Watching one episode of Criminal Minds because an old high school friend is apparently in it. Show is god awful.

EDIT: Well (off screen obviously) she got raped by twins and had her finger cut of and fed to her. WTF kind of show is this?
Why exactly does CBS run these shows Into the ground? CSI has been on what, 15 years and NCIS and this one are pretty far along themselves. Case of the week shows really shouldn't last more than 5-6 seasons max.

I don't mind a show running a long time, but it should be dynamic. Look at the main characters in NCIS--not a single one has had a long-term meaningful relationship. Gibbs having been married 4 times before the show started then has a dry spell now running on 12 years? I mean sure he had a few short-term girlfriends, but that's a huge departure from his pre-show behavior. None of the characters have moved, gotten promotions (McGee got a title change--whee) and the only regulars to leave the show left because the actresses got tired of it. It's like they're pretending that time doesn't lapse on the show, which is just a huge mark of cowardice on the part of the show runners. They're so afraid of losing ratings that they'll do the same thing over and over again for 12 years. It's crazy.

People still watch it at 15-20 million viewers per new episode, though, and that's all that really matters as far as CBS is concerned.

Yeah CBS has the luxury of everyone watching their channel for whatever reason.  Who fucking knows why. But it appears they can trot out whatever they want and still rake in the viewers. That 2 Broke Girls has tons of viewers and it's just absolute garbage.

Just watched Whiplash. Quite enjoyable.

Here's a 66/100 review for Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy, the new dungeon-crawler JRPG from the Demon Gaze developers: http://thekoalition.com/reviews/operation-abyss-new-tokyo-legacy-review-operation-overload

Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy has a lot of content within it, provided you are able to get through the incredibly complicated aspects of the game. There is way too much information overload that will detract many RPG enthusiasts away, despite the colorful and interesting character designs. The story of the game is not good enough to keep players engaged and wanting to haul through the overbearing micromanagement of the turn based battles.
If you’re someone that loves anime styled games or traditional dungeon crawler RPGs, then you may find some value in playing Operation Abyss on your PlayStation Vita. If not however, then you won’t be missing out on much if you decide to skip out on this one.

There was an exploit in Witcher 3 where you could kill cows for their hides in the Prologue and meditate for about a day at a time to regenerate them and get more hides to sell to merchants. CD Projekt Red apparently fixed this exploit in the latest patch...in the best way possible:

Yeah, but Kat Dennings has big fat titties and DSLs, so there are your male viewers. I tried watching a few episodes, and every joke they made was about pussies. Seriously.

Tales of Berseria announced at the Tales of Festival.  PS3/PS4 and has a female protagonist.

Worth noting: He compares the game to Might and Magic and to Shin Megami Tensei, neither of which are in the same category of RPG at all. Somebody who knew what he was talking about would have instead compared Operation Abyss to Demon Gaze, Etrian Odyssey, Class of Heroes, and Elminage as popular series in the same genre. With that in mind I'd just toss the guy's opinion out as irrelevant if you're a fan of the Japanese dRPG genre, which this guy doesn't seem to be.

yeah chocolate. Injected with something called rick Simpson oil. fucked me up. Too much last night but its still lingering now and feels good. Just too bad it was so damn strong at the beginning. Still good but the dry mouth is the worst. I guess they say that's a side effect newbs get.

lol, chocolate.

It's pretty nice here today but all I want to do is play some Unity or Witcher 3.

I bailed on all the CSIs years ago exceprt NY. Got to be ridiculous. I think I stopped watching Miami first. Couldn't stand Mr Wolf and Caruso was such a joke with his mannerism. Once the former stripper was supposed to take over but never did on CSI Vegas I was out of there as well. Show really jumped the shark. I think 5-6 years is probably about right.

I played through the MG Ground  Zeros Demo.  I actually killed 77 people.  There was actual game play.  Probably won't buy this on release or anything but maybe for $20 or so if/when it were to hit that price point.  Assuming they don't go back to cut scenes with the occasional game thrown in.

Will check out the side missions and see if I can't get a few more trophies out of this.

I can't believe people paid $20-$30 for this what a rip off.  Also glad I never got it for $10 minus $5 coupon (waste of points) at GS.

That was a pretty terrible review and anyone who was interested in the game can skip the review altogether. You'd think they would put a little more research in what they were talking about. I guess you could call that decent if you put it into a category of fluff reviews.

Sorry, guys. I'm not as familiar with dRPGs like you two, so I wasn't aware that the review was badly-written.

Well grammar-wise I can't speak about it since mine is rated at a 2nd grade level but he really didn't do the research for the review. I mean it isn't necessary but that means I can just ignore any future review by him or that website in general. Also like Therm said, I definitely got the vibe that he never played a game like that. I guess switch badly-written to un-enjoyable fluff review. I'll get off my therm soap box now.

Well the ones he mentioned have some resemblance depending on the games in their respective series. I'd say Strange Journey is in it. Damn makes me wish a Shin Megami game would come to the vita.

Operation Abyss probably won't get many reviews, so just having something on their site helps bring in the clicks from those few people who search for the game. It's unfortunately not an uncommon approach to content generation.

Just finished Thomas Was Alone. Legitimately better game than AC2, IMO, even though it should have ended at the end of Design rather than starting over with grey squares. The color grids that gave the grey squares whatever appropriate property were a nice new gameplay element, but the narrative just got lost with the character reset, I think.

Still, short and sweet.

SMT is one of the reasons I want a 3DS. DQ, EO, and FE series games are the majority of the others, though some of the 1st-party Nintendo titles have some appeal as well.

That's why they keep watching. Same thing with Law & Order so people like my parents (and most people in their 60s) can just turn on the TV, see characters they're familiar with and just watch it.

If they got married, had relationships, etc that would just confuse the old people.

Google says it's hemp oil used to treat cancer and other illnesses. http://www.hightimes.com/read/rick-simpsons-hemp-oil-medicine Course, what you got might not have been the real deal. https://www.facebook.com/ricksimpsonofficial

Soccer Super Bowl in like 2 hours, just a friendly reminder.

Also funny to me that soccer fans on reddit are complaining about the offseason. Which lasts a whopping 2 months. English Premier League 15-16 kick off August 8th.

I don't give a shit but have confidence my friends suppliers are the real deal. Bit yeah the Simpson oil is a gimmick most likely. The pot is certainly real
If it was legit Simpson Oil than it's not a gimmick. This company called Tetra Labs makes other products with cannabis for all types of patients. The E-Cig carts are awesome because you can be around anybody and get medicated since there no smell associated. They get you medicated very quickly.

That's all well and good, but what's his take on the political situation in the Philippines?

On a slightly related topic, I'm willing to try another JRPG. I really enjoyed P4G with the Social Links, animated.cut scenes, and more urban/current setting. Disgaea's story was fun, but I just hated the strategy tile-based combat.

Anyone have any suggestions? It's hard to tell the difference with all of these options (a bunch of Atelier titles, Tales of Hearts R, Ys: Memories of Celceta). Seems like there's some JRPG fans here.
