not you tyler, you're legitimately pissed off. I hate it when shit doesn't just work too. It's two thousand and mother fuck ing fourteen for crying out loud!

Yeah I think it will still work. I am talking about having to play the last level on Uber. Not sure I could stomach it. We will see.
It might have been because I'm just that good, but the last level felt easier on Uber than on the second-highest difficulty.

need a little help from computer people... I am heading back to school and am in need of a cheap Laptop/tablet for mostly papers and internet... looking to spend $250 or less.

Have seen a couple options but not sure what to go with, I looked at Chromebooks, but want to be able to do full blown word and Powerpoint.

Right now I like two different windows computers. The HP Stream 13 is $229 from the MS Store, which i like the idea and concept, not a huge fan of the color, but not sure on specs and power as I have falling back on keeping up with processors.

The other option I am looking at is the Transformer t100 2 in 1 PC. It really is a transfomer tablet running full Windows 8.1 with a keyboard, I can get it for $199, a little mad because for $229 you can get the keyboard that has a 500 HD built in... but not a huge deal, because it's sold out.

So any advice, been watching videos on both and both seem pretty positive... I think I amy like the portibility of being able to use the Asus as just a tablet when needed, but not sure if the bigger screen/keyboard on the stream would be better?

Any systems or other PC options I am overlooking?
You might want to look at this today for $150:

It's basically a copy cat of the HP Stream 11. It's got a 32GB SSD so it will be snappy similar to a tablet as opposed to an older mechanical hard drive. It's 11.6 inches so it will be nice and portable as well as lightweight. It's basically a chromebook but with Windows.

I like this one better. Polar bears are kickass.

Wolfenstein set to be delivered tonight. Not starting it yet though, gotta clean up side missions and such in Second Son after beating the story last night, then it's back to Into the Nexus for the plat.

I might play Tomb Raider before Wolfenstein anyway though. Not sure yet.
Damn, wanted to get that from Amazon, but looks like the 14.99 price is dead. Thought the sale was through the end of the week.

Oh well, hopefully BBY puts it on sale for $20 or less soon.

Casting from a tab is going to be laggy as it IS casting from your pc to the chromecast, but you are muddying up the conversation about the chromecast in talking about that use case.
Also as you know casting from a tab the heavy lifting is done from the phone or computer. So if you have a low powered computer or phone it will be laggy just from that alone. As you said Netflix, Youtube and other stuff is natively decoded by the chromecast.

Went to BB opted for the $10 PSN cert. Digital coupon didn't work (dumb) but because they said it's a gift card not a digital good (game). Getting the cert for $5 maybe I'll grab Counterspy and Child of Light now since they'd be $5 each with the savings.

On a side note, I was thinking of using my B2G1 coupon but all the pre-owned PS4 stuff was super high...like Knack for $50 etc. Lame.

gigantor 6.7gb (!) ac:unity patch incoming. Apparently they actually replaced some textures/game assets to help improve performance.

I think a lot of people have moved on. It already hit $30 but with all the efforts to patch it I might pick it up when it hits $20 or less. Seems like the right price point if you're interested. I'm thinking after Christmas we'll see it on the cheap cheap.

Maybe for $10 from Gamefly, but otherwise, I'll pass.

thanks for the response... Only thing I am wondering is if it comes with free office, the other two I mentioned do. Also I'm looking at the steam 13 which is the 13" if I go smaller I think I would rather go the tablet 2-1 way

So is there no way to actually use that digital coupon? I got one or maybe two when I extended my GCU but couldn't figure out what the hell it could be used on.

If you go to the link you will see that adding Office365 is an extra charge. In all cases it's a subscription. You get Office for a year, then you have to pay again. No doubt you know that, but figured I'd mention it just in case.

Yep, everything but the strategy guide gamer club unlock coupons are pretty useless. You can get better than 10% off on most DLC / digital games when it is on sale or you can buy PSN credit for greater than a 10% discount. And when I was last at my Best Buy (since it is is a fairly rinky dink, half-measure BB) I couldn't even find 3 used games I would be interested in purchasing.

Actually office 365 is a yearly charge with a year for free with either the stream or Asus I posted... however the Asus does come with office student and home for free, the older version before 365

It doesn't have the free office like the Stream. Keep in mind it's only free office for a year (not sure if you need it longer). I'd probably just opt to put LibreOffice on it since it's free and it can handle all the Microsoft formats. As for the 13 vs. the 11.6 I'd opt for an 11.6. You still get a full size keyboard or close to it (some are like 92% full size) and it will be lighter. Unless you just want the screen real estate. As for the tablet it's only 10.1 so you will get a smaller keyboard. The battery life looks pretty good though if the 11 hours is true.

Ironically, the strategy guide coupon doesn't even work correctly. I had to get a manager override when I tried to use one on the hardcover DA: I guide.

yea both get 11 hours, just wasn't sure on how fast they both operate with the relative processor size each has.

I saw a review that the transformer ran Diablo at low setting s pretty well (no I am not really going to game with it) was more using that as a benchmark for how it operates. Just didn't know if I was missing out on another computer or tablet combo. I really like the Transformer tablet because I had experience with the android version, just not sure how great windows 8.1 runs on it.

I think it might be up to $14.99 meaning up to $14.99 in savings? That's the only thing I could figure. But 10% off a $60 digital game would only be $6 off. I'm not spending $54 on anything these days...lol.

I'm guessing Windows doesn't perform as well just because it's a lot heavier than android. With these machines at these prices they won't be speed demons. The SSDs actually help them move along a bit faster though. The only thing I don't like about these machines is the 2GB of RAM. 4 would be better but for budget computers they run better than the laptops of the past. I think for you it's really about form factor at this point.

Alright grabbed Counterspy and Child of Light for Vita, feel better getting both of them at $4.99 instead of $7.49 each ($5 BB Birthday cert). Slap won't be as hard.

Yea I think you are right... Was just trying to see if I was missing a deal out there, but right now I think I may go with the Asus... I am going to go to the MS store to see if they have the $229 Asus in stock, as that one comes with a keyboard that has 500gb hd built into... if not no big deal, $199 and I can get a 32 GB SD card for some of the extras.

I think Asus was one of their 12 days of deals deal. Did you check their site?

I agree, but dont be angry at that. You know you have a shit ton other games to play. I am happy I am not even tempted.

BTW. fuck work. There, now I am angry. Again.
I'm not mad at the sales. I'm just in a shitty mood and a lot of the games on sale I want, just not at the prices their at.

I have a billion other fucking games to play. I don't get mad AT sales, cuz I know things will be lower/free eventually and an I'm not an impatient fucktard. They just crossed my path today so they felt the wrath.

So I guess last week when I asked about the potential for PS1/PS2 classics to go on sale and you told me “a little birdie says to stay tuned” that was a bunch of misdirection, huh? If there isn’t going to be a sale in the next week, don’t hint that there might be. It doesn’t make me as a customer invested in what you’re selling. It alienates me.
