a super-hero show that was "Heroes", the decent show that was "Alphas", or less multi-hero like "Flash" or something similar to that.

I think you mean tragedy that "Heroes" became or decent show it was in the first season.

Didn't realize that Eddie Izzard is in Powers. Seeing him on a TV show reminds me of Hannibal which reminds me season 3 is 3 months away! (Criminally under-watched show that needs waaaay more support from viewers)

As soon as Sony announced the 8 week sale with Saints Row being 2nd week.. I instantly traded my disc in to BestBuy since they had a 30% bonus going on. $22.10, obviously kept Gat out of Hell.

So today it drops to $22.49. I was hoping for a $19.99 drop though. $.39 for the digital conversion isn't that bad, I always planned on keeping SR4 on PS4 anyway. If the Gat out of Hell was a disc.. I wouldn't have traded it in though.

SR is a fun franchise, it's not the best game out there.. or a game for everyone.. but it's fun.

Now I need GTA V to drop below $40 and the CoD AW I got for Christmas to drop below $30 and i'll make money on the deal.

(If CoD doesn't drop below $30 i may just skip a re buy, will probably rarely ever play it)

I have not watched the show yet, but it's based on the comic by Brian Michael Bendis. Bendis is super famous now, though he reached his fame doing fairly dark, serious crime noir (I was heavily into comics right when he was starting out, so was lucky enough to read his early stuff when it came out).

Powers is sort of a police procedural with super heroes. It's been ages since I read it so it's hard to remember, but i do remember it being solid. I also believe it won an absolute shit ton of awards.

I'd say it has the potential to be an extremely solid show... but as with any adaptation it could also be a train wreck. But it's certainly got more potential than most given its heritage.

Heroes was fun at first, terrible by the end, but always felt like a total rip off of J. Michael Straczynski's Rising Stars which bothered me to no end.

Is anyone else having problems with items missing from their download list? I have successfully purchased Helldivers (earlier today) and Mighty Flip Champs DX (just now) and neither of them show up in my download list and I still get the "Add to Cart" button on the page for each game. When I try to add to cart, it tells me I am not eligible to purchase. The games do show up on the Purchase History page and I have received the normal email confirmations. I'm assuming this is just something that will work itself out by tomorrow.
This started happening a couple weeks ago or so. The simple fix is to log out of the webstore and log back in, from user reports that solves it 100% of the time.

Yes, but the fact that the publisher is doing this and no special subscription is required on other platforms that are doing the celebration is kind of BS.

Ugh, I thought Mighty Flip Champs was gonna be free for all, but it's just a lame PSPlus thing
Came here specifically to bitch about this. They made the announcement when? Like a week ago? And only yesterday did they bother to update that it was PS+ only.

Not that Nintendo was giving any freebies, but still, at least there wasn't a bait-and-switch. I think it's funny that the Apple promo is the most generous of the three though.

I'm hesitant to blame Wayforward, because I wouldn't be surprised if it was insisted by Sony that it be a PS+ exclusive. But whatever.

Why would they insist a Minis title of all things be free only for PS+ members and not any of the other freebies over the past few years that had no such strings attached? Mighty Flip Champs isn't going to move the needle at all for the vast majority of PS+ people, so I don't see how it wasn't Wayforward's decision like every other giveaway in the past.

It's easier to blame Sony for everything. Sort of like, 'fuck, my car got a flat. I'm hesitant to blame a nail in the road because fucking Sony and reasons.'

Well, what exactly does Wayforward get out of not making it free for everyone? Less people getting free copies? Sony has a better motive. Is it going to move the needle? Of course not, but maybe they're just idiots.

The last-minute nature of the PS+ requirement just makes me think Sony had something to do with it. That's all.

The amount of offerrings from Sony makes X1's offerrings look pathetic.

I used to be upset about games on psn constantly going on sale after just buying it. But they offer so many damn games that there's at least one or two that I end up loving. X1 gives you one chance.

What both need to do, especially X1, is offer multiple choices and let us choose which one to download. It would still limit to one game but would almost guarantee us something applicable to us. Because X1's offerrings are not justifying the $60/year gold.

I make my money back on PSN; not on XBL. But I still think we deserve options and not whatever these guys spoonfeed us.

Spring Fever Week 2... yet again I spend $0 and got free stuff. A free game and a full season of a new show. Not bad. I thought I'd be tempted to finally buy into the Saints Row series but eh, I'm gonna continue to pass for now.

I'm somewhat glad to see Uncharted 4 won't be for another year as I won't be tempted to buy it, but also kind of sad for the PS4 since I think they really need a blockbuster exclusive game for the fall.

I will eventually get Hotline Miami 2, but I still have to finish the first game completely. I think I have at least a few levels left.

I'm not an xbox gamer anymore. But I am still of the mindset that XBL is for playing online and everything else is a side benefit. Where as since online was free until this gen, PS+ is for the free games and discounts. Maybe if I played online I'd think differently about PSN. Then again I'm mainly playing PS3 so the online side is free anyway.

Glad UC4 is going to take some time to come out. I want to beat 1 and 2 again. I also still need to beat UC3, I only played it for like an hour.

I just started playing Uncharted 3 and although it is a great game, the melee in that game gets so repetitive. It's like the same exact sequence over and over again. Outside of that, as usual, Naughty Dog doesn't disappoint.

prob a repost but for those who missed it the bloodborne free themes for ps4 are live now

US Code: J4ND-DJNH-K3C7
EU Code: PBGA-HJNC-LQ99

just enter on the psn store on your ps4 and its a 7 meg download, white background with a dude in red chilling out.  don't think its a dynamic theme unfortunately

BRING IT ON! :boxing:

I think paying to partake in online gaming is a damn scam. Steam doesn't charge. Sony used to not charge until they figured out they could get away with it like XBL has forever. Are we to believe that playing Halo 2 online today costs MS more money than playing Halo 2 online when it was new? As if no tech efficient advances have been made over the last decade?

Also consider that Xbox's very own Major Nelson confirmed that while XBL is being brought to PC, they won't be charged for it. How does this make sense? It's all blowing up in their faces and they now look foolish. Both companies do. Sony used all of last gen to bash Microsoft for charging then turned around and did the same thing. No one batted an eye.

"But you get all these free games!"

To many people, that doesn't mean anything. People would rather keep $60 and just play CoD and Madden. So that justification holds no weight. OPTIONS win every time.

Maybe MS' next step is to not charge for online gaming on the xbox either? It actually may not be a bad idea for them considering PS4 is winning this round of the console war and PS Plus is clearly better than XBL. It could help MS swing things back into their favor.

It really would. I personally know a bunch of people hanging onto their ps3's because it's the only way that can play Call of Duty online without having to pay an extra cost. It's the #1 reason they dont jump into this gen. It seems like this gen is only good for core gamers and polarizes the casuals.

Years ago Microsoft did try to charge for multiplayer in Games For Windows Live. It wasn't successful, and they dropped the fee. Microsoft isn't going to charge PC gamers because they already know it won't work.

They and now Sony will continue to charge for mutliplayer on consoles because they know they can.

Opinion tho i think XBL is better but i prefer ps4 but hate there network. I prefer things to getter not settle for just ok or meh. I am a fan of games not consoles.

It sounds like your friends need to jump to the master race (PC) if they are that concerned with paying to play online. Not only that, but games on PC become cheaper faster and get bundled in these bundling websites (Humble, Bundlestars, etc). So if they are that frugal, then that is the way to go in the long run.

I am hoping an Uncharted Collection PS4 is announced at E3. I want to replay them all, but since they're all plat'd will wait for remasters and new trophies.

Not a chance in hell they make it free. Way, way, wayyyyyyyy too much money on the table.

And worse yet, it's easily counterable since Sony could just follow suit and nothing changes, except people will tend to stick with PS+ since so many are vested in the free game economy. But again, never, ever going to happen anyway so not really worth wasting energy thinking about.
