:ps4: Foul Play - $2.00 to $100.00 [customspoiler='Fine Print'] :ps4: Foul Play is a part of the PlayStation Heroes program, which means that you can pay your choice among a variety of price points for an item that is usually a theme for entries into a contest to win some prize with most of the money going to a charity. There are no details at the moment for what the prize for buying Foul Play offers, so I'll post that whenever it's announced.

Edit: From the PlayStation Heroes app on PS4, the Foul Play promotion is for a trip to PlayStation Experience in December. Once you purchase the game, you're supposed to go here to register for the actual contest, though you should wait until the page is updated for the PlayStation Experience promotion instead of whatever it's on at the moment.[/customspoiler]

Is Broken Age worth $18? I enjoy all Double Fine games or should I just wait for a better deal?
I doubt it is much different than the mobile versions, which are $9.99 and I was reading the IGN review which actually said the game played better with a touchscreen.

Guess it depends on preference. I'm sure a tablet would be best on mobile.

I assume that Star Wars Pinball tables (if I buyPS3) will work on Zen Pinball 2 or do I actually have to buy the ones that say Zen Pinball on them?

The Balance of the Force is only listed as Star Wars. Can anyone confirm this?

Excellent question. I would like to know the same.

Rune Factory : Tides
Mugen Souls Z
Suikoden 2
Sorcery Saga : Curry
Conception 2
Demon Gaze
Hyperdiemsion : PP
Hatsune Mike : Proj Diva f
Senran Kagura : SV
Akiba's Trip
Senran Kagura : BA

---------------------------
All in all about $120. Any yay or nay on the above games is appreciated since I cannot grab all of them due to being over my budget, which is probably in the $60-70 range.
Definitely get Demon Gaze.

Sorcery Saga is a great game if you don't mind a beginner (super easy) roguelike.

Suikoden 2 is a yes.

Definitely SKIP Conception 2. It's terrible.

Heard good things about HPP.

Sorry, the external drive fix won't work. You'll just waste one of your downloads. Just choose not to download it now and wait until you can play it.
While correct, rather odd wording. it implies we have limited downloads, but we dont.

By the way, anyone played Edge of Serenety or Mystic Chronicles? Are they decent little retro RPGS? Also wondering if carnage Hearts EXA is turn based or real time. Videos ive seen mke it look like a real time game kinda like the old armored core series. Is that a fair comparison?
Slight correction to other responses on Carnage Hearts EXA.

You 'code' your mechs. However, there are two different styles:

1) You code your mech to respond the battlefield conditions (scan, move, fire, etc). You tell it what to do and then watch.

2) You code your mech to respond to your inputs. You control your mech completely, but it can only do what you code it to do.

So, yes, for some missions you are essentially 'real time'. But for many you're not. The ones your not are actually the better missions imo.

Missions can be either 1 or 2, depending. The game is not for the faint of heart, but if you like the idea of coding a mech to do your bidding, it's worth the price.

I decided not to get Suikoden II since the bugginess is turning me off, especially when I'm the type of player who wants to get all the items and stuff.
Suikoden II is a legendary game. Some would say it's the greatest JRPG ever created, and I would agree with those people.

In my opinion, it's better than Xenogears, FF VII, Chrono Trigger, etc... In short, I recommend overlooking whatever bugs are there in order to experience it (if you like JRPGs).

It's Cross Buy as fuck. You get five versions (Star Wars Pinball on PS3/Vita and ZP2 on PS4/PS3/Vita) of every table as long as you don't buy them on PS4 first.

So I guess I'm going to start Force Unleashed tonight and try to beat it tomorrow since there's basically no other recent/decent Star Wars games that aren't pinball and don't feel like buying any of the old ones. What Star Wars game will everyone else be playing tomorrow?

So it just adds them to the hub game, correct?

You get the demo + unlock key for both Star Wars Pinball and Zen Pinball 2 to add to their libraries of tables, which also means that there are five sets of trophies to earn for each pack on each platform.

I decided not to get Suikoden II because my backlog is so big that it'll probably be in a 99-cent flash sale by the time I can get around to it.

Suikoden II is one of the greatest jrpgs out there, but it's not better than Xenogears to me.

Some footage I recorded of Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed on Vita/PS TV:

You just sold me on not getting it. By the time I finish FF 3,5,7,8,9 it will be on sale again.

Thanks for the videos. Elite. Squadron looks substantially better than the PSP port of Battlefront II. Think I'll have to grab it while it's still on sale.

Anyone else have any preferences of whether Renegade Squadron or Elite Squadron is better?

Crap I bought this on 4/30 for the $30 price. Does anyone know if Sony will provide refunds within a certain period? I kinda doubt it but wondering if anyone has tried that before.
I doubt they'll do it. But it couldn't hurt to try getting on sony chat and bringing it up. Call it a price mistake maybe. Maybe it was supposed to be $30 to begin with and sony botched it in the system.

Played a bit of the Rocket League beta on PS4 and that will be an awesome game. They've done a good job of taking what was great about SARPBC and making it better. I don't recall the original having a ball camera that just centers on the ball in the original, but that's how I'm playing Rocket League. I'll have a video on that tomorrow morning.

Just curious in case I decide i want to buy more, but does the Golden Week sale end tomorrow or when the store normally updates? Their Twitter and banner says it ends tomorrow with no time listed, but the web store and blog says through the 4th or to the 5th, so like normal I suppose? Anyways, maybe i'm missing something but I'm assuming tomorrow will be the last full day before the store switches over Tuesday, just like any other weekly sale. Maybe I'm reading that wrong, though. Thanks.

Weekly sales end when the store updates on Tuesday. They have to say it ends on Monday so that people have less reason to whine about when it ends.

That's what I thought, thank you! I figure I'll end up picking up a few more games on impulse before it's over. There really isn't too much left I don't have in some way, though. Anyways, cool. Hopefully the site will stop messing up on me, though. Thanks.

Totally cheating my way to the platinum in Force Unleashed and it feels OK since I'm just getting into the spirit on embracing the dark side.

Can anyone tell me if the I were to buy Suikoden II on my PS3, would I be able to download it onto my Vita as well or would it just stay on the PS3?

Also what are peoples thoughts on Resonance of Fate? I cant decide if I want to get it or not at its price.

Force Unleashed is so mechanically bad.  Keep dying because it doesn't recognize my double jump half the time.

Edit- Now I'm stuck in a wall.

I liked the game overall, but I HATE the animation freezes they put in (every time your saber strikes someone, the character animation halts for a fraction of a second trying to emphasize hits but it kills the whole smoothness and momentum of swinging the saber IMO).

There's fun stuff in here but the mechanics are so rough and things like those weird animations that keep you from doing anything are a real burden. The combat is wooden and not fluid which is quite unfortunate because lightsaber fighting should be smooth and fluid.

This jump and press the button a second time and just plummeting to my death over and over is really ruining the game for me though.

When you buy something off the store it becomes attached to your PSN ID. If the Vita's on that same ID then you can download it from there.

If you're asking whether or not Suikoden II is compatible with the Vita, then yes, it is.

Your discipline is impressive. I am getting The Old Blood and have a backlog, so I guess I'll wait. Praise Jesus for Spring Fever being over at least.
It's really not, I'm already at $100 on Golden Week and contemplating doubling that still. RE I do really want but Capcom stuff goes on sale way too often and that discount is really weak.

Glad I bought a few PSN cards recently. Figured there would be the Golden Week sale eventually since it's happened at least a couple years in a row now. I'm debating on two titles and would like some input: Short Peace and Fantasy Hero. Both seem pretty neat but the latter is still fairly expensive but I feel like it may not drop much more than that if ever again since it's such a niche title. The latter I feel like could drop a little more so I'm a bit more confident it passing on it. Thoughts?

I'm already for sure buying Castlevania Lament of Innocence (have the PS2 disc and actually enjoyed the game despite it being pretty sub standard for a Castlevania title), Suikoden II, Senran Kagura Bon Appetit! (Have the cart for the other one so this was a natural pickup), and of course Raiden IV. I passed on it last time it was on sale and was kicking myself afterwards but I knew it would drop to the same level or lower soon enough if I had the patience. Considering how soon after launch it had a sale (it seemed fast to me but others disagreed at the time) I felt like it would see another deeper discount soon enough and low and behold a few more months later here we are..

I'm also waffling on Darkstalkers as I already bought it on 360 and don't really need to double dip on it. Think it'll go lower later? I'm thinking I may pass on it again and wait for $5.

Ok.. so i've been busy and have only looked at the Golden week sale so far, nothing really interests me.

Looked at the Star Wars sale...

Angry Birds SW PS4 is $15???? and thats 70% off????

It's $5 for Mac/PC and like $3 for tablets.... $49.99! for PS4?

Does it come with a complimentary reach around at least?

Quick question guys, does the game size on the webstore reflect the size of the download or the actual size it will take up on the HD?  I'm looking at Time and Eternity which is 13 GB, is that actually 13 GB or will that be 26 when its actually downloaded and installed?  Thanks!

You need 26 GB free in order to download and install it, but once it's installed, it will only take 13 GB.

Activision ain't givin' it up for cheap. You gotta pay top dollar fo yo Angry Birds.

I've heard nothing good about Fantasy Hero.

I believe this is only the second Golden Week sale (in the west), but I'm sure it'll be annual at this point, it seems too successful not to be.

Really impressed by starfighter and even episode 3 (basically force unleashed hack and slash)

Excited to try bounty hunter and racer revenge too!

May the fourth be with us all!

This still makes me sad that they don't have PS2 classics in PS4. I wonder if they ever will make PS1/PS2/PS3 classics for PS4.

Obviously the PS3 runs them through software emulation so don't see why they couldn't do the same with PS4. They probably want those PS Now subscriptions so I'm sure that's the more likely route, sadly.

I loved Bounty Hunter when it came out. Played in on Gamecube. I think its very underrated. I really want a sequel but I know that will never happen.

I decided to get Catherine, Suikoden II, Conception II, and Resonance of Fate. I've been waiting for a decide price on all of these games.

Finally made my purchase. I ended up opting out of Darkstalkers Resurrection mainly because I don't care about online battles and I think the PS1 versions may be better for me since I could put them on my PS3's and probably PS-TV plus there's always my PSP and maybe one day a PSV.

So I ended up with: Castlevania: LoI, Gurumin, Darkforces, Suikoden II

I was a big fan of Dark Forces on the PC and while this may be a minor step down from the old mouse and keyboard, I'm all for giving it a go if for nothing else but nostalgia. For it's time, this took the FPS genre to a new level.

I still need to grab the first Suikoden, but hopefully there's a sale or at least a notification before it disappears. Still, if I get around to wanting to play the second one in my massive backlog I could easily throw $5 at the first one without issue. I just prefer to pay as little as possible for games regardless of how fantastic they are.

Once PS Now fails and PS3 gamers fully move on and stop buying PS2/PS3 games digitally, then they'll go back to make good on some PS1 & PS2 compatibility in the PS4 for sales alone (and maybe PS3 too). More likely though they'll wait even longer so they can re-sell all the HD-Remakes and HD-"HD-Remakes" for the games already remade for the PS3 collections. Look at RE1 as an example. The more it succeeds (which I'm not saying remake/updates are bad) the worse our chances get of getting any digital backwards compatibility in PS4.
