Not the same as a friend like Abscess, but just heard old Packer Fuzzy Thurston died. He was my favorite of the old 60s Pack teams because he went to the same high school that I did. One of the keys to the big famous Packer sweep.

I met him and got his autograph when I was a kid at whatever bar he owned in Green Bay....Fuzzys I think it's called.

Yep, just went ahead and did it, a little under $82 after tax. I was right, that lone red DS3 on clearance had already sold at $41, though now I have another spare DS3 since one comes with the bundle. A DS3, an 8 GB card, and lego movie game is definitely worth the extra $24.
I agree. That is why I just got back from swapping for the bundle. I have had enough of being in public for the month already after today. That Target was a fucking zoo. On the bright side, there was a LOT of yoga pants.

Since I went back for the bundle and I already had a spare 8GB card, if any of the new PS TV owners would be interested in a 8GB card for cheap, PM me.

The NFL under 2 minutes fumble rule is really stupid. What happened to the Packers today?

fuck the Bills, at least they are still on the outside looking in for the wild card spot.

Owl, how are you liking that Spider-Man game? I thought it was one of the better PS3 Spider-Man games due to the varied Gameplay styles it had.
Haven't quite got a handle on the combat yet, there are a lot of different button combinations, but I do like that it changes up the gameplay styles and lets you choose how to upgrade your character and combat moves.

I don't like that dodge involves using like 3 different buttons. Normal level auto-dodge and circle strafing lock on of one enemy while holding L1 I think it was, then to dodge roll more serious attacks, hold L1, X, then press a direction. It seems like they could have come up with a less cumbersome way to implement dodging and not lumped it in with lock on. I'm also not sure yet how I feel about the Punch-Out sequences.

Gator, did you play SM2? That one looked pretty bad, so I'm curious about a comparison from somebody who played both (if you did that.)
I assume you mean The Amazing Spider-Man 2? If so, yeah I played it. All those Beenox Spider-Man games are rather similar. Spider-Man 2 was not great and ended up being a terribly grindy plat due to maxing out all the costumes. That caused it to wear out its welcome a bit. Other than that, if you have enjoyed any of the Beenox SM games it is really more of the same.

In comparison to Shattered Dimensions, SD had varied gameplay elements due to the 4 timelines. It kept my interest more due to that. With that said, it was also much longer than SM2 would have been without all the suit upgrading.

Does that help at all?

Yep.

This is the video I watched for ASM2 and it made it look pretty horrid:

I hadn't heard anything about the first game, though, so I wondered if it was worth bothering with.

It's a bit weird playing through the Good run of Infamous 2. They clearly put a lot more effort into the Cole/Nix interactions and the dialogue really suggests that he's more enthusiastic about going along with her evil plans than Kuo's good ones.

I skipped around in the video and he brought up a lot of good points about the game. It seemed he mainly focused on all the side missions which were rather tedious. The story was better, but still not great. I thought you were more interested in a comparison to SD specifically. I think it has more to offer than SM2, but like I said, they are both the standard Beenox Spidey games. They wont be winning any GOTY awards, but I was generally pleased with them as rentals.

Are those codes the ones that they say function just like gift cards? The few that I've gotten have worked in-store (not sure if I ever tried using them online), though I don't think I've gotten one for several months now.
Thanks man. I somehow missed that there was a 4 digit pin included with it. So yeah it functions like a GC. I got it to work. Free $10 PSN card, thank you best buy.

Basically 100% done with Christmas shopping.  Just need to find one last box to put a blanket and some other stuff in and wrap it.  Feels good being done!

Did you watch the theatrical or unrated version?
Unrated is absolute shit and I didn't feel much better about the theatrical.
I'm guessing the unrated version. We had been watching it for what seemed like forever, and finally said ok how much longer does this have, and there was still 90 minutes left. After we had watched an hour already. Such a dumb fucking movie, and I really like the first one.

Gonna stream some Strider.

*Warning: I may actually die or screw up a few times while playing.  Professional video game players and those with flawless gaming abilities may possibly be offended by my inability to perfectly play the game.  Viewer discretion is advised.

(And no Gator, it wasn't you who was being a twat last night.)

Liked for twat. Also, I am terrible at video games.

Oh yeah the commercial was the best part so far. Its not too much better watching the Panthers, honestly. Shame that whoever wins this division will get a home playoff game.
Even worse, there's clearly 6 teams in the NFC that have been playing well and deserve to be in the playoffs. One team is gonna get left out cuz of the NFC South.

After that pitiful performance, hopefully Aaron Rodgers learned that you actually *should* have sex with Olivia Munn on game day.

I made the mistake of watching the unrated version first. I'm not sure if watching the theatrical first would have made a difference but the unrated ruined any hope I had at enjoying the movie. All the jokes from the theatrical were replaced in the unrated version with what felt like a string of "runner-ups", but the jokes were so close to each other that when I did watch the theatrical version it felt like the same movie. Like I said, not sure it would have made a difference but it was pretty disappointing because I liked the first one a lot too.

Lesson I learned? Always watch the theatrical version first; they put that version in the theaters for a reason.

I always thought the unrated version was there for more f bombs and boobs.

Got that sweet PSTV for $57.35.

[customspoiler="Target Story"] There was so many people at Target. The only other time I've seen it that busy was... also during Christmas season two years ago. After getting through the crowds I got to the video games section and looked for it to make sure they had some (about 2 stand-alones and one bundle).

Asked at the Electronics counter for one and I followed them to it. They made sure it was the one I wanted then asked if I wanted to pay for it there or at the front. Told them I was going to price-match and they told me to go to customer service.

At CS they had three registers opened, the last two times I've gone it was only one. Waited for about ten minutes then I was helped. Informed them I wanted to PM and the guy looked through the drawers for the iPad they use. After looking up the price at Bestbuy.com, he confirmed that it was for $70. After I agreed he called for a supervisor.

Meanwhile, the register next to us had to divert people to the one I was at because he couldn't help them at his register. Not sure why it was, but maybe they were trying to also price-match. Started to feel really bad since it was taking so long. Eventually the supervisor arrived, approved the override, and I gave him the Cartwheel coupon.

Then he asked me if I wanted to get a red card. At first I wasn't going to, but he insisted. So, that took another chunk of time. Thankfully, some of the people waiting behind me went to the third register. Filled out the info, got my Red card signed up, and thanked him before leaving. As I was about to walk away, he told me how much I saved, which is likely store policy since I had already started walking away. Suffice to say, it was awkward[/customspoiler]

Edit: There we go. Thanks for reminding me Therm.

Unrated just means it wasn't in the cut they submitted to the MPAA. They could cut out an hour of stuff they decided took away from the flow of the movie or that was just plain bad and it would fall under "unrated." It doesn't mean anything with regards to adult content, though that's often what does get cut in order to provide a pass or lower rating than the movie would otherwise receive.

Hm.. I can't remember customspoiler either.

Edit: You used single-quotes. It's double-quotes.

Edit2: Weird. Worked in preview, then not when I posted for realsies.
