After tomorrow I'm going to have to switch over to mad max so I can pass judgement. mgs5 so far is fine, but it's essentially a playground where you make your own variety. The lack of different scenery (as impressive as it is) will probably wear on me. Maybe if I progress the main story further it'll seem more varied. I have yet to use a single cardboard box.

It's really hard for me to ignore those side missions though even if they do involve dumb shit like finding a lost sheep in the place where I just found those blueprints. And the base is already repopulated! WHERE'S THE LOST SHEEP I imagine myself asking a soldier as I'm strangling him within an inch of his life and he tells me where a jeep is.

I'm glad I didn't listen to you guys when you kept going on about how terrible it is. Buncha negative nancies in here.[/quote]

Not sure who was saying it was bad. I thought it was great!

There are lots of features I missed that are in the sequel such as starting with sedatives AND poisons as well as having the ability to customize your weapon loadout on the first run. In contracts you get the standard dual, unsilenced pistols, fiberwire, one sedative syringe, and a few other tools. You have to beat the level first before you can choose what weapons to take in with you (unlike Blood Money where you can use any weapons you've collected from the start). The trophies were also a little more complicated than Blood Money as you only need enough Silent Assassin rankings to get $5 million dollars (which requires SAing about 60% of the levels), but in Contracts a Silent Assassin ranking gives you a weapon and you have to acquire all the weapons for a trophy. So you have to perfect every level. On some of the levels such as the hunting lodge were a nightmare to perfect since there were so many steps to complete.

Later levels got better, which makes sense since the earlier levels are remakes of Hitman 1 levels. The Traditions of the Trade (set in a hotel) though is one of my favorite missions in the Hitman series. It's in a public place so you can wander around and get the lay of the land and there are a lot of different ways to approach it. You can also stalk and kill a vengeful spirit for some reason.

So still enjoyable, but Blood Money does pretty much everything better, it is also easier to plat. Both games take about 1.25 - 1.5 playthroughs to plat it as there are some weapons you can't take out of the mission without blowing your cover and thus spoiling your Silent Assassin rating so you have to replay a few.

Utah up 17-3, BYU winning though ugh.

Time to flip over to Ole Miss

EDIT: Hmmm......maybe I should stop watching? So far I've seen a Bama TD and Ole Miss get sacked twice and a run stopped for a loss.

How stealthy are the Hitman games compared to the MGS ones?
Hitman 2 is super stealthy (and has twice as many missions as the later 2 games), Hitman Contracts early missions are super stealthy as in that it requires acquiring a disguise quickly because if you are seen in plain clothes they will start shooting at you, but then it relaxes for the second half when you start to have targets in public places. Blood Money is pretty much all public places so there are areas you can wander around without worrying about being seen. Acquire an appropriate disguise and then you can wander in restricted areas while being seen as long as you don't do something stupid like pull a gun or get caught lock picking.

If you don't want to worry about platting it in one run / at all, then you can play at lower difficulty levels which adds guards and civilians to the map and lets you save a few times mid-level (7 on normal, 2-3 on expert, 0 on professional difficulty) so you don't have to replay the entire mission if you mess up.

I can't remember one person in here saying they didn't like it.... there were countless saying they did like it though. Stotch even went as far as to say it was the best movie he's seen in the last five years and I would probably agree if I took the time to pay attention to everything that came out.

Therm probably thinks he's being funny.... either that, or he's just got his shit backwards again and is thinking about a different thread.

What did you notice about the green screening? I hadn't heard criticism. I saw it on the big screen and off hand I don't remember noticing anything off putting.

Around 4-5 random scenes throughout the movie. Nothing big, just short bits mixed in with all the other action, which is hard to point to the exact time when thinking about it later. They stood out fairly badly, but most of the effects were fine.

Best Buy has a 30% trade-in bonus this week. It isn't mentioned in their weekly ad, but their trade-in page lists it: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=pcat17093&type=page&ref=199&loc=FKSJxY2VJAk&acampID=1&siteID=FKSJxY2VJAk-bkDQc7ypjsSh7vhCgFNrBw

Mad Max is at $28 base ($39.20 after bonuses) and MGS V is at $30 base ($42 after bonuses).
good. If I can get a fucking storm to fucking spawn so I can fucking get this last challenge I can plat this fucking game and get rid of it! Arg.

Beat Shinobido 2 on Normal last night, working through Hard now. One of those games that requires 4 playthroughs, but in addition to the difficulty trophies it also has 3 faction trophies and 3 ending trophies along with trophies for performing a certain number of stealth kills, eliminating all witnesses, collecting various pickups, etc. that carryover between runs, so despite the annoyance of forced multiple playthroughs it handles it better than most games that take that approach.

Gameplay got quite a bit better once I realized how shitty the in-game tutorials are. There's some really basic stuff that the game doesn't explain well and if you're not doing those things correctly it's nowhere near as fun.

Just realized that while I posted a link yesterday that had this video in it, the video itself never got listed nor did I mention that there was one.  :whistle2:

FYI, you can complete the "during a storm" challenges by riding into The Big Nothing as long as you fast-travel to somewhere else before you die.

What's your playtime so far? I'm at 30% with ~32 hours as of last night.

H: ZD looks good, but the footage shown is the same as what they had at E3. FF to 2:36:

The TGS bit isn't pre-recorded as far as I can tell--there's at least clear control differences between the two videos--but it would have been nice to see a different part of the game, especially since a decent chunk of what's shown is scripted.

nice timing on the 30% bonus. might try to get something out of my 100k coins, and then dump off madden. i was really liking it at first, and draft champions is the best mode in years, but it's starting to grow old with the new catching(aka odell master race).

Been watching the Rocky movies on Netflix (only watched the first one before) and Rocky IV is the most ridiculous movie I have ever seen. The dumbass talking robot that was in way too many scenes, half of the movie is a music video and the corny ass speech at the end that ends the cold war, lol. Still was entertaining and Im sure this is the one people remember the most.

Best training montage, too.

I fucking love Rocky IV.

The only thing I liked about Rocky V was the fight scene when Mickey's ghost comes by on the train and yells at him to "Get up you son of a bitch, cuz Mickey loves you." which I believe was a deleted scene from the first Rocky which was then used in Rocky Balboa when Rocky has the flashback in the gym.

I forgot about Creed.Im guessing thats why the movies are popular on netflix right now. V is really dumb, but it looks like they just wanted the movies to come full circle or something. They dont have Rocky Balboa on Netflix unfortunatetly.

Trails in the Sky is pretty boring so far. I don't see much point in going on with it. Especially when I have so many newer RPGs to play.

Rocky's always popular. Even though I own the first two on Blu Ray and the rest on DVD, when they came on Amazon Prime months ago, I immediately re-watched them on Prime.

wrens playtime is skewed because he uses suspend/resume. he was at 3 days like 4 days after launch.

Now let's see how many football games I can get through before the kids start demanding the TV back. (Answer, whenever the battery in their kindles runs out)

And what's with YouTube. If I'm searching for pikachu dancing videos to show the kids, I do not need the 4th or 5th suggestion to be "Pikachu Will Kill You".

And then any sort of My Little Pony videos go from clips of the show to -way- inappropriate content really quick.
