:ps4: Foul Play - $2.00 to $100.00 [customspoiler='Fine Print'] :ps4: Foul Play is a part of the PlayStation Heroes program, which means that you can pay your choice among a variety of price points for an item that is usually a theme for entries into a contest to win some prize with most of the money going to a charity. There are no details at the moment for what the prize for buying Foul Play offers, so I'll post that whenever it's announced.

Edit: From the PlayStation Heroes app on PS4, the Foul Play promotion is for a trip to PlayStation Experience in December. Once you purchase the game, you're supposed to go here to register for the actual contest, though you should wait until the page is updated for the PlayStation Experience promotion instead of whatever it's on at the moment.[/customspoiler]

Thoughts on Mimana Iyar Chronicle? Looks like I have all the games I'm interested in from this week's sales.

On the other hand, I should be getting my Batman PS4 in a week or so. If there are any good PS4 games right now on PSN that are under $20, I'm all ears for suggestions.

Too bad Mighty No.9, Amplitude, and Resident Evil Zero are not out now. That would make spending $100 much easier.

So you mean to tell me, that whatever you think is a good game or a bad game is fact?
No, what I mean to tell you is you're playing a stupid grade school level gotcha shell game with philosophical concepts I am reasonably certain you don't understand.

Of course that's just my opinion about an entirely subjective concept so you would only look uncouth trying to insist that yours had any more value than mine. :3

Every week I always forget about PSN update, and every week I might as well have left it forgotten.

Even now I stand by the statement I made weeks ago: as far as Vita is concerned, weekly sales can be ignored. Flash sales are where it's at.

I laughed out loud at your scathing assessment of Nier, comedy gold. I was actually considering picking up a copy from GS a while ago, but after watching some vids, I really lost all interest in the game. I just couldn't stomach the horrible fuzzy graphics and bizarre plot/characters.

Well you know what they say: one person's garbage is another one's treasure.

hmm... DA:I for $30, upgrade to Deluxe upgrade $10.

Deluxe edition, $70..

As long as there's no catch.. I'll at least drop $40 this week, hope for a flash sale.

But spending another $60..

If you didn't play it at the time I can see you thinking its overrated. For me as a teenager with a Dreamcast I pretty much loved every second of it and Shenmue II was my main reason for buying the original Xbox. In a world with Mass Effect and Skyrim its surely aged poorly, but it has a very compelling narrative that I (as well as quite a few people it seems) would like to see completed.

I love FFVII as much as the next guy but I tend to think that so much of the insanity over the remake isn't necessarily that its the best JRPG ever, but its about getting back the feeling of playing those games that defined a genre back in the day.
I did play it at the time. In fact i bought a DC for it specifically because my friends wouldn't shut up about how great it was. I was pretty unimpressed back then too. Like i said, i do give it props for being the first big game of its kind, but its story was boring and just flat out not interesting, and the gameplay very dull and repetitive. Its not that i dont like older games. I still love the hell out of Suikoden and play it regularly. Shenmu just never grabbed me. Not even back when it first came out. .

You're not alone with that thinking. Shenmu was so good back in the day, because there was nothing else like it really. Since then we have Yakuza. I have high hope for Shenmu III, but I wouldn't be surprised if I'm disappointed. Same with The Last Guardian. What I saw last night looked and feel like a game that is 18 years old, not 18 years in the making. I don't think I can stand yelling at that big, ugly rat-legged dog with wings for the entire game, since I could barely stand the 2-minute demo.

If these 2 sold more than 1 million copies each, I consider that a success and would be very happy for them.
Now Yakuza i loved. It was about 5 years later but damn it was so much better. I think i need to see some of this last guardian footage. I keep hearing people saying it looks pretty bad

Platinum is working on a new Nier game with Square Enix:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GH26BfSo7co

interesting. The big back and forth with rollingskull and others aside, isn't Nier that odd ball game where you have to beat it like 3 times to get the true ending, and on the last one it physically wipes your save off the HDD? I think i picked that up quite a while back but never played it. Ive been in the mood for something different, maybe its worth a look if thats the one im thinking of.

Not much info in the trailer, im assuming this is a direct sequel or something?

Anyone know anywhere that has discounted ps store gift cards this week? Id like to snag another 60 to take advantage of the 15 back promo
Fred Meyer just completed a "save $10/$20/$30 off $50/$100/$150 in Electronics" coupon last week. Otherwise, here's some roundabout specials:

  • Use code "DAD2015" @ Gyft to save $5 off $50 @ eBay, where you can purchase digital PSN cards from Best Buy.
  • Safeway is running a deal to save $10 instantly when you buy $50 (or more) of eBay gift-cards ... and you can then purchase the PSN credit from Best Buy.
  • Lastly, Safeway is also running a "save $15 off $100" on select gift-cards, but it doesn't include PSN ... so maybe trade with an Xbox owner or eBay buyer?

Does anyone know or can explain the difference between the Driveclub on sale now for 24.99 and the anticipated PS+ free Driveclub, assuming we ever get it?

I'm guessing it's a more limited experience but what should we expect?

Just wondering if I should buy the fuller(?) experience.

The plus edition is a shell of the full game. Believe one track? A handful of cars. I know you can essentially "beat" the game with the plus edition and platinum it also.

I have to believe that PS+ free version will never come out at this point. It seems more likely to me that the full version of the game goes free on PS+ in the next few months.

Eugh, Nier. Why not give Platinum a GOOD IP instead of that crap?
It's too bad you didn't like Nier or probably didn't give it a chance. For me it is one of my favorite games last gen and I couldn't be more excited about this announcement. And I'm sure I'm not in the minority, because I doubt Square Enix green-lit this for a handful of fans.

On the contrary, I've seen recent videos of PS+ version with looks almost like a lengthy demo/trial. I will go for the full version as soon as I can.

Ugh, returned the disc version of DC and bought the PSN version. Downloaded it, and it kept saying no disc. Now I'm having to redownload it, although the first time didn't take that long at all.

Can't wait to see my data usage for today. Screw you, Comcast. Can't wait for AT&T fiber.

Calvino Noir, described as a film noir stealth adventure, is coming to PS4.

I don't think any copies exist anymore. I'm in so cal and not a store within 100 miles has one.
Your right. Not a copy within 100 miles of me aswell. Called GS and it is $30 for a used copy. Guess it's the inevitable PS+ edition for me unless the base game goes on sale for around $15. Hopefully the free dlc can be used with the free version.

I bought the season pass a while back but sold the game after I platted it. I really hope the DLC works with the plus version. All I would play is the DLC since I haven't nothing left to do in the base game. If not I'll end up rebuying the game later down the road so no biggie.

Here's something I haven't encountered before.  Clearing out all these old pre-order and DLC inserts from games and redeeming them and I put this one in for Crysis 3 Hunter Edition content and it recognizes the code but when I click redeem item it tells me "The code you entered may not be correct or may no longer be valid. Please check your entries."

Does anybody know if the digital version of Destiny Ps3 still gives a digital copy for the Ps4? Thinking about finally pulling the trigger during this sale...

There's a new Driveclub update that ups the level cap to 60, adds new Accolades, Logitech G29 support, and support for upcoming DLC.
Not that I think it will do any good, but I tweeted all three about G27 support. fuck if I'm buying a G29 or G920 or any other wheel again if it's this new wheel per generation shit.

PDP is going to be releasing what looks to be a legit PS4 remote that is officially licensed and doesn't look like the mini-remotes that have been available until now. I included the BB.ca link above because it's one of the few that has a picture of the remote, but here's a listing on GameStop for a US version at $29.99 that will be out in October.
Looks good but it's not coming out for at least four more months?!?!?

How hard is it to get a good PS4 remote made?
