I'm not calling you stupid or anything, but I didn't have any trouble understanding MGS2. You didn't really get into specifics so if there's something that was particularly confusing then I can try to make the connections for you, but it sounds like you just weren't that invested into it.

I'm assuming that you didn't play the first MGS since you were reading it's synopsis? That might be half the problem right there; this is one series that really requires you to play them in order. Each entry requires the previous one as a foundation. It limits accessibility for new players but it's also one of the things I like about the series; each entry is like one chapter in one huge game. They're much better when viewed as a whole. And as crazy and ridiculous as the story is, it's done really well.
Just call him stupid and edit your post. Then when he calls you out, edit it again so it says he's stupid. Done.

The only thing that bothers me about MGS is when I'm ready to quit but I need to sit through a 45 minute cutscene before I can save... if there's one word that describes the MGS series, it's "long-winded".

Does anyone else in here like Chinese food? Had it for dinner tonight, and don't recall much discussion for or against it. I'm not talking about the all-you-can-eat buffet stuff, but an actual sit down and order restaurant. There are several good ones around town, and the one we ate at tonight I've been frequenting for 21 years. You know a Chinese restaurant is close to authentic when the Chinese students from the university eat there.

Aww, did i miss MGS talk? While Big Boss is not in the first MGS, that game explains all you need to know from the NES titles. The story in that first game is perfection. A little out there, but it establishes the style of the series and what to expect from just about every following game (except maybe Phantom Pain, this game is pretty different).

hey topside wanna play some final fight?

Have you tried authentic chinese food? Pretty much the hunan region (and a bit of Sichuan)

is the only type of chinese food I eat. All the other ones have strange dishes that aren't mixed with your usually fish/peanut sauce.

No way did I think when the Plus games came out that I'd be playing more Xeodrifter than STFU. But here I am. It's an addictive little game that scratches my platforming and shooting itch that all you Mega Man playing bitches awakened.

How far you're in?

Sichuan all the way. That numbing spice they use in some dishes can go fuck itself though.

I love this place. Since I have not been going out to eat as often for lunch, I do not eat there as often as I would like anymore

I'm really liking it. I guess I should get around to playing Metroid and Super Metroid someday.

We talked about this before.  I dont really like "chinese" food all that much, like those fake fast food places. But this place is great and most people I tell to try it tell me its the best Asian food in Tampa.  I agree and its 5 minutes from my house.

I mean, I don't know if it's "authentic", but I really like Chinese food that I buy around here.

Also, I gotta get me a panda humidifier!
It could be cantonese as most of the American Chinese food is based off of Cantonese. It's really a hit or miss for the ones I've been to.

All I can say is that Jiangsu and Zhejiang region food is just awful. Or maybe I just haven't tried enough from their menu.

EDIT: And yeah the panda humidifier is awesome. Not really a great humidifier but a great conversation piece.

Yeah that menu is mostly Chinese/Asian American or food made for the American palette. Food looks tasty though.

TLOU is not a short game. I just played for most of four hours and only made it through around 2 of 12 chapters. Granted much of that is going slow for collectibles and upgrade gear, but still. Halfway through now. Still a great game--actually plays quite a bit better at this point with most of the upgrades purchased that are accessible now.

Xeodrifter is so much damn fun. I had no idea it was a metroidvania type, or I would have started it first. STFU got sidelined immediately.

Also, I should have known the early release from work hell was too good to be true yesterday. 8:30 wake up call today from bossman frantically looking for a bunch of documents. Pure evil.

I have been playing Ratchet and Clank on the vita, I finally beat the blackwater city level. Serious that hoverboard race and flood escape were so over the top frustrating. I really hope this new PS4 remaster addresses some of the difficulty spikes these R&C games have.

Mad Max will get boring eventually but for now I still find it fun looking for the scavenger sites and taking out camps.  A major part of that is because every camp and site so far have had different looks.  No camp looks the same and they all have different layouts.  Same way to get in, same fighting but none of them are just square boxes with the same houses or containers.

Additionally there are hidden caves that have parts to scavenge and camps to defeat.  The world is pretty cool.

Dumb things: having to watch the eating and drinking animation to refill health.  And the animation to refill the canteen which is what you then use to refill health. Its all a waste of time.  Wish you could skip those cut scenes.

The place I ate at last night specializes in Taiwanese food. Their Beef Noodle soup and dumplings are both really good. I'd never tried them until I saw that was what all the Chinese students were always eating. They also do American-style Chinese food; the kids like the sweet & sour chicken and the honey chicken.

The other Chinese restaurant we go to is primarily Szechuan-style food; although they have started adding some entrees from other regions. They're a little more upscale than the place we went last night; $15-20 per entree vs. $5-10. They're both really good.

Foul Play is even better co-op. I just played through the first two acts with my son this morning, and we had a blast. He does pull off Perfect Scenes with greater regularity than I do. That sucker will probably pop the Perfect Scene trophy before me.

Finished off Hyperdimension Neptunia Rebirth 1 (holy shit, what a long name)

Game was decent. Story was paper thin, though. (No motivation for the Big Bad, and no real threat esclation)

The dungeons were super generic and just were just based off three or four templates.

Alot of grinding for all the items in order to craft your weapons and plans, but that's what made the game interesting.

Post from oldgoon in Best Buy thread regarding the Until Dawn price which seemed too good to be true.

"Also wanted to let everyone know that I just saw a correction notice for Until Dawn for next week stating that the price was incorrectly printed at $39.99 and is still holding a MSRP of $59.99. Those of you who receive it in the paper ad could still try and price match it elsewhere like Target, who coincidently has a 10% Cartwheel coupon on the game through 9/19 as well. That or you could try to argue with a Best Buy employee; either way it's YMMV."

Yesterday a guy came in with a banged up rim. We're not really supposed to do anything with them. We had a little break, so I decided to try to bend it back for him. Just got a text from work, that guy came in today with passes for free admission to the strip club for a year. He said if he's ever there when we are, he'll hook us up with some pitchers too. Sometimes it pays to go a little out of your way for someone.

Ended up getting armello too. Found someone in the code trading thread with one. Thank you launch discount.

I'll be in Chicago most of next week from Tuesday on so my posting will probably be at a minimum.  Will bring the Vita with me to try and keep up with the pinball tournament.

Maybe I'm the only one, but this game screams "7 day GameStop rental" to me.

I noticed on PSNP that there's one listing for Xeodrifter where the trophy list is shared, but there are also three additional separate lists. Which one(s) correspond(s) to our version?
