:ps4: Foul Play - $2.00 to $100.00 [customspoiler='Fine Print'] :ps4: Foul Play is a part of the PlayStation Heroes program, which means that you can pay your choice among a variety of price points for an item that is usually a theme for entries into a contest to win some prize with most of the money going to a charity. There are no details at the moment for what the prize for buying Foul Play offers, so I'll post that whenever it's announced.

Edit: From the PlayStation Heroes app on PS4, the Foul Play promotion is for a trip to PlayStation Experience in December. Once you purchase the game, you're supposed to go here to register for the actual contest, though you should wait until the page is updated for the PlayStation Experience promotion instead of whatever it's on at the moment.[/customspoiler]

Zombie Vikings trailers ps4

http://youtu.be/ixUmHT3uGaU

http://youtu.be/zgLJMW4_wOw

This pair of trailers helped decide my vote. Either way, all 3 games for next month look like winners.

The vita will ask you to download the software for free when you plug it in. Both the PC and Vita needs to be online to download it. After that, you just need to plug in your Vita to the PC and operate it from the Vita.

Now if Sony could allow us to transfer PS3 & PS4 games externally, then my life is complete.
Sweet, tnx. Yea i think since i couldn't do it with ps3 and ps4 i assumed you couldn't do it with vita =P Glad theyre not total derps... though really if its that easy why the hell do they lock the consoles?

Anybody picked up Citizen of Earth? How is it?
I played the demo. Its basically earthbound if you like that

hmm actually those kinda push me to the board game. The animation is super stiff and ugly. It worked with stick it to the man but seems awkard in a brawler. Still not much gameplay there. Anyone found a decent actual gameplay vid of it? The only thing i really found was a crappy 10 minute of camera video of it

Tried out AirMech Arena a bit and it's pretty neat as a dual-stick shooter mixed with an RTS. Didn't even realize it was an Ubisoft game, so the uPlay pop-ups were a surprise. I don't think it'll be something I stick with, but it might be okay for the occasional pop-in.
the online is pretty dead tho, right? even after only being out a few months. Iv been trying to do some 3v3 to get some of the kill 100 airmechs, kill 20 airmechs carrying troops and i can never find games except 1v1 and that isn't too fun. my son has been playing the co op 3v3 but i think that is just vs bots.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2015/08/16/the-drop-new-playstation-games-for-8182015/

Here's The Drop for this week:

New Releases: August 18th, 2015

Adventures of Pip
PS4 — Digital
Adventures of Pip revitalizes the classic side-scrolling action platform genre. Pip — the ultimate digital underdog — is a lowly single pixel in a 32-bit world who proves that you can’t judge a hero by the fidelity of his shaders.

Arcade Archives Bomb Jack
PS4 — Digital
Bomb Jack is an action game that was released by Tehkan (Koei Tecmo Games) in 1984.
Players control Jack, a superhero who can leap and glide to collect all the bombs in the game’s stages.

The Bridge
PS4, PS3, PS Vita — Digital (Three Way Cross Buy)
The Bridge is a 2D logic puzzle game that forces the player to reevaluate their preconceptions of physics and perspective. It is Isaac Newton meets M. C. Escher. Manipulate gravity to redefine the ceiling as the floor while venturing through impossible architectures.

Color Guardians Demo
PS4 — Digital
An action-packed game with a whole spectrum of tricky obstacles, vibrant worlds, and dangerous hazards! Enjoy a new adventure across over 70 levels on both PS4 and PS Vita, and swap your own colors as you try to restore life to the world.

Curses ‘N Chaos
PS4, PS Vita — Digital (Cross Buy)
In this 2D Arena-Brawler world, there is only one law: fight or die! The Wizard King has cursed Lea and Leo, the fiercest fighters in the land! Now living under the shadow of death, they’re hounded by ghouls and hunted by the grim reaper itself!

Dungeon Travelers 2: The Royal Library & The Monster Seal
PS Vita — Digital, Retail

The kingdom of Romulea is overrun by monsters! You are Fried, an adventurer tasked by the Royal Library to stop these monsters. Traveling through dungeons alone is no fun, so make sure to recruit from the 16 different heroines willing to join you on your quest!

Giana Sisters: Dream Runners
PS4 — Digital (Out 8/19)
Run and jump, dash and smash, daze and teleport, morph and cannon… oh you get the idea: mess with your opponents! The game pits up to four players (or AI opponents) against each other in local and online competition.

Helldivers Super-Earth Ultimate Edition
PS4, PS3, PS Vita — Retail, Digital
The Super-Earth Ultimate Edition includes the full game, Masters Of The Galaxy and Turning Up The Heat expansions, 11 DLC packs, a bonus weapons pack, and a PS4 Dynamic Theme. This is a hardcore, cooperative, twin stick shooter from the creators of Magicka.

Pure Hold ‘Em
PS4 — Digital

Starting at the Jokers table on the floor of the vibrant casino work your way up to the esteemed Aces and Masters tables in the VIP penthouse. Buy your way into a game with earned credits, play your blinds, or go all in — whatever it takes to steal the pot and win the game.

The Quiet Collection
PS Vita — Digital

The Quiet Collection — classic, lighthearted adventure game fun. Explore, interact with your environment, and solve puzzles in this bundle of four old-school adventure games: Quiet, Please!, Quiet Christmas, Vacation Vexation, and Candy, Please!

Resident Evil Revelations 2
PS Vita — Digital
Resident Evil Revelations 2 for PS Vita gives you full access to all story episodes and a ton of DLC content all at an incredible value that includes extra episode 1 and 2, alongside bonus costumes.

Zombi
PS4 — Digital
Casting players as (a series of) survivors fighting to stay alive in a zombie-infested London, Zombi puts an emphasis on self-preservation, pushing players to distract or avoid zombies rather than confronting them directly.

Didn't play any online multiplayer, just the AI stuff the tutorial challenges offer.

Big Hero 6 is a part of Kingdom Hearts 3:

Star Wars Classics coming to PS4:

The bundle also includes Star Wars Battlefront Deluxe Edition, as well as a digital voucher to download four classic Star Wars titles – Super Star Wars, Star Wars: Racer Revenge, Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter and Star Wars Bounty Hunter – playable for the first time on PS4, and sporting enhanced graphics and Trophy support.

Yes – you’ll be able to buy the four games separately on PS Store. They’ll have Trophy support, too!

I sure thought Volume was coming out on Tuesday.  Did it get delayed?

Especially since Mike Bithell confirmed it himself recently:

On Twitter, too:

I'm very happy with my Batman PS4, but that Darth Vader machine looks cool - especially that controller. If it's anything like the Batman version, the box for this thing should be amazing.

And by "Super Star Wars", are we talking the SNES game of the same name?

Got on to play some Destiny (weekly) and buy FFIX...

PS+ Expired!

ARGH

Great month...PS+ Expired, Amazon Prime expires, GS Pro expires.....

Alrighty then, still haven't decided between the ps1 version of Final Fantasy Tactics or the psp one. All this hullabaloo about the frame rate drops during spells and such, plus the supposedly now "flat" music in the psp version. Having never played the original wouldst thou thinketh the battle lag wouldst bothereth me? Would headphones help for the music? Why am I eating a burrito of bacon and sauerkraut while typing this?

Phantasy Star Online 2 is getting a PS4 release in 2016. That's by far our best chance of getting a western release. Unfortunately for Vita owners, it looks like our chances of playing it on the go have dropped to zero.

How often do PS3 controllers go on sale? I need to pick one up here soon since the super old one i use with my old PS3 fat is kinda crapping out. Its gotta be a different color than black though. Wondering if i should just pay the high prices they seem to be or if they go on sale from time to time.

Keep forgetting to say this, but someone told me Street Fighter 3 Third Strike: Online Edition is on sale for $5. Can't check because I got it from a preorder.

https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-us/games/street-fighter-iii-third-strike-online-edition/cid=UP0102-NPUB30301_00-PS3STORESF3ONLIN
It's not a sale, just a weird price that has been active for a while. It's right near the bottom of the OP in the "Weird Prices" list:

:ps3: Street Fighter III Third Strike Online Edition - $3.99 - 60% Off

I wonder if all the ps2 Star Wars classics I bought for PS3 will be cross buy for the ps4 versions
They're not the same thing, so I doubt it. The new versions have upgraded visuals and trophy support.

Despite those framerate issues I'd still go with the PSP version. The translation is worth the hiccups. No idea what the music issue is.

Go PSP version for the far superior translation, no doubt.

My PS3 is having problem reading game discs and Blu Rays. Any ideas on how to fix it without sending it in for repair?

Tried looking on Youtube for help and the majority of clips show people disassembling their console.  Tried holding it at an angle and using a vacuum to clean out the vents. Still not working.

From what you said, chances are, it's the laser lens.

Sorry. Not to be a total noob/knob but, when do new sales come up? I spend a lot of time in the xbl forum and am used to new sales on Monday nights. I'm not sure if ps has the same regularity or not

New deals are updated on the store on Tuesdays around 2:00PM PST.
This. We generally start seeing changes earlier, but discounts may not be fully applied, etc.

Also of note -- if you're buying something, make sure you buy it by the following Monday night. Last week's sale prices are generally the first thing to be removed from the store, so if you wait till Tuesday morning (like someone invariably does) you'll likely miss it.

Also -- flash sales approximately once a month, always on fridays, at about the same time. This friday has a high chance of one.
