Vib-Ribbon for PS1 seems like an interesting title if you have a lot of CDs to use to build levels (though that aspect wouldn't work when playing on PSP or Vita).

The MGS save erasing bug for using Quiet in those two missions was patched, so no more worries there. Looks like the FOB tutorial bug was fixed also.

Version 1.03

  • Fixed an issue where under specific conditions, the game halts progression in the black screens displayed after clearing Mission 29 and Mission 42.
  • Fixed the issue where once the prior issue is triggered, the save data goes directly to the black screen and game progression is halted.
  • Fixed the issue where using the selection controls during the tutorial when first buying an FOB the game halted progression.

So much for my awesome fantasy team. Dez Bryant is out 4-6 weeks with a broken foot.
I was facing Dez on another league and he was the nail to my coffin. Now I'm down 26 with Julio and the Vikings D left, and nobody on the other side. I need Julio to go full beast and the Vikings to pull like 5 Cap INTs.

Yup. Yup. Yup. Everyone was so stoked to play the new Smash with GameCube controllers, it boggled my mind.

360 controller would be the GOAT if it had a decent D-pad. X1 controller has a better d-pad but is a step back in other areas IMO.
Yeah, PS4 definitely overtakes the Xbone controller.

I never had problems with the PS controllers and never heard anyone complain about them before the new 360 ones came out and were a little better and more people were playing Xbox by then. Before that it wasnt a bad controller at all. In fact I remember everyone was blown away by them when PS1 came out. So saying they had a problem for 3 generations is a little off base. Maybe by PS3 they needed an update but no one gave a shit for PS1 and 2.
I'm talking personally. I loved the games, but would have played them on just about any other controller SNES/Genesis forward at that point if I could have.

Did you try the rotating d-pad on the later 360 controllers? Supposedly, that was a big improvement.

My initial impressions on Grow Home are eh, I'm not entirely sure what I am doing, he falls off of the top of things too easy, but I was able to get the soundtrack through UPlay with some stashed rewards points, so there's that.

People better vote right this month.

Xeodrifter was good, beat it on Vita during the week and then finished up the PS4 version earlier.

Somebody in the FW 3.00 beta should check to see if PS2 classics work. It wasn't in the list Sony put out, but they might be holding the emulator news back until the official release.

This'll be interesting: My library will apparently be getting Destiny: The Taken King Legendary Edition, but according to unboxing videos for the PS4 bundle that includes it, the game is just the standard Destiny disc with DLC codes for the expansion stuff.

Crazy commercial. Gotta say the game looks great, though. Anybody play both and have an opinion on which platform does it better?

I haven't played the PS4 version yet, but a lot of the reviews/impressions I've read say that the added stuff in the PS4 version bogs the pacing down somewhat, and the plat is apparently much more difficult/annoying to obtain due to all of the collectibles.

I don't know what this is - earth wars or something? - but I think it comes out on jpn psn this week or next:

it kind of looks bad ass

(action doesn't start until about halfway through the video, sorry)

This looks like a shitty version of a Vanillaware game.

I started the PS4 version yesterday. I can see the pacing stuff making sense but the Vita game was just as big of a collectathon as the PS4 version is. There just isn't a guide for all of it yet AFAIK so people likely have their panties in a wad over that.

I guess I should finally get my PS4 camera out of the package since it can use it for some added elements, but I didn't bother as of yet.

While watching football yesterday I finally knocked out Uncharted Golden Abyss. I still have some kill trophies and all the bounty stuff for cleanup but it was definitely a fun little adventure.

Nintendo announced their new President: http://gematsu.com/2015/09/tatsumi-kimishima-named-nintendo-president

Time will tell how he fares, but he's much more of a businessman (i.e., less of a gamer) than Iwata was.
Honestly nothing against Iwata, but I don't think anyone else can do much worse. Hopefully as a businessman he scraps any ideas for another under powered console or handheld and embraces 3rd party support. I've always appreciated that Nintendo strives to be something different but when you do it inside your own bubble ignoring the advances of your competition it can be a dangerous thing. I'd like to see a real return to form for Nintendo but honestly I'm just not sure I care as much anymore. Even with great games like Majora's Mask and Luigi's Mansion 2 on 3DS I just don't care to pick it up much if at all. I feel like mentally I've moved on. I'm sure there are always exceptions but it's just not the same for me anymore. I'm such a PS fanboy now...lol.

For those of you into PC gaming.  Apparently Nom Nom Galaxy is still on sale for a couple hours for $2 on the Humble Store.  I only just noticed it on twitter since I follow Double Eleven.

The camera seems way too zoomed in, it looked like it would be quite easy to get hit by projectiles from outside the viewable area. Also do the squadmates do absolutely nothing or are they just placeholders if someone wants to jump in for coop?

I finally just decided to ask.

How many posts do I have to make today before Pete asks about the Octodad trophy card?

The Sony TGS presentation is at 3am EST tomorrow morning. Don't think I'll be staying up for that. Pretty curious to see the Star Ocean 5 footage, though. Not much else that's been officially announced already looks interesting, though, so hopefully we'll get a few new announcements.

I had to actually go back to find out why I was dead, I can't make out the tiny cag font at all on my screen. I saw that you'd played the japanese version. Did it have japanese voiceovers or subtitles?
It was all in English except the lyrics on the theme song (which was bizarre) and some of the writing in the splash screen logos. Even though TT shows the trophy names and descriptions in Japanese, when they popped it was all in English on the PS4.

I'd be a little surprised if tribute ever does the vita port of mercenary kings now anyways.  I don't think the game was terribly well received and if it's still crossbuy I don't know if they'd make much of their money back from finishing it up.  Not like I have any idea how the payback from sony would work on something like that.  I'll still hold out hope since I think I'd rather play it on vita.

I do hope sony drops the ps2 classics on ps4 bomb during tgs tomorrow.  Not because there's much of anything in the ps2 catalog I'd want to play, but rather it'd just be fun to see the internet's reaction when they realize that there's not much of anything they want to play either.

While I was initially happy by their response, the more I looked at the wording I realized that it sounds like a spin on "We are not currently working on it, but we would like to go back if we have nothing better to do."
