There's a handful of PS2 classics I do have and I'd rather play them on PS4. Plus I'm still hoping that they'd put out a decent emulator that can render at native resolution--PCSX2 is solid and has been able to do that on relatively low-powered PCs for years now, so the PS4 is absolutely capable of doing the same. Granted that doesn't resolve low texture quality or dated controls, but PS2 games at 1080p are still quite playable.

I've got a couple PS2 classics in my download list that I might actually get around to if I could play them on PS4. Of course, that's what I said when I got them for PS3 though.

 
I could see it being decently popular if the PS2 classics work with PS4 share function as it would make it much easier to stream and capture video on those older titles.

They need to add trophies to those old games. There was some weird filing once about retro-active trophies. Make it happen Sony! 

EDIT: Also get Activistion to release the PS1 classic Spider-Man on the store!

Even if they did something as simple as giving each PS2 classic a single gold trophy for beating the game (and maybe a bronze for starting it?), that would be pretty cool.

I actually still don't believe that it has the legs people claim it has in japan. I mean I know they're still making games for it there but the titles all look like nonsense. here's a short list of some of the vita games that'll be shown at tgs:

  • The Asterisk War: The Academy City of the Water Houka Kenran
  • Crows: Burning Edge
  • God Eater Off Shot [Lindow Volume] Cross-Play Pack & Anime Vol. 2
  • The Idolmaster: Must Songs
  • Kamen Rider: Battride War Genesis
  • Tokyo Ghoul: Jail
  • Tokyo Xanadu
  • Angelique Retour (also releasing on *PSP*)

That said, I'm still trying to figure out how to pay for that blue vita from gamestop.

No, that would be mailing it in and it would suck. That would barely be a step above the achievements for watching Netflix.

 
Career Mode in Asphalt: Injection has officially reached BS levels. There's an event where you have to collect 5 pickups within a 3-minute time limit while dealing with 5 CPU racers who can also pick them up, but the course has sudden turns that require you to take them slower or else you'll crash (and it's really, really easy to crash). And wouldn't you know it, the CPU racers have magic turning/handling that enables them to take the sharp turns at near-top-speed, and they usually get the pickups before I'm even close.

fuck this, I'm done. I've got other Vita games to play.

The only PS2 games I'd be interested in would be DDR games. But of course there's no way to plug in a PS2 dance mat. So, probably not interested. If it will allow me to play PS2 discs, though, I'd certainly give it a try at least.

I agree that it would suck, but do you really see Sony going back and making full trophy lists for old PS2 games? They'd probably have to kill off the Vita to have the manpower or time to do something like that.

ddr is pretty great, I tried to teach my kids how to play at the bowling alley but it didn't go very well. I have no skill at it whatsoever but I always thought it was fun. it sucks that rhythm games are almost entirely button pushers now (even though I like those ok).

they did have that patent that went through a while back for a method to insert trophies in to old games. if they put ps2 classics on ps4 without trophies I have to assume that means either developers didn't care enough to do it or they couldn't get it to reasonably work.

This is my plan for after work. Checked the titles yesterday, and there's several I wouldn't mind picking up if they're showing at the sub ~11 price now.

Got my drops, thanks target. Keep your eyes on this if you need a ds3: 207-00-0455. Gold ds3 starting clearance price here is 27.48.

Edit - the only thing that didn't drop for me was Minecraft. There's a bunch of other stuff including rocksmith 2014 for ps3 and an army of ds/3ds games.

Interesting... there is one store with 6 of those DS3s in stock near me. Might be able to score one after another drop. A coworker just bought a PS3 for his kid with the Gamestop DI bundle. This might be a good way for him to get a second controller.

Were there any Vita memory cards on clearance?

My stores clearanced their memory cards earlier this year. I haven't seen any new ones since.

Edit - but reports have been that if they still have them they're on clearance. Everything but the console it seems including screen protectors.

Any DCPI #s on the memory cards? My Google-fu is not strong enough apparently.

 
Seriously, I get a flu shot every year.  But only because its free and on site here at work.  Before that I never got one.  I get a cold at least once a year either way.  But at least I shouldnt get a real bad flu bug now right?

Yeah so I figure its free and gets me away from my desk for 15 minutes one day a year. It cant hurt.

Also those people that blame shots for getting sick are stupid. I hear that a lot. "I got sick from the flu shot". STFU (not the game).

 
The only Vita games I wanted from the Target clearance were Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2. Those games disappeared quickly around my area.

Either a 16 or a 32. I have a 16 now and it works for me. I have an 8 for the Vita I am going to give the kids, but if I had a cheap option for a larger one I would be interested since shuffling around stuff wont really be an option as much for them.

 
Mercenary Kings was a very neat game, and yes Tyler, I liked it. I thought the art, the systems were pretty good and the coop element was great. The grind for the platinum on the other hand, was kinda brutal since you really had to go out of your way to do that.

Gotcha, I had an extra new 8GB I could of sent you for free. If I spot a 16GB on clearance I'll let you know.
