I have DA 1 and 2 and access to I, but have never played any of them. Watching some gameplay on 1 now, looks like it's aged well enough. Guess I should give it a try, especially before I get to Wasteland 2 and Divinity: Original Sin, since those are new games in the same style.

Need to carry around a burner phone for nights of heavy drinking. No internet access + no contact list.

PS: I originally typed out heaving drinking.

I just got done playing CoD AW for past 8 hours. 2 1/2 hours to do the new carrier easter egg and then an hour of practice and then 4 hours of clanwar. We did awesome and got first place and I got a new personal high with 69/1 (3 paladins, 5 bombing runs, 5 rocket drones, 7 uavs :))

Instant death when you walk into the flames from the afterburners on the jetplane in Alien Breed. Who would have guessed? There's no way to know that...

Got the God of War II plat. Overall it was much more enjoyable to get than the original's. I might try to squeeze in the Vita version's plat before the month ends.

Alright tech nerds, help me out.  Am I going to notice any difference going from the cheap no-names to the high-end brands when it comes to hdmi cables?  It seems like they would both get the job done, but Is there really any difference in quality?  Can I expect the more expensive brands to be more durable or do they pretty much hold up the same as the others?  I've been going the cheap route and it's getting the job done, but I can't help but wonder if I'm missing out by not going with the better brands.

.......... just to be clear, I'm referring to the sexual gratification I'll receive from asphyxiating myself with it... I know all about the picture quality.

ToeJam & Earl 2 is dumb.

TJ&E is in my favorite game from Genesis and I was so disappointed by 2.

Short answer: The cheapos do just fine.

GoW II definitely did clean up some of the mechanics that were annoying about the original.

I recall seeing a number of complaints about framerate causing issues, though that was upon release so maybe they got patched out. Don't forget the Vita version has trophy glitches--I'm sure that's current since people have talked about it in here recently.

Alright, finished off all four endings to Nier and I am sorry to say that I am not very impressed.  Two words come to mind when describing it.... generic and inconsistent.  Gameplay wise it's very mediocre and not very fun for a game made just 5 years ago... definitely feels much older than it actually is as far as that goes.  Same for the graphics.... they're passable I guess but also gives off the feeling that the game is older than it really is.  Voice acting is all over the place with the exception of Grimoire Weiss, who is actually pretty well done.  Story is decent but left me unfulfilled, even after viewing all four endings (and it doesn't help that it takes quite awhile to really get going).

Even after all that, I guess I can see why it has the following that it has though.  When viewed in the right light, the story does carry it through it's many shortcomings... but when the story itself has it's own shortcomings, it's hard to give it much praise.  The basis and idea behind the game definitely has a lot of potential for a sequel though and as long as it gets enough care and attention throughout it's development I'd be interested in checking it out... the first entry just felt very bare and needs a lot more meat to it's bones in pretty much every department.

EDIT:  When searching for news on the sequel I found this quote from the director of Nier on how he describes the first game...  “It’s like your mom’s home cooking. It may not be great, but it’s OK. You’re comfortable with it."

I guess that about sums it up.... mom's mediocre home cooking.... I guess.

good news guys I found the twitch account for the Kansas City fight game scene. I know they're legit too because they use the word hype like 3 or 4 times in their channel description and also 'level each other's game up'.

I'll let you guys know when I'm on.

Topside, not one mention of Nier's music???  That soundtrack is top 5 all time.

I really liked the story and the twist.  Nier's one of the few games that has stayed with me long after playing it.  I went and read that translated Grimoire, too, and that made it even more bittersweet.

But to each their own.

I'm really curious about the ending to Nier 2. The creator saying it's a happy ending and getting a "...what about that was happy?" response from the other people involved sounds fun.

So how is GoT, content-wise? I read the first 2-3 books and got tired of the huge unlikable cast, so the smaller scale of the game (to my understanding) is more appealing. Is it super rape-happy like the show?  It's bad enough to watch that stuff in movies/tv, but playing an interactive game would have a level of involvement that would make it feel a lot worse. I'd regret playing it if it's as sexually creepy as the tv series.  :nottalking:

Therm, I'm sure if there was ever a game where there's not only a rape, but you're involved in it as part of the gameplay, you would've heard about it. You seem like the type that watches Fox News.

God of War 3 is now platinum trophy #47 and overall trophy #5000 for me.

Part of me wants to dive into Ascension to finish off the series, but I'll try to finish of Wolfenstein and AC Bros first so I don't burn out on it.

Misquoting me saying "I don't like stuff with rape" as "I don't like good things" is pretty gross of you.
I was referring to your comments that you don't like the Game of Thrones characters from the books and you don't seem to like the show. If so, why the hell would you like the game based on both?

C'mon, man. You really went there with the rape comment? You're too much sometimes.

The closest thing I watch to the news is Last Week Tonight, which is rare. I've never understood why people watch the news, honestly. "There's stuff happening somewhere else that has nothing to do with you and you can't do anything about it. Tune in at 9!"

The soundtrack is worth mentioning and definitely one of the game's high notes; I was just typing up some quick thoughts. Not sure I would rank it up there with some of the greats, but it was good.

The twist was alright, but calling it a "twist" is a bit much for me. It was different, but nothing that I would expect to blow someone's mind. And I don't mind some loose ends, but I wanted more from the different endings than what was given.

I'm aware of the trophy-glitch issues on Vita. Based on what I've read, I just have to make sure never to hit the PS button at any point while playing and select Quit Game in-game before turning the Vita off.

The trophy list for that "Why is this getting an HD rerelease?" game Legend of Kay Anniversary is up: http://psnprofiles.com/trophies/3721-Legend-of-Kay-Anniversary

Looks simple enough, though I never played the original to know for sure. There's a trophy for finishing the game on "Nightmare" difficulty which might be troublesome. I have it on-hold at my library, so if no one else posts impressions of it, I'll try to.

You missed the keyword "huge" then, even though I specifically referenced that part of the appeal of the game is the smaller cast. I'm fine with unlikable characters as long as likable characters also get focus. The books have so many characters, though, that you can literally have hundreds of pages between PoV scenes from likable characters. Telltale's TWD s1 definitely had unlikable characters and that was fine because you weren't stuck focusing on them for ages--I would never want to play for hours as Kenny or Larry, for example, which is what reading the GoT books is like.

I never had any issues with God of war trophies and I hit the PS button all the time. But then again, I'm gooder at games than most people.
Yeah, I noticed a few posts by other people saying the same thing (well, the first part anyway), but I'll still refrain from hitting the button just to be safe.

Gameplay looks dated, but I'm pleasantly surprised at how much effort they appear to have put into the graphics. I was expecting this to be a Type-0 HD style update where they do nothing but increase the gameplay resolution (Type-0 PSP rendered at 1080p in an emulator looks almost exactly the same as the PS4/XB1 versions.)

I couldn't even find a PS blog post or a PS4-specific gameplay video, but this is from the Wii U version:

It doesn't seem like a big deal to avoid issues, I just wanted to remind you of it in case you hadn't noticed or had forgotten the posts about the trophy issues. :joystick: As long as you know when the trophies are supposed to pop and can notice when one doesn't you should be fine.

It's going to be a multi-episode series, so is it possible that this is the list for just the first one? I suppose it could be like Sam & Max and not have a plat across all five episodes.
One of the 2 silver trophies is titled "The End?" and is about
becoming a knight.
Since the first episode is titled "A Knight to Remember" then I think this list being for that episode only is a pretty safe bet. If this were the full list I'd expect at least 6 silvers, one for each chapter.

Enjoy that flight, then. Hope you don't get stuck next to someone with bad BO, although if you're still drunk I'd hate to be the one sitting next to you.
Yep. Pharm is that guy with the bad BO.

BTW, Vig:

The game is to be released in five parts, with an optional playable Epilogue only included in King's Quest: The Complete Collection edition.
I imagine that's where the plat (if any) would come in. Though interestingly enough there is not a listing for the individual episodes on the PSN store, just the complete collection. I wonder if the episodes will show up when the first releases on Tuesday or if PSN is going to have it as an all-or-nothing kind of deal.

I always planned on playing the Complete Collection, so that would be a nice bonus.

Just played some Five Nights at Freddy's 4. My youngest is obsessed with those games. First night was easy enough but the 2nd night is a bitch. It's a really simple game with lots of jump scares and it does make you jump. I tried night 2 four times so I guess it's got something.

Anybody have any of the 50% extra TIV codes from GS? I picked up this Wii lot  yesterday from Facebook:

kgX7ptG.jpg

I'm going to trade about all of it in
after I rip the games to my Wii USB hard drive

Wasn't there an app on the PS3 that lets you watch movies from your Ultraviolet collection? I booted up Vudu and there doesn't seem to be a way to log in. Was hoping to watch all those Mission Impossible movies on my TV instead of my phone.
